“Sneakin’ up’s just half the battle.” Ouen reminded, but chose to let the other get away with his boast. He was, after all, seeking to become a part of the man’s band, and he had a feeling that getting into technical arguments about combat strategies probably wasn’t the best way to do it.

Save that stuff for later, maybe.

But for the time-being, Talin seemed happy enough with what he had seen. He even suggested that there were some folks he knew who could show him a thing or two about training Shenandoah, which definitely got his interest. All in all, it seemed like a good deal right now -- wreak some havoc, have a band to run with, and maybe learn a few things.

“Arright, boss. ‘m glad you’ll have me, to be honest. Was startin’ to get mighty borin’ wanderin’ around with only this furball to talk to… it’s one thing when you’re a kid, y’know, but things gotta change eventually.” He rubbed the growing radaku’s head and nodded when the other explained the need to keep the camp hidden.

“Lead the way, then. We’ll keep up, no sweat.”

post 9 Sorry for the wait! Been trying to tag with Talin but his muse went quiet.

Talin nodded in agreement; sneaking was always half the battle! Sometimes more if they never saw you coming.
"Well you will find plenty to talk too... and people to fight with." He chuckled; had he been like that as a youngster? All wanting to join up for adventure nad thrill and chaos? Probably...

"We do not have a group name nor do I have any title other than Boss. I prefer boss or just Talin in fact. It's easier to hide and escape hunters if there's no name for what they are hunting. The Bandit King learned that the hard way." He'd also gotten too large and had one main large outpost for the hunters to raid. Talin did not intend for that too happen! "The only sign we wear is a scarf like this... Though some hide it during raids so its not obvious. Only reason I do this is so that new people, like yourself, do not get thought of as a hunter tracking us down." And because Talin, despite the bad idea, liked having a symbol. "It'll keep you safe entering the camps and the like."

Talin had a few extra on his person and he handed on of the purple with gold thread embroidered scarves to Ouen.

no worries! thanks so much for finishing this up. ow o we can do our last two posts, and then i can get to working on Ouen's growth. we'll have these two rp again right after i guess, to get their confrontation going? B)

Ouen had to say, he agreed with much of Talin’s theory on running a bandit ring. As exciting as it might have been to be part of an infamous bandit group, known by some impressive-sounding name… the cautious secrecy that Talin proposed made a great deal of sense to him. One didn’t need a famous name to be effective at the sort of thing that he imagined he was going to get to do -- swoop in on wealthy caravans and send Obans scattering into the jungle. And if Talin was smart enough to figure this out, surely he was smart enough to run other things the right way?

He took the offered scarf, but made no immediate motion to wear it. He had his own sash already, after all -- tattered and torn as it was, it was an important trophy for him -- and the style of this purple embroidered thing seemed a bit rich for his tastes. He tucked it away for the time-being, figuring that he wasn’t likely to be attacked by bandits it he was approaching the camp with their leader by his side, anyway.

“That all there sounds fine to me.” He said instead. “I ain’t interested in bein’ hunted down, no way, or drawin’ more attention to us than we gotta. I done lived in this here jungle since I was almost just a baby, an’ for most a’ that time no one was any wiser of it. I can stay outta sight when I gotta.”

post 10!! I love how he talks XD we need a meeting of him and Mynshaka just to have fun accented discussions by country boys XD]

Talin chuckled; the twang in the others voice was most amusing to listen to! He was probably going to be good at making folk think him slow or simple.... might be handy later on down the line if the lad turned out to be better than some naive brat looking for action?

"We'll see how well you do in the plains of tale or the deserts of Oba.... Attacking only in Juahur isn't good for business, too many gung ho alkidikes and shifters that like to hunt bandits down on sheer principle. I've got some camps in Tale and am setting one up further inside Oba to get at the merchants who take safer routes once outside their own borders." He eyed the boy when the sash wasn't put on immediately. but didn't make a fuss yet. Kid would understand that it was s in of belonging once he got stopped from entrering hte camp a few times...

yussss. i've been wanting them to meet since forever. B)

aaaand we're done here! can't wait for these two to face off. >)

“‘m sure I’ll do fine.” Ouen shrugged, continuing in his usual twang. He didn’t himself really know that his accent was something that other people might take notice in. He’d never really noticed it himself, having developed this way of speaking without anyone to tell him what was right and what was wrong. Had he grown up with his mother, she would have at least shyly mentioned that he ought to try and properly pronounce a few words once in a while…

But Ouen grew up in the trees with a radaku puppy for a companion, and he didn’t know better.

“I ain’t stupid. I’ll do an’ learn from other folks, ‘bout how to get by in the deserts an’ the plains an’ all that. My lance’ll be just as sharp anywhere, I figure. An’ I’s never did do intend on stayin’ in Jauhar all my life or nothin’. I wanna see other places. I ain’t in no rush to see ‘em, mind you, but I ain’t scared of travelin’ out.”

Actually, he was sort of excited to hear about this matter of being able to strike in Tale and in Oba -- and relieved to know that he would have company as he set out to these unfamiliar places. It felt good to be part of a group, he figured. Even if he hadn’t met any of them yet, save for their clever-eyed leader… it felt good.
