"So what you're saying is...." Chrysoar grinned. "We're almost there! Alright last one to the watering hole is grouchy kalona!" with that the stallion was springing forward counting on his light footsteps to ensure that the grouchy kalona would never be him, no sireee!

((Adding Rio because we have too many on one team))

"Wait - she did What?" Rio repeated starring at his companions convinced they were lying through their teeth with some of the stories they were telling. The stallions had been meeting at this quietly little watering hole for a while and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Upon reflection, they were an odd little group, he had to admit. All had different family backgrounds, different personalities, and when they weren't together oftentimes different interests. But he knew he could depend on these guys if he ever got into a sticky situations, that they would support him without question (although perhaps not without a few suggestive looks and pointed jokes at times...) But in his life thus far Rio found he had some difficulties making a lasting impression on souls. Oftentimes some would wander away from him, other times they flat out told him to get out. He just hoped these guys would never ditch him like that.

Silverwing groaned as he was forced to recount the tale, "She pushed me into the water. No hint, no warning - one minute we're having a nice little conversation and the next I'm struggling to keep my head above water. Literally! And it wasn't just any old river or stream, it was practically frozen! I was breaking ice off my feathers for the rest of the day!"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 30, 2015 7:06 pm

With a laugh, Lori took off after him, tossing his head so that his curls would catch just right in the wind for the best visual effect.

Pinzin stared after them, gritting his teeth. Grouchy kalona? He'd show them a grouchy kalona, just you wait.... He followed after them at a more sedate pace, trying to figure out where he could get a cooperative kalona.

~~~~
Rynga laughed as he recalled that day. "To be fair, my friend, it could have been that comment you made about her tail," he suggested, with sly amusement. "Mares don't often take criticism well. Make note of that, dear Rio."
User Image
Right about then, a sluring voice would cut across all the other conversations, singing just slightly off key, "Juan is the loneliest number that you'll ever do! Two can be as bad as Juan! It's the loneliest number since the number Juan!"
Silverwing was about to defend himself (she said she wanted his honest opinion - how was he supposed to know that still meant to lie?) but his attention was quickly diverted to the sullen mini. "Oh no," he shook her head and went over to comfort his little friend. He wrinkled his nose just slightly as he got closer, "You've been at the fruit juices again, haven't you, buddy?"
Rio followed the others with an expression of pure confusion. While he'd been spending enough time with Rynga and Silverwing to have a fair feel for the types of stallions they were, the mini was still a bit of a mystery to him. That plus he'd never see the fellow in this condition before, of course with the way the others were acting this may not have been the first time the stallion had gotten into the....juices. "What was her name?" he asked without thinking, trying to figure out exactly what was going on with this situation.
Having been the fastest of the three on his feet, and not noticing that Pinzin had no interest at all in racing, the swift footed stallion of gold reached the water's edge first but all was not what he expected. At that moment Chrysoar skirted to a rocky stop at the edge of the watering hole. He had heard the wailing and thought perhaps there was some damsel in distress or something around here and he could have a chance to be the hero he knew he could be if he was bigger, tougher, and stronger (smarter wasn't on his list because honestly the stallion figured he was clever enough to manage in any situation....the stallion also occasionally lived in a fantasy world). But when he looked around all he saw were stallions and it was a little mini one that was making all the racket. "Hey..." he pouted slightly as he looked around once more, trying to get his eyes to see what his brain was telling him Should be there. "Where are the ladies?" He looked back to see the others, his expression one of mild heartbreak - what would be disappointment in others tended to be magnified a bit on his face - especially when he was running with Lori.
Juan stared at Rio for a full second before he burst out in overly dramatic sobbing. "RHONDA! WHY RHONDA WHY?!" he collapsed into a heap at Silverwing's hooves. "JUUUUAN IS THE LONLIEST NUMBER, WORSE THAN TWO! IT'S JUST NO GOOD ANYMORE SINCE YOU WENT AWAY!"
Rynga sniffed the puddle near Juan and sneezed. "Smells like the strong stuff," he muttered, shaking his head."Poor sap."
Pinzin smirked when he saw the lack of females. Anything that would disappoint either of these idiots was a good thing in his book.
"Lo, do my hears hear a brokenhearted soul?" Lori perked up, the idea of playing matchmaker making his day.
