Casseth’s tail flicked as the boy rose but he didn’t make a move towards him. “He healed you,” Cas said as he nodded towards Lithian and then glanced back to the boy. “Your leg was gouged pretty badly and you lost a lot of blood. You should be fine, now. A little light headed still, but it should go away with time.” Cas rubbed at his chest and frowned at the boy’s statement and question. “We’re on our honeymoon.” Cas eyed the boy carefully, after giving an answer and then continued “And we’re very much capable of taking care of ourselves. No matter where we are.”

Janatheil eyed the pair, studying them. They were a strange lot, certainly. Dovaa — though he’d had very little experience with them save for the occasional noble ambassador or ‘old ally’ of the family with political ties — were fascinating. Exotic and obscure. Their horns and scales, in particular, held his attention firmly and both of these had them.
Hybrid lovers. Hybrid male lovers, on their ‘honeymoon’ in the land of the light.
Jana snickered, and then, once started, found it hard to stop, the laugh bubbling up ever louder and lingering even when it started to peter out. “A couple of husk-mixbloods. On their romantic vacation. Where the great lot of us here’d have your heads on a pike soon as not — y’know that, don’t you? Oh! And, where are my manners…” He pushed, sitting up more fully and wriggling his toes in his boots to test them for a moment before standing. It was a touch more painful and difficult than he might have hoped, but manageable. He bowed. “Janatheil Orehian, first son of the Lady and Lord of the same name and House. Delighted to make your acquaintances and all that and so on and so forth. Do you ‘ave any food? I’m starving…”

Cas raised an eyebrow at the boy’s laugh and glanced to Lith. The last thing he had expected was to hear a laugh. He shrugged before turning his attention back and tsking. “I’m the only hybrid here and yes, we’re well aware of how welcoming the orderites are of oblivoinites and hybrids. My name is Casseth and this is Lithian.” He tilted his head and then gestured to the camp around them. “That’s why we’re out here, in the middle of nowhere. This is but one of many stops for us and we were planning on leaving soon.” He blinked at the mention of food and frowned as he remembered what he’d been about to nibble on before the kid — Janatheil — had interrupted him. Cas held back an irritated huff as he gestured to their dying fire. “We were just about to start cooking before you arrived.” He pushed himself up and moved over to add wood to the fire. “You’re welcome to stay for food but won’t your family begin to worry about you? Like you said, they’ll come looking for you soon.”

Janatheil paused mid-stretch at the words ‘only hybrid’ and glanced towards the man with the vibrant blue hair. Dovaa. He’d never seen one with skin quite that dark, but then, he supposed, it fit somewhat within their color range, so perhaps it wasn’t impossible.
“You should keep weight off your leg, though,” Lithian added. “It’s only lightly bound and will need to be doing some healing on its own. If you know which direction your family is…” He glanced to Casseth, and then back to the young orderite. “I could accompany you? I’m likely to stir up less trouble, at least, than—”
The sound of voices and the hammering of hoofbeats cut off Lithian’s words, and he tensed. They were not ready to depart immediately. All their things were here, but nor where they ready to fight an entire party of armed orderites.
“Maybe kill the fire, yeah?” Jana suggested, entirely too carefree for Lithian’s tastes, not that they had a great many options. “I’ll go greet them and ah…wish you the best. Thanks for the back up and all, yada, and so forth.” He stretched his wings, and then, before Lithian could open his mouth to suggest that the boy be careful he was off, most of his weight supported by wings as he headed into the woods in the direction of the sound.
Lithian gave a chopped sigh, frowned, and after a moment, went with the child’s suggestion, dousing what the had with a flick of magic and leaning his weight to rest against Casseth. “Shall we stay and hope they do not come this way, or…leave and return to camp, hoping they did not raid it?” he murmured beneath his breath.
It was not worth it, in his mind, to fight, and there was no telling how many they would be up against if they did. As lovely as it all was, he wanted off of Serenia. Soon.

Cas opened his mouth to say something but the boy was gone before anything could be said. When Lith leaned against him, Cas’ tail snaked around his mate’s waist and he held him close. “Mmm, I’d rather stay and wait it out. The kid didn’t seem like the type to lead them back here.” He eyed Lithian for a moment, a small smirk curling up the corners of his lips. “It seems like we’re alone again Mr. Fedele. So…” He tugged Lith in for a brief, hungry kiss before pulling away, all too quickly, and tugging Lith into their tent. “Dinner?” He hummed happily as he tugged Lithian to the ground and pushed him back to loom over him. Leaning down, Casseth caught Lith’s lips up in a lingering kiss that ended with a n** and a tug at Lith’s lower lip.
