He crossed his arms at her snip, an eyebrow raising in curiosity. She didn't look as beaten up as Kale, but she wasn't exactly looking like a victor in this.

What did the Captain say to her? Then again, he did have a way in punishment. He also noted the fingers to her lips, but he didn't fully understand it. The rather buff male awkwardly looked side to side, not good with these 'mushy feelings' sort of talkings. "...Hey, what do ye say fer a good arm wrestlin?" He spoke with a toothy grin. Showing off ones macho always helped him!

She stared at Black jack for a moment, then chuckled a little and shook her head. "I know better than to pick a fight I'll lose. Your bicep is as thick as my head..."

She sighed and looked up at the stars. "How do you read them? The stars. How do you know which ones are the ones to follow?"

He chuckled as he glided down to catch the rigging just below her, so she could see where he pointed. "The Northern star, it be 'bout 5 paces from the Big Spoon. And to be precise." He moved his hand again. "Early in the evenin, Mintaka be really close to either east or west. Depend'in where ye be at."

She felt herself relaxing a little bit with Black Jack there, and looked up to where he was pointing to. "I see.... Which side will Mintaka be from our current location?" It was nice to not think about what had happened earlier.

A bright light flashed through the sky, breaking apart quickly as it streaked closer to the ground, then burned out completely. "Wow... That was pretty..."

For whatever stupid reason, her mind again wondered toward what had happened earlier that day, with Darias, and her fingertips made their way to her lips once more. She frowned, disliking the fact that he was controlling where her thoughts lay, and began to think about what she could do to return the favor.

"East. But where exactly we be headin'? Only the cap'n knows that. Says it's bad luck." His dark eyes caught the burning streak, and he chuckled. Though with his scarred neck, it sounded little better than gravel. "Make a wish Slagathor." She seemed to be easing up, which was a relief to the muscle headed pae. Ever since she had arrived, he had been doing damage control. Talking up tales about her to shipmates, quickly squashing rumors. Not doing much, but just making the transition smoother for her as she adjusted to ship life.

He was fond of her, if only in a familial way. Though the crew would never let him live it down if it came to light that he was favoring her to his men. Each pirate on there believed to be Black Jacks personal best friend. Which made it easy to run communication from them to the ol' cap'n. "Though soon....We'll be passin a known dolphin route." He spoke almost off handedly, but it most certainly was an attempt to bring her further from her funk. "I could say, 'trip' and make a loud holler if I be seein them 'n' yer asleep."

Hearing the gravelly laughter brought a small smile to her face. She closed her eyes and made a silent wish for her to be able to navigate this minefield better. With a soft sigh, she opened her eyes again. She was certainly relaxing a bit more, and partially because Black jack was there. He'd been like an older brother to her since this whole adventure began, and she felt comfort in just his presence.

She perked up at the mention of dolphins. "Really? Dolphins?" She was very interested in seeing these animals up close, and rather excited to hear that they'd possibly have a chance to pass through some. "I'd probably not sleep, if I knew we'd be near."

His grin widened slightly at her excited tone. He'd did something good. "Well then, I guess you'd be fairly sleepy in about....I'd say two days." His eyes flicked back out to the horizon, as the last of the pink from sunset disappeared into dark black. When out in sea, away from any nearby lights or trees to obstruct view, it was incredible the amount of stars that dusted the sky above.

"How're ye fittin in? Are you glad to be here?" He looked from the sky to the shetani. "Lemme know, and I'm sure the cap'n'll set course back to the isle." In his own sweet time of course. Had to make it seem like 'his idea'.

"That far still? I suppose... I should sleep then." She tucked her legs up to her chest and leaned back against the mast, looking up at the white speckles in the night sky.

Black Jack's question surprised her. "Well, aside from today's scrap, I've been fairing well. I like it here, everything has a reason and everyone a job. I miss showers, but not much more. And, really, the rest of 'em aren't bad... just a little rough around the edges." She paused for a moment, then frowned. "But things will change if the Cap'n does what he did earlier again. I don't care if I have to swim to shore, I won't be staying here."

