All of a sudden his world went from something normal and safe to something strange and full of fear and horror. Then he looks down at his Mother to find her laying there in pain and out cold. Quickly getting off of her chest he quickly rolls her onto her left side then buries himself under her head to cry. He hopes that her being on her side and his being her pillow will help her to be more comfortable. Thinking of nothing else to do he just stays as still as he possibly can. Which doesn't work out because he's crying so hard his entire body is shacking. In his entire life with her she has never gotten hurt this badly and it was never his fault. She'd trip over something or other and then she'd fall which normally lead to some sort of bruising. Nothing too bad, she'd get right back up and dust herself off. This time she's out cold and sounds like she's in a good deal of pain. Then he remembers that panicking in this sort of situation won't help anyone at all. So taking deep and calming breaths he gets his thoughts together before he can stop crying. The only thing he doesn't notice is that all of his crying and shaking had started to wake her.

Waking up she sighs while blinking a few times to get her sight cleared. Before her sight is back to normal something bright red is lightly pressed into the tip of her muzzle. Giving a light snort she waits till her vision is normal before smiling and then cooing, "Well, I may not have taught you anything about flying though I must have taught your mane that if it's worth protecting it's worth keeping. Not a single scratch on those apples." Carefully moving she gets a better look at him while he turns to look at her. He seems to be just fine, though that's just his physical appearance. His mental self might not be doing so well because she can't remember a time when she ever fainted around him. Nuzzling him she tries calming him down, tries showing him that she's perfectly fine. So when she starts getting up she accidentally lets a whimper of pain out. Lightly biting her lower lip she stares at him in horror and slightly paling. Quickly cooing, "It's alright, see I'm alright. Just some bruising which will go away after a few days or something around there." Though any sort of movement causes small little whimpers to escape her lips and causes her to try calming him down each time. Not wishing to give him the time to freak out because she's in a bit of pain. She's used to some pain because when she daydreamed as much as she did she'd trip and fall over a lot of different things. She'd trip over tree roots, rocks, uneven ground, anything that someone could trip over and she'd trip over it if she wasn't paying attention.

While she dries his tears he looks at the apples to find them all in one piece before looking up and smiling at her. Knowing she's feeling well enough to joke around makes him feel better about crashing into her because she did move in his way to make sure he didn't get hurt. Though she never once thought about herself getting hurt by keeping him from getting hurt. Nuzzling her back, "I understand, you are still in some pain after what happened though I'm still terribly sorry. That was one of the worst ways to get down from a tree, I really wish it had been different. Now I am sure after what happened you'd want to find someone to teach me how to fly because neither of us want something like that to happen again." Whimpering from knowing she's in pain he turns before siting down, while picture what happened in his mind over and over again. His tentacles having a mind of their own hand her three apples to eat while he pouts from hurting her. Even if he knows it's not his fault for not knowing how to fly he still feels bad. He also knows she doesn't blame him so he'd think it'd be easier to get past this feeling, though he just can't not yet that is.

Turning like he did she sits down with a few of her own whimpers before turning to find apples being offered to her. With a bow of her head she whimpers a few times before smiling brightly, "Why thank you, it's nice that you are offering me some apples. At least you aren't effected by his moods so while he pouts and probably relives that time over and over again in his mind I can at least have a conversation with you. It might take me a while to understand what you mean to say because you can't really talk." Titling her head a bit causes some pain as well while she thinks then she turns back to them, "Though maybe you can write in the dirt with the use of a stick? I'm sure a conversation with you is most interesting." While eating the first apple she notices a few of them looking for a stick to write with while keeping from disturbing Yukio Beck. By the time she finishes the first apple they had finally found something to use though they are just out of reach of the stick. Smiling she shakes her head and notices the pain is just starting to fade, it's not fading fast, though it's still fading. Getting up she walks over to the stick and starts pushing it closer with her left front hoof. When it's closer enough the one picks the stick up while she goes back to her spot to sit down and start eating the second apple.

He didn't notice anything at all, not even when his tentacle mane moves around. Or even when his Mother got up to move the stick closer to him. So with the stick it writes down, 'You are very welcome.' Since he's not going to talk to her until she can get his attention they might as well. Though the one does rub and apple on the end of his muzzle to get his attention so he eats something. It works because he does start eating the one apple all while she finishes the third apple offered to her. Though, before eating the second one he looks over to her only to find the two of them had start a conversation. Since he took so long eating the tentacle had written more then what it first wrote. Blushing he looks up, "Guess I'm not the best of company at this point. I just feel so bad for what happened, I keep trying to convince myself that everything will be fine. And that I really shouldn't keep playing everything through my mind over and over again."

Nodding her head in an understanding way she just about doesn't feel any pain. And after such an interesting conversation with his mane she understand a bit more about both of them. "How about you finish your apples and we can try talking on the way there? Though, if you aren't up to talking about it I'm sure we can talk about something else when we get to our destination that is. Seeing as I'm not too sure you are in any mood to talk for the time being." Reaching over she nuzzles him a bit before eating another apple while waiting for him to either reply or to eat some more apples. Because when they finish they can get started on the journey to destination that they are trying to get to. By this time the tentacle had place the stick down having run out of things to talk about like Yukio Beck. So when she finishes eating her fifth apple he still hasn't said anything. Nuzzling him a bit more she gets up and asks, "Are you ready to get moving? The sooner we get moving the sooner we can work on your distance and jumping which I can only hope will take your mind off certain events of this morning." Lightly nudging him they start on their way.

