Why would her interactions with a firebird be of concern to anyone? Aselia thought wildly. "I doubt a firebird could cause me any harm. I have no intentions of handling or attempting to tame such a creature. I want to know for myself what it looks like what it can do. Not that you need concern yourself with such affairs. You should be more concerned with yourself. Traveling out here on what appears to be your own. Do you not fear the earthlings?" Tilting her head to the side Aselia continued to regard V'demhe carefully. "Or, is it that you have instilled enough fear in them that they no longer try to harm you?"

Her answer to that question would be quite interesting Aselia was certain of that. Giving a humming sound of interest at the mention of hostility between the Alkidikes and earthlings. Yes she knew about these, she had known about it for some time now. It had started in Andile, where they worked hard to drive out the earthlings and tainted Alkidike from the area. She was aware some had sought refuge in Ast. Their next target. It was interesting however that V'demhe would bring it up only to stop part way through her conversation. How rude.

Folding her arms across her chest Aselia twitched an eyebrow but remained otherwise unmoved by V'demhe's strange personality. "I have no need to ask for anyone's services." Giving a slight lift of her finger Aselia tapped it against her arm. "Tell me, have the sisters gotten as far as Ast yet? Have they driven out a good portion of the earthlings? And what of the 'others' that reside there?"

Touchy little thing. V'demhe had to grin to herself about that. When she'd met the mystic in the market she hadn't been this fiery. She ignored the jab about her not needing to mind such things and went to answer the other question instead. "I do not fear them. Nor do they fear me." Well, that wasn't true. Generally they saw her for what she was not who and it dd instill some fears. Something Dem wasn't so sure she liked. "I do not make it a point to go around bullying the earthlings. As long as they stay off the isles and leave Aisha be, I see nothing wrong with them."

When Aselia went on asking about Ast and even about the "others" that lived there V'demhe narrowed her eyes at the mystic. "You would dare to treat those with Alkidike blood as though they were lowly earthlings? Their mixed heritage was approved by Aisha! If it wasn't she could have denied the lotus that held them! Or the mystics on the isle could have plucked the lotus and prevented them from existing." Apparently hybrids were a sore spot for this alkidike, but not in the traditional sense. "You are a mystic and yet you hold such contempt for the decisions of Aisha! You should not be allowed to be near her if you hold such vile notions." Dem clenched her hands into fists and turned away from the woman with a snort. There was no way she could justify liking someone who was rotten on the inside, no matter how attractive they were on the outside. "Safe travels, sister."

Flicking her antenna almost joyfully at first Aselia was pleased to hear another sister agreed that earthlings should stay off the isle and away from Aisha. Yes that was one of her goals, to bring back the pure traditions and strengthen her sisters as a whole. To let the earthlings know it was the Alkidikes land, not land they could easily walk on whenever they felt like.

V'demhe's answer about Aisha and acceptance had a spark igniting inside the Mystic. Aisha was to kind to others, accepted to many, she was going to completely annihilate her own creations at the rate she was giving birth to 'others'. A few Aselia could tolerate, some like Rishima had their loyalties and their strengths that could add to the sisterhood. There were however others, so far removed from the Alkidike blood it was a wonder it still showed on their bodies. Those were the ones that should never be allowed to approach aisha. Never be allowed to plead for a child with another earthling.

"You're right, I could have plucked lotus' from blooming. But at a great cost to myself and Aisha. I have no intention of causing the great mother any harm. I do however desire to prevent such circumstances. For as you said, they should stay off the isles and leave Aisha be. Our mother is too kind to those she isn't mother too. And I will protect mother." For now however she had a greater desire to search out this Suruhama, to learn more about it in hopes of finding out more about herself. Who was this sister to question her!?

Narrowing her gaze as the younger Alkidike continued to speak Aselia's hands reacted on their own. Swinging up she pulled her bow from her shoulders, knocking back an arrow in the quiver she was quick to pull the string taught aiming strait for V'demhe. "You have no say over who is Mystic and who is not! Aisha is soft, and our traditions have weakened because Eshe has allowed us all to grow lax against the earthlings on our boarders. I refuse to let that continue to happen."

