Chaonis looked at her, squinting a bit to hide the smirk that wanted to break his facade. He watched her for a long moment, pretending to be very annoyed, before he scoffed and looked away.
"Of course it worked. You had the best weapon you could possibly find. But what does that mean? You have to have a bad a** senshi with you at all times, just to get a fight done? What if I wasn't here, and you had to fight that thing? What would you do then?"
He was ignoring the youma now, not intimidated it at all in the first place, and much less so now that it had half a broken face to deal with.
Letting her go continue the fight, though, he hung back. He watched her kick, nodding his head.
"Alright, dust that thing! You're on the right track. No more using your friendly neighborhood Chaonis, though."

Harmonia had to admit that Chaonis was right. What would I do if he wasn't here? That made her waver a bit as she stood there watching the youma struggle to it's feet after her kick. In fact, it was Chaonis again who caught her attention helped re-direct her thoughts. Right. Dust it.The youma was on it's feet but it was apparent it had no intention of continuing the fight and was looking for a way to escape. Realizing what it was trying to do Harmonia hurried in to give it another swift kick again. The last thing she wanted was for it to slip away and possibly hurt someone. I'd feel terrible! With it on it's side, Harmonia didn't even give it a chance to try and get it's legs underneath it before she gave it one last kick right under it's head. The jaws snapped upwards as the creatures head snapped back and the entire thing seemed to hold that position for a split second before disappearing into a pile of gray dust. Breathing heavy from her exertion, Chailee stared at the pile in front of her before looking back at Chaonis with a small smile on her face. As much help as she needed this had been the first fight she'd been in that she didn't royally mess up or end up on the receiving end of a beating.

Chaonis waited for her to dust the youma, nodding his head at her choice of method. It was the most direct way, and he supposed that was what they both wanted to see at this point.
He was not sure if he should be proud of her or not. After all, she had listened to his orders and she managed to beat the monster, after saying she was useless in a fight. It seemed like she had more skill than she wanted to admit.
She just needed a little push. Maybe patrolling with a partner would be the best option for her. Even so, she had to learn to take care of herself on her own, so she could survive when she absolutely had to. Not every fight was planned, or went the way they wanted it to, after all. Learning to improvise and fight was what they all needed at the start.
He clapped her a hard pat on the back, though, and grinned at her. Maybe a little harder than he needed to, but still.
"You did good, kid. For a newbie. But we are still going to have to work on you fighting on your own."

Chaonis's clap on the back made her take a small step forward to keep her balance but she didn't mind. She was proud of herself that she had managed to dust the youma but there was a small part of her that was a bit unsure about it. "Thanks, but I still needed your help though." She wrinkled her nose a bit before elaborating. "I mean...my magic does lean towards having a partner. Maybe I should just try to always be with someone..." She sighed and shrugged a bit. "I guess if I beat the enemy that's all that matters?" She wasn't sure how she felt about that but at the same time she knew they were at war so being the victors was what mattered, right? I don't want anyone to get hurt so there's not much choice there. Plus, I really don't want to have to be taking care of wounds and bruises myself or being carried to a hospital again."But yea...thanks for helping me. Even if it wasn't what you meant for me to do." A small mischevious smile spread across her face. "I did find use for my non-offensive magic though."

"Yeah, you did. I'm not saying you didn't. I won that fight, mostly. You just dusted it when it was softened up. Still, that was smart of you to use your magic like that. I get what you mean, that it's not good for a fight unless you have a partner with you."
He looked thoughtful, then shrugged.
"I think we can call this a successful training night. You did good, I guess. How about we meet up again in a few days and try again? Maybe find a nega for you to fight against."
He grinned wickedly at that, but it was probably not a joke.
"Or you can tell dad whatever day is good for you, and he'll tell me. Or whatever. Call me on the senshi phone. I'm always around. Just don't go getting into any big fights without someone else there, alright?" He cared, in his aloof, jerk like way. He did not want to see her getting hurt before she knew how to defend herself.

Oh it was very obvious to Harmonia that, despite her idea to use Chaonis to fight the Youma, he was the one who had given the thing its first real wound and allowed her to finish it off. Right now she needed help. She needed a partner until she could become better with her physical fighting cause without a partner her body was the only thing she had as a definite weapon. "Yea. I think meeting up again in a few days would be better." She was afraid she'd chicken out. "A...a nega?" She wasn't sure about that one but nodded her head in a very, very hesitant motion of agreement. "Uh...sure..." She sounded anything but sure about that idea. Beating the youma had given her a small increase in confidence but it was far from being at the point that she wanted to face off with a nega again. Both times had...well...not ended well for her. "Yea. I'll patrol with someone if I can." She smiled warmly up at Chaonis. "Thank you. I mean it. I...I really need the help and...yea." She chuckled at her fumbling words.

"No worries. Don't get all gushy about it now. We've only just started. I'll see you again in a few days, alright? Try not to get killed in the interim."
He pat her on the shoulder, but this time it was a much softer touch. He was actually proud of her, and he wanted her to know that he was there to support her, in his subtle way. He would never come out and say something like that, of course, but he could at least drop some hints.
If she got them or not was up to her.
"Night."
He walked off, waving his hand over his shoulder as he did so, but not looking back. He was not heading back toward the library, apparently having somewhere else to be. Really, he had no destination. But the walk away good byes were always the coolest.
