"After this, we get to play," the celebi reminded Talia when she turned back to him. He gave her a smile, and glanced over his shoulder at Ellie."Some look chocolate!" Brenny was delighted with this discovery. He'd definitely have to bring Connie here. "Are you open on weekends?" he asked. Connie was rarely free, unless it was on a weekend. "I'll have that one," he pointed to one of the pink ones Talia had been admiring. Next time, he decided, he'd have to stray from his comfort zone. Maybe get a green one!
"Are you going to get one?" he asked, looking to Gideon. "You have to get one! It wouldn't be fair, us eating in front of you!"

Talia nodded and smiled up at the bakery owner. Gideon was glad to see her so pleased. Everything seemed to frightening at first for the poor thing. Maybe making a new friend would help after all.
Ellie nodded, gave a soft affirmative and began to pull the poffins from the case with little pieces of wax paper.
"Oh, uh... sure." Really he preferred the tiramisu cupcakes but it wouldn't be fair to wave it in the face of two kids with muffins. "Surprise me."
Ellie nodded again, smiling, and then handed over the bag and quoted a price. It was in fact rather discounted from those listed, but one would have to compare to the price tags to tell. Gideon handed the money over easily and took the bag.
"Thank you," he said, and then turned to the kids. "Are we eating here or out there?" Where ever the kids wanted to play was fine with him.

"Outside?" Brenny suggested, smiling up at Gideon. "Come on, Talia! We can eat our Poffins and then play! I know all sorts of outside games!" Indoor games were harder. There were indoor rules one had to follow, indoor voices and such things Brenny wasn't good at paying attention to. "I'll come back again," he promised Ellie. He had never seen a bakery that was so welcoming to everyone. Of course, he'd never been to one before.
He led the way outside. He was excited to teach Talia a new game. "Your Daddy can play with us too," he said. "If Ellie wasn't busy she could play too!" He offered his hand to Talia. "Ready to play?" And eat. But playing was more important!

Talia received her poffin and took a big bite, pleased by the taste. These were great! Better than Gideon's, even, and his were pretty good! She smiled happily up at the man who touched her shoulder affectionately and continued with the pair outside.
When Brenny spoke again, the girl nodded. She didn't know many games but she was willing to learn. When they got out to the sidewalk she looked at Brenny, down at her poffin, back to Brenny. She began to eat it rather quickly, wanting to get to the playing. Gideon laughed.
"Slow down and chew, you'll choke!"
Talia looked to him and her chewing slowed. She decided to talk between bites.
"What do you wanna play?"

Brenny, seeing Talia dig in, took a bite of his own. It was better than he had expected! Better than the last Poffin he'd had! He beamed at her, and then Gideon. "This is the best ever!" He declared. He studied Talia for a moment before grinning. "Hey! No rushing with your poffin. You won't taste it as much if you rush!" He took another bite of his poffin. Despite his words, he was rather eager to get on with playing as well.
"Well we can play hide n seek, that's where you hide and I look for you. Or I hide and you look for me. Or tag, that's where we run! I'll chase you abd you run away and if I touch you that means you chase me. I'll be it first and show you!"

Talia nodded. Okay, so they could eat in peace before playing. She was okay with that.
Gideon just grinned. "Good, I'm glad!"
He took a bite of his own. Huh. Imagine these things had been developed for Pokemon alone. People would be missing out.
"Um," Talia said, then was lost in thought a moment, "I've never done those." She hadn't even been able to walk before recently, and never needed to hide! She worried she might be terrible at them both. "What do you like better?"

Brenny took another bite of his poffin. Yes, he would have to bring Connie here. While Connie might protest that they needed to not spend frivolously, the celebi thought these were worth it. They really were the best! "What kind is yours?" he asked, looking to Gideon. "Do you have a favorite flavor?" "Lets play hide n seek," Brenny decided. It would be easier for Talia to learn, and he didn't think there would be very many hiding spots big enough for Gideon, making him an easy find should she be it. "I'll be it first. You guys hide while I count. Then Talia can be It!"

"Uh. I'm not sure," Gideon admitted, looking down at his red pastry. He didn't really have a favorite, no. He didn't make or eat them often. Of course that might have to change with a bipedal pokechild in his house who had just developed a taste for artisan poffins.
"Hold on, let's get to the park first," he said. Tag, hide and seek, all games meant for little kids to not be running directly in pedestrian traffic or skirting cars. Talia slowed to walk beside the man and looked to Brenny.
"You can hide anywhere?"
"Anywhere safe," Gideon amended quickly.

"You'll have to try more, then," Brenny said, not at all put off by Gideon's answer. "If Ellie shows me how to make them someday I'll make them for you and Connie." He wondered if Connie had ever had a day like this: a day of poffins, friend making and hide n seek. He'd have to plan that for next weekend. "Good plan!" He had forgotten in his excitement that streets were dangerous places. He didn't tend to like cars: he had had his first encounter with a truck as a pokemon. He hadn't liked them then. Safe was always a good plan. He nodded at Gideon. "Giddy has to play too," He said. "He can be the seeker!"

Gideon opened his mouth to protest, but it just dissolved into a smile and a shake of his head. He was going to look like a fool, but it'd make the kids happy.
"Alright," he replied with a nod, heading for the grassy area, "but there's some rules. No going near the street, no running across the street, and no hiding with other people's families, alright?"
Talia nodded. "What do you count to?" AS of yet she couldn't count too-too high, but she was learning!