Pinzin just couldn't win.
Silverwing rolled his eyes and gave Rio a pointed look. You Never ask the guy what her name is.... But right now he had to focus on his fallen friend. "Easy there buddy," he said patting Juan's back with his hoof. "There, there, your amongst friends now, remember. We've all been there. Easy does - take a few deep breaths."
Rio winced as the mini stallion began wailing again. Having never really 'been there' himself he was struggling with how to help (and not make it worse...again). "Well...maybe she'll come back?" he offered weakly.
"Hear it and see it," Chrysoar said nodding in the direction of the group of stallions crowded around the mini. "At your 3. Poor guy looks like he's in a real state. You think you can help him out? We don't even have any chick around here for us..." he pouted again at the prospect. The golden stallion was really looking forward to regaling some lovely ladies with stories of his heroism. Some of the stories were even true this time!
((Adding Gregor Smirnov))
User ImageDeep beneath the waters of the pool Gregor was mulling over his options. Seeing as Gregor's skin was somewhat sensitive to the bright light of the sun Gregor tended to prefer to leave his watery dwelling only at night when the much kinder moon ruled the sky. However despite his very large and well trained lungs, the water loving soquili had to return to the surface periodically throughout the day to exhale the old air and take in fresh new air - usually not a problem. Today however there seemed to be a large gathering around his quiet little pool and while the mighty Gregor was not scared (for nothing scared Gregor) he was finding these strangers to be most amusing and wanted to continue listening to their silly stories and bickering. While milling the situation over the stallion folded his broad, bat like wings around him and propelled himself lazily with his eel like tail. Gregor could attempt to surface briefly for air, he considered. However, Gregor's bright coloring, while making things fair for enemy on battlefield (Gregor was so strong and mighty, it would be unfair if his enemies did not see him coming), was not best for.... subterfuge. And if the others saw him it would interrupt them from their amusing arguments - and Gregor hated to lose his entertainments. He reasoned that he could remain under the water for a while longer, especially as he was reclining and relaxing (most important activities for an afternoon). Besides - things were just getting good. Gregor had watched the first group with the white one, blue one, and brown one for a while but now this little waily one had appeared and instead of just hearing them recount a tale of trouble and woe - Gregor was able to watch it unfold before his eyes! The stallion casually snapped up a fish that was swimming by so that he could enjoy his dinner with a show!
Ryna bumped his head against Rio's side, trying to get him to shut up, but the damage was already done. He slid an aggravated glance at Silverwing, knowing that his friend would understand the mistake Rio had made while the younger stallion's ears were still burning from Juan's tale of woe.
Juan was warming to his story, ignoring Silverwing's attempts to calm him. “Come back?” he repeated, looking at Rio with wide eyes. His tail curled around his hooves and he crouched down a bit so that he would look like a lost little kitten. “Come back?” He took a deep, shuddering breath, those wide eyes filled up with tears. His tone went up a pitch as he cried, “She’s never coming back! She had my heart! She stomped on it!” He started caterwauling, “She’s a top barrel race, cowboy chaser. She drinks tecate like it’s goin’ out of style. She’s real good lookin’ and pretty good at hookin’ any man she wants with just a smile,” he smiled goofily as if remembering her fondly. “I drawed a strong one, a big full grown one. He punched me out when I hit the ground,” he threw himself to the ground as if he’d just been slugged and rolled over onto his back. “I came to with a panoramic view, looking for my baby. She was nowhere around! I looked up,” he rolled to his feet and looked up, “I looked down,” he dropped his head down and stared around. “I ain’t seen her since the second go-‘round. Somebody said they seen her headin’ out of town!” he looked up at them, mournfully. “Now she ran away with a rodeo clown. SHE RAN AWAY WITH A RODEO CLOWN!” He sobbed, throwing himself into Rio, the clearly most sympathetic.
"Such a tale of woe!" Lori chriped, trying hard not to grin. "Yes... yes, I think we should help him, Chrys. There may be few ladies here now, but we can always take the little fellow elsewhere!"
Pinzin heaved a heavy sigh and found a nice, quiet corner to sip water and wait for the idiots to get themselves killed.
