Merlinite nodded his head.
He had always been woefully unfamiliar with the concept of friendship. It was difficult for him to think that he was starting to understand it now, when so much of his life had fallen apart. Who really wanted to be friends with a dragon? But he supposed there were worse things he could have come out as... and maybe his appearance was not the most important thing.
"Well, I'll do my best to convince them... I mean, if I can. But I want to go find Camelot, too. He was... I did a lot of shitty stuff to him, and his family, but he was going to help me... and I just... need to patch things up with him."
He took a breath, looking anxious.
"Maybe after that, I can meet up with your friends. I'll come find you, soon, and let you know how it's gone. If it goes. If he dusts me on sight, I wouldn't really be surprised."

"I can help if you need." Elpis offered, and then half-smiled. "I don't want to think he'd dust you, either. Maybe he'll listen if you talk to him...?" The Senshi swallowed. "I hope, anyhow, that he'd listen. You didn't mean harm, right?"

Merlinite shook his head.
"I think it's something I have to do alone. I know he's always at the library so I just have to... get the courage to go and see him. I've been around there, and I feel his aura... I just haven't... you know."
He was still a coward, but he was going to do much better now, he was determined, to triumph over those instincts and do what needed to be done.
"I think he thinks I did. I don't know. I hid a lot of information from him and got him pretty badly hurt. Not to mention his family... and that dark mirror... I just. I have a lot to make up for. But hey, don't worry about it. I've got it covered. I'll see you again some time, okay?"

"Well, if it helps," Elpis noted. "The truth might help, at least, help you feel better. And if you start there... Who knows. All you can do is try. Besides... You can't give up." She winked. "Giving up wouldn't get you to look into getting better. So I'd better hope I see you again. Just - be safe, alright?"

Merlinite nodded his head and offered her a grin.
"When am I ever not careful?" he said, though it was clear he was just being sarcastic for the sake of it. He was visual proof of what happened when he was not careful, after all. If he had been, this probably would not have happened.
"Alright. I'm just going to... go, then. You stay safe too, eh?" He moved toward her and very carefully gave her a timid and gentle hug, just in case he hurt her. He did his best not to scratch her with her claws, and moved back fairly quickly, looking embarrassed.
He waved his clawed hand and then moved to leap off, moving more like an animal than how he used to move, since he had a lot more strength in his claws and legs now.

Elpis grinned, then nodded. "Will do my best." She admitted, and smiled, gently returning the hug before watching him depart, smiling a bit. She hoped to have helped - to give him some reason to keep lookin, and she'd look for a way to help herself, the senshi smiling before moving to resume patrol. She owed a friend that much, after all.
