Cee turned as instructed, already making a wincing face before his hands even took to her hair. She was quinting and hunching and waiting to feel pulling. "Nothin much. Same ol' s**t." And then slyly. "Yoooooooooou?"

No pulling yet, just his fingers rubbing the oil into the gum. "Infirmary shifts keep me pretty busy, but I did hop off island for a day trip to California." He'd leave it at that unless she drilled him for details.

"Oh ******** where'd you go?" She was genuinely interested. California was the capital of celebs everywhere. "Anywhere good?" Her face eased back from bracing but of course when the pulling finally did start she'd be ********. "Is it werkin?"

Their ideas of a fun time probably did not fully sync. Zeke chuckled, massaging the oil deeper into the gum. It was starting to slip, he assumed that was a good sign. "Hit the beach, and Sea World." Vaguely he wondered if Cee was aware if his former major and lasting passion. When he did start working the comb through he'd get a good grip of the hair between the gum itself and her scalp, saving her from the worst of the pulling. It wasn't too bad, really. The oil seemed to have done its job.

"Sea World? Like dolphin shows and s**t? I never been but we have some nice aquariums around home. I like the sea lions and penguins and s**t.." When she shifted it pulled so she winced and stopped. "I alwees felt kinna bad fer them killer whales though. Like.. no tank can be the same as tha whole fukin ocean.. right?" She was only vaguely aware of Zeke's interests. Anything too academic usually went over her head, and if she and Paige had discussed it neither of them dwelled too long to wonder.

"Yes ma'am." He didn't sound the least bit ashamed. In fact, he was grinning rather widely, amused. "And I wouldn't, the ones in Sea world were raised there, they've got nice clean water, uncontaminated and steady food, and lots of stimuli." This wasn't the first time he'd head reservations involving killer whales in captivity. "Not like they're going out and catching wild ones and forcing them to preform." The gum was starting to slid down the dark strands of her hair. He kept working at it. "Looks like it's working, so far."

"Oh thank ******** christ. Yer a life saver." Because she would have just died. Just. Died. "I owe you big time, aight? Like any favor anytime." And she didn't promise that often. And then she hissed when she shifted and it pulled. "I don't know s**t about sea life. It's yer thing though right?" Even if she didn't remember, she knew he had that wicked tattoo.

Favors were a wonderful currency. Zeke smiled to himself, not saying anything for a moment as he concentrated on getting the last of the gum moving and then slowly slid the whole mess down the length of her hair with the towel until it was gone. She'd have to watch the olive oil out now, but she was gum free again. "Thanks, I'll remember that." A pat on her shoulder, and he'd flash her a glimpse of the towel. "I'd try to keep from chewing gum in bed from now on," he'd tease, wiping his hands off. "That is indeed my thing." He smiled. "I was a biology major, going into marine biology specifically. It's a shame they don't have any use for that sort of a degree here, but," he let it trail off, shoulders rising in a shrug.

"Ain't my fault I get tired as ********." And high. And eat and drink in bed. ******** off Zeke ok. When he finally released her she reached back into the clumped chunk of hair coated in oil. "Ugh.. ugh.. ugh.." She would definitely be showering shortly, but with Zeke doing her a solid she wasn't going to boot him. "They got that underwater observation booth thing. And me'n Paige went divin for runes that one time.. there's all kinna weird s**t underwater out there. You tried askin anybody?"

"I've been in the observation pod," and loved it. If it were possible to do so, Zeke would be very hard pressed to take the place over and make it his dorm. Harley had expressed a similar desire when she'd been down there with him. Were it possible, he'd totally share, it'd be worth it. He did look interested as she mentioned diving though, and auburn brows lifted as he regarded her. "I haven't, I should," he sounded a touch distracted. "Not sure if Sunny would allow it but...Go back to the diving for runes thing."

"Sunny?" Cee's nose wrinkled because she was NOT good with people who she'd only spoken to once, or only seen the face of. Generally people had to make themselves worth remembering. "Well yeah ya know the runes for power? You go get scuba s**t and there's all these caves and s**t.." She waved vaguely towards the ocean, but being an island that meant every direction. "You collect the run tablet things and haul em up and you gotta carve yer runes yerself." Cee chuckled. "I jus wanted ta git Paige in a bikini." Still combing her hand through the back of her hair, slick with oil. "But we got some runes outta it and they're good fer trading and s**t. Maybe you can do some underwater s**t to make that safer."

"Pretty little thing with a big attitude that helps run the infirmary." Slave driver. He fell quiet as she explained the situation with the runes. Zeke had known their tech needed the runes to operate, but had not known the hunters went diving for them or carved them themselves. It was something new to look into, something worth mentioning to Harley. If it provided Zeke with a means to use his major any any way it was definitely worth pursuing. "Ill look into it, thanks." Her disgust over the oil in her hair was incredibly obvious, and honestly he didn't blame her. With a smile he got to his feet and gathered up the little cup and towel. "I'll get out of your hair, now that the gums gone. I'm sure you're longing for a shower, I know I would be."

"******** right I am." Cee sighed. "Thanks though I like ferreals owe you one." She already moved to her dresser, grabbing her toiletry basket and towel. "If you ever wanna go divin, I don't mind. I done it before. maybe you'll be better wit the sea monsters than me'n Paige were."

Hand on the door, he paused to glance her way again. "If I need a dive partner I will be sure to let you know." It wasn't out of the question, certainly. There were folks he would be asking first, but if they were otherwise occupied, Cee would do just fine. He flashed her a grin as he opened the door to let himself out. "Enjoy your shower, Cupcake." It was closed with a soft click behind him.