Pausing a moment laughter broke from the Mystic. This girl was contradicting herself. Gathering herself together as she lowered her aim Aselia's eyes glinted as she looked the other Alkidike over. "If you respect so much the choices Aisha makes regarding the 'others' then why question who she chooses as a Mystic?"

Glaring at the sister who had turned away she watched. Waiting for the next move. Popoie gave several whistled in the canopy as she too watched on with interest.

When the arrow was knocked her ears gave a twitch and as the string was pulled tight her antennae did the same. V'demhe stopped where she was and turned her head to look at the mystic. "Going to shoot me?" For being close to having a hole in her body she didn't appear to be worried. "Our mother is indeed kind, and I believe she chose her mystics well. However, one has been led astray. Poisoned by the extremists ideals." A smirk formed once more on her lips and she gave a short laugh of her own.

"Go on your hunt for the fire bird, Aselia. I hope it guides you back to Aisha and her purity." And she meant that. V'demhe didn't like the idea of a mystic being so hateful to hybrids. Alkidike blood was Alkidike blood. And as she recently learned, some hybrids did not need to ask Aisha for children as they did. Fully facing the woman now she'd level her gaze at her. "I will not allow harm to come to any that hold Alkidike blood. As an Amazon of my people it is my duty to protect them. No matter how slight the presence may be. Do you find fault in me for it?"

"You are the one that has been poisoned." Aselia snarled, "Do you not respect our traditions? Will you bend over and allow the earthlings to corrupt our lands? Jauhar belongs to us, and because we have been so lenient with the crystal crawlers they had surged to our shores. Defiled our great mother, and have even regarded us on lower grounds than them. We are a powerful nation of people, do you not have pride in who you are? In who you were born to be?"

Repositioning her aim Aselia's voice rose in volume. "I am the extremist! I oppose those who would harm our great Mother! I oppose the weakening of our people, and the defilement of our lands. I oppose the wars the Earthlings continue to create that we are constantly pulled into. I oppose our scattered minds. We were once a proud and strong people!" Clearly this sister was siding with the wrong group, and would not be a good candidate for her cause. No this one had been tainted somehow. But how.

Snorting as a thought came to her Aselia's face grew dark. "Don't tell me you have fallen so far as to find love among the crystal crawlers. Among the shifters."

So much tension. As the bow was re-positioned V'demhe moved her hands to grab the dual blades that had once belonged to her mother. She pulled them out slowly and kept her glare on the mystic. "I have pride in who I am. Just as I have pride in my people and how my mother raised me." Having Aselia admit that she was an extremist made Dem shake her head a bit. Just her luck that she would meet another one. "Then become a leader and refuse Alkidike involvement in the earthling wars!"

When Aselia asked her if she'd found love among the shifters she let out a laugh. "No. I am not fond of their skin and colors. I had thought myself attracted to you, but clearly you are rotten." It was a stalemate. The mystic with her bow drawn and V'demhe with her blades. Not only that but Maha had started to growl and was now standing.

Was this Alkidike stupid? Blind maybe? "Your pride is misplaced Prentice. So far so you've even taken your mothers weapons." Aselia was only guessing at the fact based on previous conversations with V'demhe and her mothers blades. With how much she had wanted to follow her mother, if memory served her correctly. Wasn't it obvious she was working to become the next leader? As it was Eshe was still the voice, all that Aselia could do was sit in on meetings. She wasn't allowed to talk and even then, it would be likely Kadriye next before herself. It was far fetched to think that unless something happened to the other two She herself would not assend to becoming the true leader of her people.

