"Certainly," Ime responded, taking his hand. She was curious what the pack on his back held, but she supposed she'd find out soon enough. He did have something to show her, after all.
She waited patiently for Thorn to clear the place out, hoping there was in fact nothing toothy to give him a good bite. She was flattered to be taken to someone's favorite place. It was special.
When he came back she took his hand again and let him guide her. When they reached the center of the natural dome, her mouth fell open and she peered around them in wonder. She had never seen anything like this before, not even in Jauhar. She stopped to admire their surroundings and, after a while, finally turned back to Thorn with a grin on her face. "It's beautiful."

He had been right, she could appreciate the beauty of a place even if it was uncivilized, the thought warmed him a little, he wasn't the only one. "I certainly think so, its also quite practical in a storm as the rain has a harder time getting through the canopy and the wind is cut. I often wondered when I hid here, what made the trees grow like that and to this day I have not figured it out." For all he knew a talented mage had done it. Well whatever had done it they had not bothered to reverse it, much to his delight, now he got to share it with someone and that felt even better then coming here alone. He unslung his pouch to reveal fruit and crackers and a few other things. "I bought this from the inn, so it has to be good." he chuckled and laid it out so they could dine. He felt at peace here, relaxed more so then normal, here he didn't have to keep an eye out for anyone. He was going into a battle class, but sometimes it was nice to just relax.

It hurt a little that she was going to have to leave this place and Thorn behind. Maybe she could stay a while longer than planned, but not forever. She'd be right back in the same situation if she did, and then when would she see Mama? For now, though, she pushed the thought out of her mind. This was a date. Her first. She needed to enjoy it the best she could.
"Yeah, I've never seen anything like this before. It's very nice," she said with a nod, then her eyes traveled to the bag of goodies. Her smile broadened. How sweet of him! She sat down daintily, both legs folded to one side, and waited politely for him to offer her something.

Thorn looked at the spread meditatively and offered her a platter of fruit. "Fresh from Jauhar, do you recognize any of them?" he asked curiously, they certainly were interesting looking and a few smelled very sweet and fresh. A leaf chose this moment to drift down and land on his nose, he blew it off and stared above, but it looked like it was a natural shedding and not caused by anyone or anything creeping around. He chose one of the fruit himself, it was his favorite from Jauhar, purple and full of sweet juice. He sighed in satisfaction. "I don't know why but food seems to taste better in the fresh air." He offered her trays of the rest of the selection laid out before them, enjoying his job immensely. It just felt nice to be here with her with no pressing matters at hand. And indeed the food was good.

"Mm-hm," Ime nodded, picking a red fruit with edible seeds. She bit into it happily and felt a rivulet of juice sliding down her chin. She laughed slightly and held up her hand, caught the drip and wiped it away. It felt like it should have been embarrassing, but with Thorn it wasn't. He hade her comfortable even with all of that excited buzzing in her chest.
She giggled at the falling leaf, also peering up toward its source, and smiled.
"It is!" she agreed. It was nice to meet someone who liked being outdoors. Sauti wasn't so kind as Tale and people sometimes preferred the homestead. Ime looked seeing new places, new sights, meeting new people... "What's this one?" She pointed to a small yellow fruit with uneven green spots. She had only barely gotten to know Jauhar lately, there were still many secrets!

Thorn peered at the fruit. "You know I'm not quite sure. I don't think its a particularly common one, sure looks interesting though." He split the fruit in half and offered her one side. "Shall we try it together?" He bit into his side and the tang was unexpected and hard to describe, while it was still sweet it was not overpoweringly so. "Whatever it is I like it." He spat out a big seed. "Besides those." he smiled. "From the size I would say that is a tree fruit. Maybe I'll plant it in a pot and see what happens." He picked up the seed and wrapped it in some leather to take home with him. "What do you think it tastes like? I can't quite put a finger on it. But its almost familiar."

Ime nodded and took her half, biting into it at the same time Thorn did and then looking down at it as she savored the taste. She crunched a large seed and daintily pushed it into her index finger and thumb with her lips. Spitting was too masculine. Not on a first date!
"Do you garden?" she asked, watching hm set the seed aside, and shrugged. "We don't really get a lot of fresh fruit in Sauti. It's all new to me." She was positively beaming. "I like it, though. It's so different. And the... the water-pod-plant... things! I love those. It's silly, but I do." They were very common in Tale, they where most of what people ate aside from hunted meat, and she loved the taste. It wasn't so different than water, but just enough to be special, and the sensation of biting through them? Wonderful.