Rio gasped as the little fellow clung to him, "You mean to say that you got into a....a brawl?" He was shocked. To lose a lady was a tragedy in its own right, but to be involved in such a fight and then lose a lady...well it was...it was unheroic and dishonorable! "Who would do such a thing..." he wandered to himself somewhat oblivious to the glances and stares of his compatriots.
"What the hell is a rodeo clown?" Silverwing couldn't help wondering out loud to himself.
Chrysoar tilted his head to the side considering Lori's suggestion. "I suppose you're right. But he seems so distraught right now, how do we help him out?"
Gregor munched and wondered what manner of warrior would be this 'rodeo clown' - he thought the warrior was somewhat lacking in honor to beat up such a little man and steal his girl. But perhaps Gregor did not see whole situation, maybe clown was same size as little man, then that would be more fair. Maybe even it was a case of true love or some such matter. Even Gregor could not argue with true love and he knew well that it did not always find one at time that is convenient. Either way, the poor small man was most upset and his friends were not very helpful. Gregor didn't know who he was feeling bad for.
Juan ducked his head to hide his grin before he warmed to his story. “Oh, he was a mean one! He really was a heel! He was as cuddly as a cactus, as charming as an eeeeeel! He was a bad banana with a greasy black peel! A monster, his heart’s an empty hole! His brain was full of spiders, and he had garlic in his soul!”
"I haven't the faintest clue," Rynga murmured to Silverwing. "Just how much has he had to drink?"
"Distraction, my darling Chrysoar! Distraction! The only way to get over heartbreak is to find another maiden fair to tend the cracks!"
Pinzin stared at Lori, aghast. Surely the pink stallion wasn't that stupid...
"Garlic in his soul?" Rio repeated patting the little stallion on the back. "I...well that seems like it would be very uncomfortable. And not smell very good either...ew."
Silverwing whistled, "Well now..." He eyed up the mini and shook his head, "I'd say....at least twice his body weight...at least..."
"I think he's proving to be a pretty good distraction all on his own," Chrysoar remarked watching the mini wail. He glanced over at Pinzin and felt bad for the guy. Not being able to talk, Chrysaor was pretty sure the big stallion was more sensitive to sound than others and there was an awful lot of sound coming out of that little guy.
Eh, perhaps Gregor did have story then. It seemed some scoundrel took the small man's girl. Was most unfair to take something that did not belong to him. Was much worse to be stealing girl that did not belong to him. Not that girls belonged to anyone or even boys for that matter. Gregor might be little old fashion in his thinking, but he was no monster - only looked like one.
Juan crumbled, his small body shaking with apparent sobs. Tears even leaked out in the effort to smother his cackles. Some days his friends were simply too easy.
"Clearly," Rynga sighed. "We should take him home before he passes out, methinks."
"The little one certainly does have a set of lungs on him," Lori agreed, cringing slightly. "Such must be the depth of his sorrow!"
Pinzin wondered, not for the first time why he was there. Though if the small stallion kept that high pitch keening up, he would give serious consideration to stepping on him.
"Yeah well, for such a little guy he is a pain to carry," Silverwing whispered to Rynga while Rio continued his futile attempts to comfort Juan.
Rio continued to awkwardly pat the mini on his back while shooting his friends, although he was starting to reconsider that position, serious looks, pleas really, for help. He didn't really think he was going to get any assistance any time soon.
"Lori....I think if you're going to help this guy out you should do it...and soon..." he said slowly, just resisting the desire to cover his ears some way.
Gregor had to agree with stallion that reminded him too much of sun. The small one was very loud. so loud Gregor could hear him too clearly from beneath water. That was problem.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 06, 2015 8:38 pm
"That is indeed true," Rynga agreed with Silverwing. "Perhaps Rio would be willing to take responsibility."
Lori nodded his agreement to Chrys and strutted over to the small group of males. "My friends! Allow me to be of assistance in assuaging the young stallion's heartache!"
Juan paused in his laughter/sobs to blink at the pink fluff head. Where was the feather brain going with this?
Why... why... why was Pinzin still here? He rolled his eyes.
Chrysoar grinned and followed his theatrical friend and co-conspirator. "We couldn't help over hearing your...difficult situation," the golden stallion explained, "And Lori here, he is one of the most renowned match makers in all of the lands. If you suffer from heart ache this fellow here is the cure!"
