Galena stopped and stared down the canine creature, as if pondering something, and then turned her attention to the other captain with the mangled arm. She would have to inspect the thing later, and there would be ample opportunity.
"We're not walking anywhere, you're wobbling, and I'm not stupid."
Sometimes she wondered if she was the only person in the Negaverse who took blood loss seriously. She grabbed his arm, the one that didn't look like a meat market reject, and teleported them somewhere familiar.
The Rift was replaced by the sleek, hardwood floors of Elle's home, and Galena had promptly powered down to avoid any risk of auras giving anything away. She made a half hearted call for Desdemona to see if she was home and went to the cabinet to extract a first aid kit.
"I am 80% sure you are going to need a hospital visit but let's see if we can try to staunch the major issue before going on a little trip. Come on, let's see it."

Teleporting was way, way worse when you were injured, Leucite determined as they ended up in Elle's house. Frowing, he also powered down - regretting it instantly as the power sucked right out of him and he almost collapsed to the floor, instead gripping the back of her couch with his good hand to stay upright. He had been wearing a short sleeve shirt, so his mangled arm was pretty open for her to take a look at. Two clean puncture marks and several smaller lining them was the extent of the bite he'd sustained - the blood was oozing slowly now, in time with his heartbeat. There wasn't any visible swelling, but the flesh was a deep-deep purple from the pressure of the beast's bite. He chewed his cheek, then leaning his hip against the couch, he reached up and using his good hand, pressed down on the closest pressure point in his arm to try and stem the bleeding. He lifted his arm up over his head as well, to try and keep it above his heart. God, he was actually glad he'd paid attention when his father had made him take those SABC courses... "D-don't want to bleed on your floors... made enough mess in here to last me a lifetime."

"While I would count spilt tea an offense to be judged harshly, these floors have survived a few drops of blood before and they'll survive again," Elle drolled flatly, grabbing the first aid kit and gently taking his arm to lead it down just enough so she could inspect it, and then wipe some of the excess blood away with a towel.
"In the event it isn't venomous, hopefully, it can be suitably disinfected. The doctors will give you something more industrial grade as soon as they identify an animal bite, but you should put something on it as soon as possible," She said, and didn't seem to leave any room for him to think about his options before she pulled a clean towel out of her box and dabbed it with a dark brown solution. "Watered down betadine won't hurt so much, don't worry," She said.
Elle had a habit of being more monotone than her words seemed to imply, but she was at least going through the motions of being comforting, especially when she patted him on the chest with her free hand as she carefully cleaned the puncture marks. She had a gentle touch, and she knew Antiope had meant something by saying she was soft, but she thought it was best to just keep to situations where being soft was a boon and not a sign of inexperience with hard work.

As the brown solution touched his wound he made a show of hissing and tried to maintain eye contact with her. "I'm a trained fighter - you didn't have to water that s**t down too much, I can take it if you really want to be safe." It stung like a mother, but he honestly didn't mind. He'd been stitched up a few times and they hadn't even given him the option of anything to dull that fun. "I'm not too worried... Can probably just wrap it up and call it a night - I really don't need to see a doctor." More to the point, he didn't really want to run into Amethyst right then - he wasn't sure if the other captain might be sore about how he'd acted during the interrogations of one of the captives. Oh well - he hadn't called him out so... "You're really good at this..." He chuckled softly finally calming own as she patted at the wound. "Not your first rodeo huh?"

"Dizziness and confusion will set in. After losing 1.5 liters," Elle started matter of factly. "You will start to feel weak, thirsty, and anxious and you should most definitely pay a visit to the local emergency room, regardless of magical military officer status."
That was as far as she seemed to push it, though. Instead she took his intention of going home as a cue to smooth a self adhesive bandage over the largest puncture wounds and quickly wrap the rest so he at least wouldn't drip all the way home.
"It is not remotely my first rodeo," She drolled. She gave his shoulder a bit of a stiff pat. "At least you didn't come out of this with scales and fur, dear. Safe travels home. I don't recommend the teleport, it's more difficult after you've been bleeding."

"I had good back up, Captain, so I'm sure that's part of it." Mathias said with a slow nod of his head. She was right about the dizziness, but he was trying really, really hard not to show it. He at least didn't feel overly confused - but then again it was her living room and therefore he didn't expect to even know where everything is. "Who knows, if I'd gone it alone I might be chasing my tail right about now." He laughed dryly at that - but he very much doubted it as well. "This is the part where I ask if I can crash out on your couch and sleep it off," Mathias said with a small smile. "Not like I have anyone to go home to anyhow - so it doesn't really matter where I sack out... Unless you have company coming?" He didn't even think he was imposing. He'd just gone and shown her up the least she could do is give him somewhere to sleep this off instead of dragging his sorry a** home walk of shame style.

Rude.
At least that was Elle's first thought as she twisted the rag in her hands. It would be equally rude to not host him, especially injured. Especially when he's demonstrated more talent in the first week of his captaincy than you have in months.
"Of course," She said, with a very light hint of a smile to stop herself from grimacing at her own thoughts of inadequacy. She closed up the kit and took it back to its place in the kitchen.
"Let me make up the couch so you can rest comfortably," She said, already digging a puffy spare comforter and pillows from the linen closet across the open space of a home. No one 'crashed' at Elle Adelardi's home. They were hosted, damn it.

Hosted or not - Mathias really wouldn't have cared. He appreciated the pillows and comforter all the same though. He'd couched surfed plenty - but this was the first time someone had made a to-do of it. So he'd hunkered down, thanked her, and it wasn't long before he was gone - out like a proverbial light. He was gone the next morning - an early riser even when he was nursing a wound. He'd folded up the comforter and left it and the pillows carefully stacked on the couch. In the kitchen, Elle would find a small (cheap) tin of tea and a note from Mathias. Note to Elle Thanks again, for letting me crash on your couch. It was actually really comfy and that is probably the first time anyone has actually whipped out a blanket and pillow for me. I rolled out of here super early, but since I was feeling better I figured I'd try and replace the tea that got wasted on my first trip here... It's probably not that great - I have NO idea what is even good as far as tea, so I just kinda... whatever I'm rambling now...Anyway... Thanks. Consider the tea a gift and an olive branch I guess - I mean... Crap...Anyway - Thanks. You were a great help in the Rift, and if you need anything, just let me know. I'll help in whatever way I can... I guess... Carneli And I think that's a wrap!