"Boats move slow lass!" He exclaimed with a chuckle at her disappointment, before frowning lightly at her statement.

So, her funk had to do with the captain. "Really? I thought ye could handle anythin that old seadog could throw." He rested his head a bit on the mast before shaking it. "Now, anyone else could be talked to. Reasoned with. But the cap'n be more stubborn than barnacles on a hull. So...ye could either play his game. Or ship out." Honest, non sugar coated truth.

"He crossed a line." She said bitterly, resisting the urge to touch her lips again. She listened to Black Jack's description of that frustrating man, and her gaze went back to the stars as she went into deep thought.

Play his game, huh? But how could she do that? She remained silent as she thought about what she could do, then a very slow and sly smile came over her face. "s**t... literally fight fire with fire! Black Jack... you're wonderful!" She slid off her perch, her wings opening to catch herself. She gave Black Jack a grin, showing that she was much closer to her normal self, then darted off to the deck to go find a certain captain.

Darias? Crossing a line?

Never.

But he settled for an amused smile as she muled over what he said. Apparently it struck a thought. "I am?" First time a girl ever said that of him! Outside of the bedsheets.

He chuckled as she launched off. "G'luck lass." He murmured under his breath as he closed his eyes. The night was currently a calm one, best enjoy it while it lasted.

Meanwhile Darias was plagued with no such dilemma. He was leaning nonchalantly against a wall on the side of the ship, eyes staring up at the starry sky as he picked his teeth with a toothpick from dinner. He really needed to tell the cook to add a little less salt. And to be more careful with bones. A bit of bone was fine for the teeth, but more than three pieces in one bowl was where he drew the line!

Andromeda circled the ship a few times before she spotted Darias below her. She moved quickly, plummeting as a hawk would to land with an audible thud in front of him. Without another word, she pushed her hands onto his shoulders, got to her tip toes, and kissed him with vigor. She took a step into him, making sure that she put in even more than he had earlier.

Fire with fire.

As his eyes were already up on the sky, it wasn't hard to see a midnight figure circling above like a bird of prey. Which one of his crew was that? He frowned, plucking out the toothpick a moment before the figure dive bombed in front of him. His steel blue eyes focused sharply, instantly recognizing the shetani. "Androme-" She moved so quickly, he couldn't even get out her name before she was pressed against him.

Her lips, so soft. A vast contrast to his rough, sea salt ravaged set. With her earlier distaste of him, he honestly was at a loss of what to do. Hold her? Expect a knife to the belly? Feel his pockets later for missing coin?

She was warm though. He almost forgot the pleasures of a woman.

She held the kiss for almost a full 10 seconds before pulling herself slowly from him. She looked up to his eye, and a smirk flickered over her lips. "G'night, Cap'n," she said softly, then stepped back and walked off.

As soon as her back was to him, her thoughts came crushing around in her head. She'd kissed him, was she daft? This was only going to make things worse! Would he see this as the message she was putting off? That she was the one in power now? Why did she feel all tingly down to her toes?"

Andromeda nearly walked into the mast at that last thought. Did she LIKE it? No, she wasn't supposed to like it. No, she did not like it, and that was final. But then... why was her heart still racing, and why was this such a big deal then?

As the seconds ticked by, his mind racing, the male just barely started to lift his hands hesitantly. But almost like she knew, the female stepped away. Their eyes locked, her gaze confident and coy, his one of confusion. And then she started striding off.

This was why he didn't have female pirates! Way too many head games. He shook his head while turning on a heel. "H-hey! Ye git back 'ere!" She had some explaining to do! He quickly started after her, though she had quite the head start. He just rounded the corner in time to see her almost run into the mast. Which was odd, as the mast never changed location and she had been on his vessel for six months.

Tonight was a strange night.