"My mother is an excellent gardener, I help her out, Dad has a black thumb and stays out of our way until he can eat whatever comes out of the ground." Thorn smirked. "I think there is something kinda magical about planting a seed and seeing the plant grow from the earth later." "The pods are alright but when you eat them for breakfast, lunch and supper they tend to loose their charm." He snickered. He found them a bit bland. "Mom tried to hide them in my food when i was little but I knew they were there. She's crafty." He chose another piece of fruit, this one had tiny seeds that he just swallowed instead of picking them out by the hundreds. This was one of his favorite's one could tell by the blissful look on his face. He was still a little nervous it seemed but he didn't think he really had reason to be.

Ime had lost any sense of nervousness. It was just like any other day out with a friend. If she started thinking of it as a date she might worry, but that was silly too. Thorn had just met her and she hadn't been acting any particular way. She could be honest with him.
"We never were home enough to start a garden, but our neighbors have one. I like watching things grow, but that's hard in Sauti." She watched the joy cross his face and smiled broadly.
"You're cute," she said, out of nowhere. So this was where the date-versus-hangout quota changed, she thought. The young hybrid reached forward and took another fruit, biting into it coyly as she watched Thorn through the tops of her eyes.

"Sauti sounds kinda harsh, what do you eat in the winter if stuff is so hard to grow?" His first guess was hardy roots, even the sound of it tempted him to eat more fruit and be glad he wasn't eating that. "As are you, but I think your cuter then I am." He grinned and fluttered his own eyelashes at her..it had to be more expressive then grunting like all the other males would probably do, she deserved more then a grunt..what would Dad do? Oh yeah, best not do that....hmm. So he offered her a hand in a request to cuddle. His heart started to beat double time. She looked cuddleable, and he was afraid he might like it more then he reckoned. Yup what a crux that would be, addicted to cuddling.

"Whatever we can. I mean, Sauti's not so bad where the villages are, that's why they're there, but all the space in between? It's a whole lot of nothing." Nothing and the occasional giant bird.
Ime laughed delightedly when Thorn fluttered his lashes. He was a big sort of guy, definitely not the type she'd expect to look at her like that. She covered her mouth politely while she giggled and blushed, and then her eyes turned down to Thorn's hand. What did he want? Presumably not just a hand-shake. Assuming he wanted to hold hands, Ime reached out and placed hers in his.

Thorn tugged her closer slowly and tucked her in by his side. "Now this is nice. Or at least I think it is, you can move if you want but my side will get cold." He put on his best puppy dog eyes. He hoped she wouldn't move. Maybe he was in over his head, but it felt so good. "Thank you for coming all the way out here with me, this place is very special to me. I wonder if you might have an idea for our next date? If you er want to have another one with me that it?" There he had asked...now it felt like his heart was going to pound out of his poor chest.

Thorn was a much bigger person. It must have been pretty easy for him to move her as in moments she found herself at his side. The closeness made Ime's breath catch in surprise. Oh, this wasn't just a hand-hold. Her heart was pounding and the nondwa in her stomach fluttering wildly as she sat stiff for a moment and then relaxed, leaning her head on Thorn's shoulder. As a second thought, she wrapped her arms around him. He was warm, solid. It was just like a hug, she thought, so why worry? The fact that it might last a while just made it all the more pleasant.
"I'd like to," she admitted, but then turned her head up to Thorn. Her expression was a bit sad. "I can't stay all too long, though."

Oh dear, it felt even better then he thought, he tried not to move, to keep himself relaxed when she was stiff, then it was his turn to be a bit shocked when she wrapped her arms around him. He wanted to melt into a little puddle and all of his hair tried to stand on end. What a weirdly wonderful feeling. "Stay in Tale you mean? Your family needs you back home I expect?" This was delicate dreadful territory, of course she had to leave at some point this wasn't her home, no more then the city itself was his. And he would have to leave the city soon anyway, due to disguise issues. He wanted to trail after her, he did but he didn't want to startle her more then he already had with his impromptu cuddling. Besides it was very hard to be sulky with her snuggled up against him, she was soft and curvy, the light filtering though caught her skin as leaves fluttered in the breeze. "When, uh, when must you leave?"

Ime sighed. Why couldn't Thorn be a Wind boy living out in Sauti? It was just her luck that the first man she'd be attracted to would be so far away. She really was attracted to him, too. His appearance was gruff and spiky. Her friends would probably think she was insane for liking someone like him, but it was there. His gems were sparkling crystals, his hair a soft shock, and his face. Ah, he had a very handsome face, even her friends couldn't deny that she was sure! Her heart as still fluttering in her chest as she held him.
"Oh, I don't know. In a few days? A week? There's only so much healing to be done in one place at one time." If only some wealthy family needed a midwife for a while, that would be splendid! None had approached her, though, and she hadn't even seen an obviously pregnant lady since she'd come here. The hybrid tuned her head and nuzzled into Thorn's side, holding him a little closer.
"I wish I didn't have to go."
