If Teiluj could have, she would have spun around to face Nkole. She hadn't expected him to take the ointment in the first place, let alone rush the last part of what he was saying. Both of her antenna twitched suddenly as her face turned back to it's usually blushed coloring. It had taken her several moments before she understood what the jumbled words had meant. Her fingers twitched in her lap as she turned her head as far as she could without the pain seeping back into her body. Which in itself wasn't all that far.
She trusted him, that much she knew. But her mother did not, and probably a good thing the Woman wasn't home for the time being. Opening and closing her mouth to say something, Teiluj was acutely aware of how dry her throat felt. Turning so her back was completely to Nkole. Moving was painful but eventually the fabric over Teiluj's shoulders slipped down towards her elbows. Reaching forward the young woman quickly grabbed up what little cloth lay on the bed to better hide her self, still wanting to appear somewhat dignified even in this state. She wondered if perhaps it would have been better if she had stayed out in the forest until she was able to better focus her magic.
"Please be gentle..." Teiluj whispered, closing her eyes as she prepared for the cold moist feeling she expected would come with the salve.

Nkole knew he shouldn't be so...interested in seeing her undress. Especially since she was hurt and this was strictly just to help apply the ointment to the areas she couldn't reach. But he was a man and it was hard not to be interested when it was a girl he really cared about. Chewing on his lower lip even harder he averted his eyes when she went to get a blanket to cover herself and remained on the bed. Swallowing he followed after her trying to keep his mind out of the gutter.
"Iis it more comfortable for you to sit?" Nkole questioned as he thought it could be better for her to stand..he wasn't sure. The one thing he did know is he wanted her as comfortable as possible. "Ah...whatever is best for you...sitting standing...um...how much ointment should I be putting on?"

Teiluj shifted nervously on the bed only then realizing where they were located. Her face remained the deep red as she nodded slowly. Yes it was easier for her to sit than stand with the pain in her side. "Y-yes...u-u-uhm... abo... well... just a thin layer. N-not much..." Her fingers tightened their grip on the blanket draped across her chest. "I-it's not like I can stand really... I... I can't really... not without pulling the sheets of the bed... and... I don't..." Teiluj didn't want to admit she wasn't strong enough to pull the sheets with her while sporting the injuries that she was.
Her mind raced with various scenarios of what her mother would say should she return at the time. Mentally cursing her lack of focus Teiluj turned to look back at Nkole, the blush still evident on her face. "Thank you, for helping me like this."

The young Oban nodded his head slowly, moving to join her on the bed although pausing a moment before he allowed his weight to fully settle on it. It felt strange to be sitting here, Teiluj's bare back exposed to him, his body alarmingly aware of the fact she wore no shirt. Swallowing he opened the jar and placed the lid at his side. Then scooping a small amount with his fingers he glanced back at her back, eyebrows furrowing as he spotted the rather nasty looking bruises.
"Jeeze...Teiluj maybe you should really see a healer.." he breathed as he went to one of the nastier looking bruises and hesisitated before letting his fingers touch her skin. "I am going to apply it okay?" He warned her before he tried as gently as possible to put the ointment on as she had described.

Teiluj squeaked a little and pinched her eyes shut against the pain and chill on her wounds. Shaking her head slowly. "I... I tried to get help from the other healers around her before... but... but... they turned me away for some unexplained reason..." Teiluj was hesitant to mention it had happened when she sought them out for help when Nkole was unconscious and she had brought him back home.
Her antenna twitched against the pain realizing it was easier to focus on the area's Nkole touched. Lifting her right shoulder a little tried to turn that focus on places she could touch her own magic shifting through her body. "Besides the only reason I can't ... I can't heal is... well... I'm distracted, I can't seem to focus... till now." Her face blushed as she could feel her own healing magic and the potion work it's way into her.

Frowning again Nkole wasn't entirely sure but ...he felt that Teiluj was leaving out parts of her story on purpose. He wanted her to be honest with him but he also didn't want to pry, he did however figure that whatever happened wasn't a good thing.
"Well...wasn't the man who was teaching you a healer? Couldn't we go seek his aid?" He inquired recalling she had been seeing an older male shifter by the name of Takoda when she had begun using her magic.
"Look I know you are hiding something from me...what really happened while you were out? These don't look like injuries you'd suffer from day to day..." Nkole stated with a frown.

Her magic scattered as her concentration left her healing. Feeling a little frustrated Teiluj sighed before Nkole had mentioned Takoda. Her head instantly shot up and towards the window giving view to the forest. She had nearly forgotten her teacher, guilt crushed her as she closed her eyes. She didn't really have a clue where to go looking for him. It wasn't like he hung around that lake or something, and her mother wasn't home to interrogate about his whereabouts.
"I don't..." Teiluj started before her back stiffened against the pain and Nkoles question. Turning around slowly with her increased mobility Teiluj placed one of her hands on his. Making sure to keep the other hand holding the cloth tightly against her chest. Forgetting their predicament Teiluj's brows furrowed. He was more perceptive than she thought and his question hurt, quickly squeezing his hand before relaxing Teiluj licked her lips slowly as she mulled over how to say it.
"They're not," Teiluj mumbled, "I got cornered by some Alkidike sisters..." Her eyes fell to her lap shamefully, mentally struggling to hold back the tears that stubbornly wanted out. "I was just in the market looking for something to help you when..." Her hand gave his another squeeze. "When they well it was a big fight... and... that's when they saw me..." Squeezing his hand a little harder as Teiluj struggled to let the information out.
"They wanted to make an example of me. Because I'm different... I'm not like anyone else. I'm not pure, and because I have so much earthling in me they find me... no, I am repulsive, I'm tainted, and they don't want me here..." Flinching at her own vocalized words Teiluj turned her back to Nkole again. She didn't want to see the possible disdain on his face. The possible agreement that she was repulsive. Didn't want to hear anything, her shoulders slumped forward as she tried to return her shirt to it's proper place on her body.