Silverwing eyeballed the pair of new comers skeptically, "A match maker?" He drew out the second word as if in disbelief. "Really?" he pursed his lips slightly before continuing, "And um, what exactly qualifies someone to be a match maker?" From his understandings you just went up to a nice filly and introduced yourself. Nothing so hard about that. Except for the heart break that would follow, but there wasn't really a magic cure all for that either. It sounded like this guy was just trying to sell them a huge load of crock. And despite Juan's incessant wailing, Silverwing wasn't a fan of that. "I guess I'm asking about how much experience do you have?" he said a little more evenly. And what's your concept of timing, because seriously, Juan had been wailing inconsolably all this time and they were just gonna stroll on up here and say they could fix all his problems. Seemed like a couple of con artists to him.
Rio, still playing the role of comforter to the poor, destitute stallion could only look between the others in amazement. What these two gentlemen proposed to do sounded preposterous. Clearly this stallion, that Rio had to admit he didn't know very well at all, was in the throws o an enormous emotional meltdown, almost a break. Did they really think they could just waltz in here and wave some type of magic wand and make all that go away? It sounded crazy. Of course, crazy is exactly what Rio had gotten in the short time he had spent with these stallions of questionable motives and backgrounds. And with feeling his shoulder growing more and more waterlogged by the second, Rio was beginning to hope for the unearthly virtues of what these bright gold and pink stallions suggested. If for no other reason than to get the mini off him, an event which his friends continued to be very unhelpful regarding.
Gregor could only laugh at silly stallions and sillier predicament - his bubbles unknowingly floating to the surface with loud pops.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 02, 2015 7:14 pm
"So glad you asked," Lori preened, tossing his head in such a way that made it clear he knew just how regal he really was. "My record for pairing love lorn stallions with their soulmates is spotless!" If he did say so himself... never mind that those stallions didn't exactly agree with his judgement, or that the pairs may not have always stayed together. Genius couldn't be questioned and wasn't always obvious to the uninformed.
"Why do I find that difficult to believe," Rynga muttered, sharing a glance with Silverwing. Like his winged friend, Rynga had never found it difficult to charm a filly. Finding one to settle with, however, seemed positively criminal. His charms could not be restricted to just one mare. It would hardly be fair to all the others.
Pinzin eyed the small stallion, whose sobs became quieter hiccups. Nope. There was still no explanation to why he was still there. He returned his glare to the fluff head twins, willing those curls to turn in on their owners and strangle them.
Juan hiccupped a couple times, for good measure, wondering who this stranger was. The cat-like mini was tempted to be offended by the eye sheering pink that was displayed before him, but decided that messing with his head was a better idea. The arrogant ones were always the most fine. He pulled away from Rio a bit and gave a loud, snotty sniff for effect. “You can bring my baby back?” he asked. He lifted his head and, making sure to pitch his voice so that what came out was more a screech than anything else, he sang, “I want my baby back! She’s the only girl that brightens up my world! What can I say, don’t make her do it! She’s fine as can be and was so good to me. I had a good thing, and I blew it! Now I’m all alone, the love we had is gone!” He stumbled when he remembered that she was supposed to have left him. Then, with a mental shrug, he plowed on. These morons were unlikely to notice the inconsistencies, and if they did, he could always just play the distraught, heartbroken fool card. They already believed he was dumped, so why not see how much he could confuse them? Dropping his voice to a strangled moan, he continued, “What can I do, to renew it? If only I had a chance to continue our romance, I wouldn’t hesitate, to get to it! Ah ah, I need love and that’s a natural fact! And more than anything, I want my sugar back! I want her here with me!” he stumbled forward, peering up at the pink stallion. “Can you do it, doc?! Can you bring my baby back? Bring her back to me? My heart is aching, I think it’s breaking. Ah ah, ah ah, I want my baby back! My world is lonely, I need her only! EVERYBODY SING!”
Silverwing eyed the new comers with disbelief and could only shrug to Ringa in response.
Rio just looked helplessly between everyone in the group and continued to question his life choices up to this point.
"He really is quite skilled!" Chrysoar assured them.
Gregor let out a hearty laugh as he broke the surface having already used up his whole air supply, "I must ask you," he said between gasps of air. "Where are your tents?"
