While Kipenzi doubted that she was all that fast when well-rested, but she continued appreciating the sentiments. She wasn't the youngest, sprightliest mare around and she knew that, even if he didn't see that. Well, hopefully he didn't see that - despite her age she didn't have the life experience of many others. Although she was hoping to change that soon. While things at home with her friend Kintori had been rough lately, she was hoping they would smooth out enough that Kipenzi could leave without feeling guilty for leaving the other mare alone. More time away from home meant more adventures, which she was already looking forward to immensely.
Squaling at the splash of water, Kipenzi's eyes danced as she looked at the stallion. "Not fair!" She dipped a hoof into the water and splashed some back to him in return. "Swimming, huh?" She teased. If it was swimming he liked, it was swimming he was going to get. The mare moved closer to Asar and pressed her muzzle up against his neck, nudging him towards the water. "In ya go!" Although the water wasn't very deep, it was definitely deep enough to lead to some fun.

Hearing the squeal he feels a smirk plaster itself on his lips. Lifting his head deep laughter comes from him. This is fun! Grinning at Kipenzi he shakes his head." Not fair! I see this as incredibly fair! You have hooves too!" Water hits his coat and the droplets slide down. He nods." Yes swimming! It's a lovely activity that helps me relax." Yet when she tries pushing him towards the water he laughs and pushes back against her before suddenly moving away and going to the ground." You think I would go in with my saddle and such on? Not likely.. but if you wish to go in and swim with I would be willing to swim with you." Though behind his eyes a mischievous light shines. He definitely plans for her to go in with him. He twists and turns his neck as he starts to unbuckle the saddle before he pulls it off his back. The cloth goes next as he puts it by a rock. That should keep them dry. Grinning he moves towards her with a smirk." It sure is getting warm out isn't it Kipenzi? Perhaps we should go for a swim.. And as they say..Ladies first!" He presses his forehead against her side and dig his heels in as he gently pushes her towards the water.

Kipenzi was just about to remark about Asar's saddle and scarves when he began to remove them gingerly and place them on a nearby rock. 'Oh, God, he's serious...' Although Kipenzi did enjoy a dip in the water, she could a mischievous glint in his eye that indicated he wasn't going in without a fight. With all intent to stand her ground, Kipenzi glanced back up at him to see a smirk plastered across his face. "See, I wasn't exactly planning on going for a swim, but you looked like you could use a dip..." He was stepping towards her and she knew immediately where this was going, and couldn't quite tell whether that made her nervous in a scared way or nervous in an excited way.
"Oh, gosh, Asar, I don't know," she started before realizing quickly this was a battle she was absolutely doomed to lose. She began to back up and attempted to dig her hooves into the mud but it was slippery and she was losing ground easily. Realizing that she was going in no matter what, she decided to play it up and induce further slipping, squealing out an "Ahhhh!" as she fell backwards (a bit more sloppily than intended), her back hooves hitting the water with a loud 'splash.' "Asar," she groaned jokingly. Kipenzi glanced up at him, seeing the smile dancing across his face. "Aren't you going to join?" She splashed a bit of water up towards his hooves playfully, knowing he wouldn't resist a swim on this hot day, especially after he'd taken off his saddle and such in preparation.

Asar couldn't be more pleased as he watches Kipenzi start to realize what is destined to happen. A joyous laugh comes from him when he starts to see that she is going to play along. Throwing his head up as he is splashed he grins." Why yes! I shall join you. After all it is such a nice day and I have a cute swimming companion." With that said he charges in near enough where the splashing would get her and gives her a mischievous smirk. Thrilled with how the water feels against his coat and how Kipenzi is even more soaked. " You really think you could have beaten me at splashing? " Smiling he shakes his mane. Drops of water flung everywhere." The water feels nice! Don't you agree?"

Kipenzi was pleased to see Asar clamber into the water after her - she had been right, it really was difficult to resist this water on such a hot day, particularly after all that exercise. It really did feel good, regardless of the splashing. And what felt even better? The compliments. Kipenzi could feel her face warming up at being called "cute" - it wasn't much, but she wasn't used to this kind of attention, especially from such handsome stallions. "It really does!" She agreed with a nod, laughing at the droplets of water landing on her muzzle. Although she was having fun, she started to realize how exhausted she had become. Her jaws parted in a large yawn which she ended with a big laugh. "Excuse me! Sorry, I haven't been this active and adventurous in quite some time. Seems I'm not used to it!"

Asar smiles and takes pleasure in the feeling of the cool water against his warm skin. This is exactly what he needed. It is almost pure bliss being here and having good company. He shakes his head and laughs happily." There is nothing to be sorry for! It is understandable considering the race and how you were traveling even before I came across you. Perhaps a nap would do us good. I think I remember someone saying that naps are good for the soul." After a few more minutes in the water he moves to walk out and towards the grass under a tree." The grass seems soft here. The shade would provide some coolness."

Kipenzi eyed Asar pleasantly, noting the expression of pure happiness crossing his face as he sank deeper into the water. It really did feel incredible in the light of the hot summer's day. She nodded at his comment, agreeing: "A nap sounds wonderful! It all is making me rather sleepy." She watched his walking out of the creek and followed suit, using the small bit of climbing up the bank as an excuse to stretch out her limbs post-race. A yawn ironically escaped her lips as she walked forward, eyeing the soft spot her companion indicated and then slowly lowering herself down onto it. She smiled up at him. "Today's been a good day."

Asar nods in agreement. It has been a very good day. As soon as she settles down in the spot he lowers himself nearby, but not close enough to cause her discomfort. He wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable. " It has been a good day. I can understand why you would be tired... and in all honesty.. I could probably use a nap too!" The sun feels nice and the shade even better. Settling down he watches her for a few more moments." Kipenzi would it be okay if we traveled together a little bit? I would love to have some company." Ruler of Everything Yes we probably should wrap it up soon.

Laying down her head, Kipenzi glanced over at Asar and smiled softly, nodding as much as she could. "That sounds pleasant," she remarked, allowing her eyes to close in rest. It had been a long time since she'd had a traveling companion outside Kintori. It sounded intriguing, and definitely not the type of offer she was keen to turn down. Besides, Asar seemed like he would make for excellent company. But only time could tell. Kenzi's breathing slowed nominally as her thoughts became scattered, bigger than herself. She was finally falling asleep. Better than that, she was falling asleep with a smile on her face.