Sensing that perhaps he should of let things be, he still felt that it was better that Teiluj let out what was obviously eating her up inside. Her hand on his stilled his application of the ointment, some of it smeared onto her fingers but he didn't care as holding her hand was a new thing for him. Listening to her story he reached up, his eyes staring straight into hers before he cupped her cheek.
"Don't ever say that again about yourself. I don't care what these 'sisters' had to say about you but they are wrong. You are a beautiful, kind and gentle young woman. And if they don't want you then that is their loss and my gain. I want everything about you. Your smile, that look on your eyes when your studying, your commitment to those around you. " Nkole stated rather firmly, and perhaps a bit formally. "You understand? It doesn't matter what they think..." He managed as he stroked her cheek with his thumb.

Teiluj's whole body seemed to jerk as Nkoles hand rose to her face. The tears that had pooled in her eyes fell at the gentle touch. She allowed her head to turn to look at Nkole her whole body stilled the world outside fell silent on her ears as Nkole spoke. What? What was he saying!? Her body started trembling, his gain? More tears slipped forward as she leaned her head into his hand finding comfort in his touch.
Her hand rose as her fingers slid across his hand. Threading between his lingering quietly there before opening her eyes to look at Nkole again. "You want me?" Confusion swam through her mind, made her thoughts fuzzy her eyes focused on his letting go of his hand Teiluj moved her hand hesitantly letting her fingers brush against Nkoles jaw, following it towards the back of his head where the injury he had sustained was. "I promised I would heal you..." She hesitated again, leaning forward and brushing her forehead against his feeling for a fever.

Nkole smiled gently at Teiluj it looked almost unnatural on him as he had typically been the kinda of man who had a permanent scowl on his lips. That had been then, and though on occasion his old self seemed to seep out he was entirely a new man. Unburdened by the social norms of his people, the arrogance that he had grown up...he was free to think properly, and prioritize what was most important to him.
Letting her rest against his forehead he smiled again and gave a small laugh.
"I want to get better yes...but ..I've been thinking that its not a bad thing I can't remember anything before you...it may seem corny but ...you've become my entire world. And I love it." He murmured as he dared a small kiss against her nose.
"Promise me..you'll never undersell yourself again. Understand? You are like a rare gem amongst all the rest."

The feel of his lips against her skin was something entirely new to Teiluj. It was pleasant, and it had completely distracted her from her own pain. Leaning back a little Teiluj let the hand from the back of Nkoles head drop to his shoulder. Blinking a few times as she looked at him. There was no mistake that could ever be made now with the words he was saying. She wanted to tell him that he needed to remember, that it wasn't fair to him that he didn't. Let alone whoever else in his life could hold such importance. His sister being the only one she knew to think of.
Those thoughts made her feel uneasy and yet as he spoke again. He put her at ease, almost as if he seemed to see past her outward appearance and saw her for who she was instead. Swallowing as she nodded Teiluj sucked in a deep breath and regretted it. She still hurt, thought not nearly as much as she had before. "I will try." She agreed.

Perhaps he sensed that Teiluj wasn't quite herself he gave her a firmer look, like he didn't want to hear her protest what he had said. When she spoke however agreeing with him his expression softened before it switched to concern, a hand coming out to hold onto her shoulder to steady her.
"Don't move too much, I am sorry I distracted you. Stop worrying about me I will look after you right now okay?" He pressed as he tried to get her to turn back around so he could continue applying the salve.
"When your better I ..was hoping we could do some traveling together. I mean I don't mind staying here..if you would prefer. But.." It wasn't that he didn't enjoy it here, but her mother was beginning to make him really uncomfortable.

Over the span of time Teiluj had been spending so close to Nkole she found it harder and harder to protest against the small things. Smiling softly back at Nkole, Teiluj felt a strange sense of joy in Nkoles softer expression. As if there happened to be a side of him only she knew about. Relaxing into his support Teiluj nodded and turned slowly back to the position they were once in.
Together. She liked that idea. Trying to focus her mind on the larger injury on her side Teiluj turned slightly to look back at Nkole before pausing and lowering her head. "Where would you like to go...? I can't really take you to the isle, even I find it hard to get that close." She fell silent for a moment in thought working on her healing before trying to speak up again only to fall silent. "I want to be where you are..." She finally managed.

THe young man laughed at her question, he was the aboslute wrong person to ask really. He didn't even remember where he came from. Never mind choose where they should go. "Why not everywhere? I would like to relive the world I can't remember." He chuckled, as he continued to apply the ointment.
"Though perhaps once the pups are a bit older and stronger...then they can travel with us." Nkole was excited by this idea as he really wanted to move around a bit more and see the world again. Something made him feel like he was missing out..but he wasn't entirely sure what or why.
"Maybe we will meet people who know me. Could be interesting."
