▸ How We Met! :: It all started one morning while Arren was out for a jog. It was the early hours of the morning, the sun still fighting to peek over the large metal and concrete buildings that made up Katarina. Her morning jog kept her to the outskirts of the city, the teen much preferring to spend her days outside the city, except for the occasional food and much needed supply runs.
The streets were quiet, minus the occasional bark of a random canine here and there. Arren paid little attention to anything else, falling into the rhythm of jogging and letting muscle memory take over for a time. She loved mornings like this, the air still cool and enjoyable for a time before it warmed to give them perfect beach weather.
An odd clacking noise caught her attention, the sound bringing her back from her thoughts as she looked for the source. When she found it, she almost laughed, almost. Though she was still too surprised to even do that. Beside her, a rather large Zoroark was keeping pace with her. It was a magnificent Pokemon, it's fur white. She couldn't help but to admire her new found jogging partner.
Realizing it had been noticed, the Zoroark seemed to grin and it picked up it's pace, starting to move ahead of Arren. 'C'mon then!' it seemed to say, the Pokemon offering up a very clear challenge. One that had Arren grinning as she pushed to put herself ahead of the Zoroark.
It continued on, the two pushing the other on, the pair going faster and faster before it had become an all out race. Though Arren had no chance in winning at all. A snowball's chance, really. Despite that, they carried on, Arren pushing herself at the Zoroark's insistence. Who was she to ignore the call?
Before too long, she was jogging to a stop, her chest burning with the strain of the long haul. "Wooo~" she panted, letting herself bend a bit at the waist, hands resting on her knees. "Y-you win pup. I don't stand a chance."
A snort was all she got, the Zoroark's tail wagging a bit before it was on it's way again, leaving Arren behind it to catch her breath.
"Same time tomorrow?" She called after it, watching as the white Zororark turned back, brilliant red markings covering it's forehead and shoulders now. There was a rather well timed blink and then it was racing away. "I'll take that as a yes."
