It felt weird to know his name, it felt weirder knowing it was something as cute sounding as Pumpkin. It made sense but...he felt a smile lift the edges of his lips " yes, you have grandchildren..six in fact" He took a minute to appreciate her jaw drop before he continued " though that's three from one mother and three from another...I don't have a mate perse...I thought I did with the first one, but..." His expression turned dark " no, i'm alone."

They both walked forward, deciding that the late afternoon sun was a bit harsh and continued into the shade of the local grove.

Chislev raised one eyebrow, that motherly switch deep inside her clicking on " Soooo, you miss the first one, and the second one isn't around?" She watched him with a keen eye as he shook his head

" That was Kit's mother, she found me in some very dark times and we took comfort in each others presences for a time - but she got with foal and when she had them, she left, and two of the kids went with her - only Kit stayed behind, though i suspect it was to nag me to death"
He shrugged, his armor creaking

She frowned " I see...and you obviously still love your first mate otherwise you wouldn't have a face like a fish, no, don't look at me like, that - mothers know these things." Her brow wrinkled for a moment " is she...she's not...dead is she?"

He looked so alarmed that she felt bad for asking but he replied swiftly " no no, gods no...i mean, i hope not."
"Then why on earth did you leave her!~!?"

His ears flipped backwards, startled by the ferocity of her question, granted abandonment was a very touchy subject with this family... " I...well"
He hadn't really thought this topic would have come up, today he didn't feel like the demon horse of the forest, he felt like a teenager who'd done somethin wrong. " I hurt her mother, I hurt her and I didn't mean to, she had such a hard time, and I couldn't bare to see her in pain...So i left with the little piece of her I could. I took my son with me, my first child."