That didn't mean she wasn't going to work hard to do everything she could to keep her people safe, together, united and maintain their traditions. The traditions that had made them strong in the first place. Narrowing her gaze Aselia adjusted her aim against V'demhe. V'demhe thought herself attracted to her? What a laugh, no one was attracted to a mystic that wasn't meant to be, let alone one that carried markings so different from the rest. She didn't even look like the two older Mystics. A smirk appeared on her lips as she glared at the Alkidike. Completely ignoring Maha, she had no interest in the creature. Popoi could tend to that. Her Kinfa was powerful and battle ready.

"From the way you talk, you act like someone who isn't interested in her own kind unless they had something different about them." Aselia was frank as she spoke. "So if shifter skin bothers you but you're attracted to me. Then you must have fallen for a tainted 'other'." What other possible explanation was there? It's possible it could be another tribe of earthling but if that was the case... would V'demhe not have corrected her on the subject?

When Aselia made the jab about her mother's weapons V'demhe managed to ignore it. She hadn't taken anything. Her elderly mother had given them to her so that she would have a weapon to defend herself with. Not that she needed to justify it to this woman. Dem shifted her feet slightly, readying them in case she needed to move quickly. "The one I have feelings for has a purer heart than you despite her mixed blood." She had never been afraid to admit to others that she liked a hybrid. "Admittedly your colors drew my attention but beyond that you are beautiful. No point in hiding that fact." She had seen a few sisters that were plain to their race and still attractive. Dem might only like those with more color but that was her personal preference. "Are you going to shoot me or are we going to stand like this for hours?"

Aselia's gaze stubbornly held onto V'demhe. Snorting at the way she spoke. "It's a shame you can't be moved in your idea's A tide is coming V'demhe and you're playing on the wrong side of it." V'demhe's question made the Mystic smile. "Would you like me to shoot?" Aselia was stubborn and refused to back down to any situation V'demhe may be taunting her but that didn't mean she had to react one way or another. A small sphere of red light shimmered on the tip of her arrow. Fire was starting to mingle with the arrowhead as her anger burned in her heart. Why would a youngling who had once wanted her advice now stand against her. Had she lead her astray, into places that had tainted her?

No, it was that hybrid that had shifted her position and poisoned her. Just like they had been poisoning so many of her sisters. It was unforgivable.

"I am on Aisha's side." Was all she said. After all V'demhe loved their mother. No matter what others thought of her. In her eyes, if the mother gave a lotus then it was she who approved of the hybrid child. She wanted her daughters to be happy and if that meant they were pleased with an earthling then so be it. Though something did occur to her. "Aisha has taken some measures to ensure she is not abused by some hybrids. She has given them a mostly earthling body so they need not ask her for children." And it was true. She had met such a hybrid. Even cared for such. The question about whether or not she wanted to be shot had her snorting slightly. "Do I look like a masochist? No, I don't want to be shot, but you seem intent on keeping your arrow aimed at me." While Dem was on the path to becoming an Amazon she wasn't yet. So it was likely she didn't have the speed to avoid getting hit. She would however, power through any pain and either attempt to disarm the mystic, or knock her out. Neither were something she wanted to do. "What caused you to become so hateful, Aselia?"

"You can't be on Aisha's side and allow the earthlings to dominate her. She needs us to protect her!" Aselia snapped, "you are willingly condemning Aisha!?" Eye's narrowed on the confrontation before her. It wasn't like she hadn't expected some sisters to want to stand against her, but she hadn't expected them to be so intense in their devotion to the hybrids. Had being in Jauhar for so long weakened her fellow sisters.

A slim smile spread as she laughed. "Then you shouldn't ask if I plan to shoot you or not little bird. You would do best returning home to Aisha before it grows to late."

V'demhe shook her head at Aselia. She had not condemned Aisha. She simply agreed with the great mother's decisions to allow the hybrids life. When the mystic called her "little bird" she felt some irritation. She might be younger than Aselia but she wasn't helpless. At least she did not think so. "I have business in Jauhar, so I shall return to Aisha when that is finished." Not that she was going to share her mission with this woman. Still, she half turned, always keeping an eye on the mystic, and walked slowly away.
