"Dry... out." It was not a question, but a statement. Almost unconsciously, she looked down at the branches that resembled skeletal human hands that attached to her chest. Her mother and her sister, Tinúviel, had them as well, as did her older brother. And each and every one of them knew what a problem dehydration could be. It was why she had been stationed by the river - so she could drink or lie down in the slow-moving water as needed. "Is that because of your breed?" she asked, tilting her head, completely unaware that she might seem tactless. Like her foalhood friend, Retrieve, she had a slightly scientific mind; things such as breed and species were simply information to her. While she knew that half- and mixed-breeds among the herd could be sensitive to their bloodlines, she knew nothing of such things beyond the herd's bounds. All she had was innocent curiosity. "Are there other limitations to being kelpi?"

Andromeda's Nocturne dipped her tail back in the water and splashed herself again. "It is. Our skin was made to moistened often or we get really scaly. Our tails are heavy so we can't run very well, though in combat we can use fairly well if we really want to. Kelpi tails are very strong though. They're made to propel us through the water well, not as good as mers but better than land dwellers."
Andromeda assessed the mare that looked at her with such interest. For one so curious she was also a little anxious about what other's might know of her. Perhaps it was how she was raised or the beliefs of her herd. Andromeda herself had been raised to be open. But she knew that not everyone was like that and for good reasons too. "Do you dry out?"
