Lithian blinked, startled at the offer and the woman’s seemingly genuine openness despite her being frightened not so long before. It put him at ease, though, to get the sense that she had calmed, at least somewhat, and was now not only more relaxed, but friendly at that. He glanced fleetingly to Casseth before returning his attention to their new companion and smiling.

“We wouldn’t want to be a burden on you, certainly,” he said, “but if our company is welcome, it would be an honor to speak with you, share a meal, and learn some of you and your land as we are strangers here and it never hurts to learn a new face. If you are comfortable bringing us to your home, we would be happy to return the favor and repay you in whatever means suits you, though our resources are limited mostly to labor and a handful of coin at present. So, if I understand you correctly you have…two daughters? Or is the younger child a son?”

Avani smiled at the two men and clasped her hands behind her back.

"You would not be a bother. My house is big enough for many people, and it gets lonely at times when the others are gone. Just having people to cook for and take care of would be enough to repay me." She thought for a moment and said, "If you have been to lands besides Serenia, you could satisfy my curiosity about some of them. I have only once, as a young girl, been outside my country and would like to know more about the others. Any stories you could tell would be payment enough as well."

She smiled at Lithian and said, "You may ask me anything you wish. There is a lot about Serenia, even a lot about this area that is worth knowing. I have lived here for many years and know it well. Consider my family's land your home while you are here."

"My daughters are more like wards or charges I take care of. One is a little fea called Nix whom I've taken care of since I was ten years old, and one is a khehora youngling named Honoka that took care of since she was an egg." Avani blushed a little at her admission. Most people would think she was strange to think what she did, "I love them both enough to call them my daughters since they have both claimed my heart as such."

She looked up at the sky and then started. It was about time to start lunch.

"If you wish for a bit of lunch, we can go back to my house now." She went over to the place she had dropped her small sword and pointed it towards her house, towards the woods, "My house is this way if you wish!"
