Chance just stared at her.
"So...just a mysterious phenomenon?" He asked Molly, utterly intrigued by this. What could have possibly caused everyone on the island to turn into children? It was such a mysterious occurrence, and one that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. "How fascinating...does that sort of thing happen often here?"
Her lance caught his side, and Chance gave a little yelp of surprise, lost in the incredulity of the second story that Molly was telling. He stumbled, laughing uproariously, and then stood up again, still wheezing.
"That," he said, "is amazing. Holy s**t."

Molly nodded her head enthusiastically. "Yes!" She replied. Mysterious phenomenon indeed. "We are in the Bermuda Triangle, after all!" She gave a thoughtful hum. "Oh...every so often...but it's been relatively quiet here for a while!" She informed him. Molly patiently waited until he was back on his feet once more to poke him with her lance again. "I guess, huh?" She wracked her brain, trying to think of more events to tell him. It'd be helpful for a trainee, right? "Um...once there was a big mission we all went on...it was to destroy the Horsemen Isles...towards the end we portaled home, but when we did, an Insanity phoenix returned with us!" Molly's eyes got wide as she stared at Chance. "It destroyed a lot of the Island's facilities, and left a lot of places infested with Insanity creatures..." She got a bit somber thinking about it. "We all had to live in an underground base for quite some time until we were able to clear out the insanity and repair the facilities!" She perked up again, smiling. "Isn't it amazing how prepared hunters are, though? To think there's a fully functioning base underneath our feet just in case something ever happens again!" Her brows knitted. "Not that I hope it does, goodness!" She crossed her fingers. HP: 46 / 60 DMG: 4

The word Horseman definitely drew Chance's attention. He still didn't know much about the species as a whole, so the idea that they had an entire set of islands to them was rather intriguing - or at least, had an entire set, since by the sound of things, the mission had been to destroy them.
"What's Insanity?" he asked curiously. "Is it like an ailment or something? A disease?"

Molly gave another long thoughtful hum, tapping her finger on her cheek as she struggled how to explain Insanity to Chance. She was piecing together what she remembered hearing about it, plus from that lecture, Miss Clarice, bless her soul, had given them oh so long ago. "A disease...I guess that's one way to word it?" She looked at Chance now, her brows pinched together. "Those affected...they lose all color, turn grey...the edges start to shatter and flake away...their eyes turn a bright yellow and blue! It's...um...a corruption of the core? Those affected only talk about going home...and symptoms include voices and whispering in the mind..." She frowned, briefly. "It's bad news bears! I've never heard of hunters getting it, thank goodness...but I've seen it happen to...the Halloween creatures and Horsemen." She charged the trainee once more, thrusting her lance at his torso. This was more enlightening than he'd thought it was. Chance slowed down, tapping the end of his bow against the side of his face, trying to piece together what she was telling him. The word core was rather interesting; he wondered what exactly that referred to. The core of a human - or rather, their heart? The core of a Horseman? The core of a Halloween creature?
Chance exhaled a breath - and then was promptly knocked off of his feet by Molly, the arrow he'd already notched snapping free as he collapsed to the grass yet again.
"Oof."

It'd been a really long time since that Insanity stuff...and that was something of a relief. Now though, they had Titans and stuff...Oh wait. Molly's eyes went wide again as she stared at Chance. "Oh...the Titans are made up of Insanity...so...be careful okay!?" Molly waited for Chance to get up to his feet again before she delivered her last strong hit, looking at him worriedly. "Do you know what a Titan is?" She had to ask, just to be sure. HP: 42 / 60 DMG: 8

"So, these titan things are made up of this Insanity disease..." Chance mused, more to himself than Molly. He wondered if they were around - and then wondered if it was a bad thing that his immediate response was to go off in search of them out of sheer curiosity.
(It probably was.)
But the rest of his thoughts were scattered, because Molly had knocked him off his feet again.
"The giant deities with incredible strength who used to rule during the Golden Age?" Chance wheezed from the ground.

As Chance was leveled again, Molly de-summoned her weapon, the lance returning to a spiral bracelet around her wrist. She jogged over to where Chance was, stooping a bit with her hands on her knees. "Are you okay!?" She asked, before she held out a freckled hand to him. "Uh..." She brows knitted. "...I don't think so...? At least...the ones around the Island aren't! I don't think..." A pause. "Around the Island, they're giant creatures that are shades of grey with glowing blue or yellow eyes! They're far, far off in the water and can be seen at times!"

"Just fine," Chance said, waving a hand up at Molly and smiling. "And that would be pretty cool if they were the original titans, but I suppose that if they're giant creatures plagued by this Insanity disease, that's pretty cool too."
There was a pause as he mulled this over.
"Maybe that's what I've been seeing on the horizon..."

Molly took the hand that was waving up at her. While Chance may have been a good height above her, the young man was a twig compared to her. She easily pulled him up to his feet, staring at his torso with a slight frown and knitted brows. Oh...was he eating okay? Oh gosh...he was so thin! So easy to pick up! Chance needed some cupcakes. The curly haired hunter mulled over this fact, missing Chance's musings entirely. At the end, she snapped her attention back to him. "Oh...! Um...yes! Maybe! There's a good chance that-- Oh! Sorry, your name!" She laughed a bit. "It's possible that that's what you're seeing..."

Chance brushed grass off of his clothes and smiled over at Molly in what was probably a relatively casual way. A hand lifted, fingers running through his dark curls as the bow was deummoned back to its snowflake-shaped pin on the front of his shirt.
"Don't worry," Chance said with a laugh. "I take pleasure at all of the possible jokes my name entails. And thank you for the spar, it really was very helpful. You definitely pack a wallop."

"Oh...gosh...I'm glad I could be helpful! Thank you for the spar! It was nice to meet you!" Molly stared at him for a long moment before her expression broke into one of awe. "You're so nice." She then stood at attention as a thought crossed her mind. "Oh! OH!" She cupped her face. "I remember what I was doing! Ah!" She started to turn to skitter off, but whipped back around to face Chance, still cupping her cheeks. "So good to meet you! Please take care of yourself and make sure to eat breakfast!" She then spun around and skittered off. A day or so later, though, Chance would find a box of a dozen homemade cupcakes outside his door, and would continue to find a box there at least once a week.
