Kerberos scooted over, just enough to make actual room on the bench.
"Do you want to sit down?" He offered, because when someone was being so damn genuinely kind he could at least offer a seat. Anyone sane probably would have bolted a long while ago, and it wasn't like Kerberos hadn't given plenty of reason to do so. Fiddling with his own starseed, dropping heavy knowledge about Ascension, generally being sort of not pleasant to be around.
"The story isn't that long or that interesting, just...I mean," he swallowed. "A General by the name of Schörl decided that me being drunk all the time - because I was, for a while - was an embarrassment to the Negaverse. So she shut me up in the Rift for two weeks to detox. She threatened me with all kinds of nasty s**t, but Ascension was never part of it. If she could, I think...she would have. Somehow."
Aegir's little stage bow drew a smile out of Kerberos, and he very nearly actually laughed. "A squeaky toy would be nice, sure," he said. "or like, my humanity back, or whatever, that'd be cool too." He exhaled heavily. "I'm decent for cannon fodder now, I guess. That's what's keeping me alive, and I like being alive."

With an obvious invitation like the one he'd been given, how could he resist? "I'd love to, thanks!" Aegir smiled and settled on the bench next to Kerberos, probably closer to the corrupted senshi than was comfortable; even powered the curly-haired blond was bad about respecting personal space. He even angled his body towards the bluenette, eyes bright and the whole expression of his body reading as very interested. "Schörl? I've never heard of her." But if she was able to command another person so masterfully...well, she couldn't be good news, could she? "The Rift? Isn't that where the monsters come from? She put you there?" Aegir reached a hand out to touch Kerberos' arm, frowning angrily at the thought of another person being so cruel and hurtful. "Kerberos...I want you to know that if you need me, I'm here. I don't know what I could do, but I'd help you get out. Get your humanity back. No one should have to go through what you have." So earnest, so caring! So naive...but he meant it. Aegir might not have known how to help his new friend right then, but he'd find a way. Or try to. "We'll figure it out, okay? And in the mean time, you can call on me if you need me." But how? Oh, maybe he could leave me a note somehow? I don't think he's got access to a phone...hm. "You could leave me a message taped to this bench! I mean, I'd come by every few days maybe to see if you had. If you wanted?" Noir Songbird Plz excuse my dumb. @___@

Kerberos really didn't mind the invasion of his personal space - he wasn't exactly terribly concerned about it either, anyway. And besides, it was sort of comforting. Aegir was interested, blatantly.
"I mean, it wasn't the uh, Rift-Rift? There's another part, that's a little safer, with less monsters - if she'd left me in the uh, monster infested part, I would've died." He exhaled between his teeth, and perhaps surprisingly didn't flinch away from the hand on his arm. "Youma don't like corrupts any more than they like regular Senshi," he explained. "We're all weird space people to them, I guess."
Not that he expected the ones that couldn't speak had a ton of capability for discernment any which way.
God, Aegir's enthusiasm broke his heart. He didn't have it in him to say no - to tell the blond Senshi that there was no way to help him, that he was trapped in the Negaverse because no Royal would ever spend their energy to purify him, and even if one did, surely he would be found and dragged back, no matter what he actually wanted.
"I can do that - leave you notes, here, I mean." That was something, at least. He couldn't make himself say that there would be no redemption story here. "Thank you, Aegir. For wanting to help. People keep wanting to do that, and I don't get it, but it's...I mean, at least if I ever do get my s**t together to leave, I'll know there are places I can turn."

Aegir found what Kerberos was saying extremely interesting - he'd had no idea about the inner workings of the Negaverse, nor that there existed both a monster-filled Rift and a place that was adjacent but slightly less murderously inclined towards senshi kind. "What an incredibly awful sounding place to be." He wrinkled his nose a bit, "So you're basically not safe at all. What if a youma attacked you, would you get in trouble for killing it?" Weird space people, indeed.Kerberos didn't know it yet, but this earnest and stubborn reaction was basically Aegir's true nature. He wholly believed that there was a way to get the corrupt free of the Negaverse and was already invested in helping any way he could. If he could. They had just met, but already the curly-haired blond had assigned worth and friendship to his companion. "Good, I'll look forward to it." Aegir gave Kerberos' arm a little squeeze, tilting his head and flashing a megawatt smile, "Kerberos...it's because you're a good person. They can see it. You're worth so much more than being some pet of the Negaverse." "When you get out," Note he said when and not if, "I'll be there. Here. For you. Weird space people gotta look out for one another, you know?" Noir Songbird Okay Pollyanna, rein it in.

"I'm gonna guess probably not, unless it was an officer's personal? Since youma don't really, like, die." He waved a hand. "They turn into dust, but then they just go back into the Rift and reform. So, y'know, if you think you've seen the same creepy monster thing twice, you probably have."
Kerberos tried to return the smile, but he couldn't manage the same enthusiasm. It was definitely wobbly and a lot sad, which described him pretty well on the whole. "I mean, I'm not, at all, but thanks for thinking so." A good person wouldn't have reveled in murder. A good person wouldn't have promised to corrupt an innocent just to save himself. A good person would have left the Negaverse long ago. A good person, maybe, would have let himself die in Negaspace rather than risk another life.
"If I get out," Kerberos actively refused to speak in absolutes, Aegir's optimism or not, "I'll look for you. Here."

Aegir's brows went up once more; here was Kerberos telling him things about the youma he didn't really want to hear. "You mean some of those tentacled monstrosities could come back. Ugh, that sucks." Especially for some of his friends - like Aleksy, who had an even bigger aversion to youma than anyone else he knew. Aegir didn't like them really, but he had come to accept that they were part of his life now...and he'd yet to meet one that made him want to run screaming. Yet. Even that wobbly, tentative smile meant a lot to Aegir, who brightened considerably at the fact that his sad-looking friend had done so at all. There's hope for you, my friend. I know it. You don't want to be there, you don't belong in the Negaverse. There's a way if you're willing, I just know it. "Kerberos...even if you've done bad things for the Negaverse, that doesn't mean you're not a good person. That magic they use to corrupt...it's pretty literal, I think. It changes us from the good people we could be, to the worst we might be." As usual, Aegir was aggressively friendly and positive in outlook; he'd decided Kerberos was a good guy and nothing short of having him actively try to yank his star seed was gonna change that. Maybe not even then. He knew how and when to choose his battles, so he didn't argue the point further; right know Kerberos was down on himself, miserable. It wouldn't help to argue with him, no. What would help, was for Aegir to be his friend, to care and show it, until they could get the corrupt away from his wicked masters. Aegir took Kerberos' hand in his and gave it a squeeze, expression earnest and warm, "On that day? We'll go get some coffee and pie, okay? My treat." But until then? He wanted his friend to understand that Aegir was there for him, he had his back. "Anytime you need me for something, just leave me a message, okay? I'm gonna do the same." Noir Songbird I think we're probably good to close on your tag? Feel free to pilot Aegir a bit if you need to, aye? :3