All the way there neither of them say a single word though he does notice that she's not in as much pain. Or she's keeping him from know how much pain she's really in because of all the cantering they have been doing to get here. And after rearing at the one point he's sure he saw her wince in pain. He'd ask her, though he doesn't want to bring anything up after the events that happened because they are here to work on his distance and jumping. So walking to a certain spot they both get warmed up because she's going to be near him the whole time that he practices in case anything happens and she needs to tend to him as quickly as possible. Shaking his head he smiles a bit, though that doesn't last long. Closing his eyes he deeply and slowly inhales then does the same exhaling a good few times before he seems to be ready for what's ahead. Though before anything happens he waits for her to show him what he'll be jumping over by jumping over the tree branch or log or whatever they will be jumping over. So she goes racing off and leaps over the one fallen log. It's not too high that he couldn't get over so he waits for her to come back before he gives it a try. She did a wonderful job because she's been doing this for years so he knows he won't do as well his first time. Reaching the one spot he leaps up and over the log just to fall forward and roll a bit to end up on his back. He had tried so hard to keep his thoughts on his jump when his mind went to what happened earlier. He wasn't hurt, just very startled so he rolls over and gets up ready to practice some more.

Looking him over she wants to make sure nothing happened to him since one of them getting hurt today is one too many. Since nothing seems to be wrong on the outside she nuzzles him a bit to try comforting while trying to get his attention. When she does get his attention they start walking back while she smiles brightly down at him while he slightly smiles back up at her. She'd never seen anyone fall like that before without getting hurt, not even a scratch or a slight limp either. Since he isn't hurt she thinks about how perfectly he had fallen without getting hurt, which get her wondering how he was able to do that. It couldn't have been practiced because he seemed to lose focus at the last second. Shaking her thoughts she looks down at him then gives him a nudge while he pouts some more. "You should have seen the way you fell, it looked like it was what you meant to do. Maybe after you've learned how to fly we can both try to fall without getting hurt, or without getting hurt much. It might be a really good thing to learn because not every fall just leaves a few bruises. I know because of all the times I have fallen, sometimes you get scratches, cuts, gashes, fractures, and or a broken bone or bones." Slowing down a bit they turn then she nuzzles hims a bit while they stop to get ready to try again, "I never would have thought to try learning how to safely fall because it never occurred to me. Which is one of the hundreds of reasons I love having you around. No matter what happens I shall always love having you around."

Nuzzling her back he starts to smile, "You should have seen your face when you thought I was hurt, must have looked a lot like the expression I had on when you were hurt. Though, that does sound like a good idea. After I learn how to fly I'd feel a lot better about what happened because I know if there is a next time like that, that I'll be able to fly safely down without anything happening. That is unless for some reason my mane throws me off balance since it does move on it's own. I know it would never mean to hurt me, though, thing happen and that's just how it is?" Nodding his head a few times he lets his own words sink in while his heart still sinks from hurting her. Then looking up he nuzzles her a few times since that seems to help him feel better for a few seconds at least. Before they turn and get ready to go again he waits while she talks a bit more then replies, "It'd be horrible to have known you when you were younger with you tripping and falling so much because of your daydreaming. Though I seem to remember catching you daydreaming or in deep thought a few times before you start to drift off to sleep." Then nodding his head a bit more he agrees with the learning how to fall safely before he stomps his front hooves eager to try again, since he needs to do something to keep the memory from coming back into his mind. Shaking his head a bit he then looks up at her and with his eyes he almost seems to say talking doesn't help since all the things he replies to her with seem to connect to what happened earlier which isn't making him feel any better. Though he's not feeling any worse either, he's just stuck in the in-between of feeling really bad and feeling good.

Not wishing to upset him she stomps her front hooves a bit before they take off at a good enough speed like last time. While getting closer and closer she actually starts racing ahead of him which seems to bring out a slight competitiveness from him. She leaps over the log first before turning around and jumps back over it, and since he's coping everything she's doing it turns right around and jumps back over it. She hadn't been too sure how well he had been paying attention though with her racing ahead of him like that, it seems to have kept his mind from wandering for the time being. She's not too sure how many times she can get him with this little trick before he catches on and starts to lose concentration yet again. So walking back she still tries to stay one step ahead of him while still being slow enough so they are trotting. Then getting to the starting area she turns and stomps her front hooves a bit to find he does the same thing. Feeling happy to see he's still copying her she rears while tossing her head back and whinnies before coming back down and stomping her hooves some more. He also copies that which is still good, though he appears to be losing interest and fast. Without any warning she takes off leaving him behind which does get his attention once more. If talking won't work then she can use other ways to communicate with him. Like when he looked at her a certain way she just knew he didn't want to talk anymore. Which means from now until it starts getting late she'll just have to talk with her body movements and some neighs or whinnies.

He always loves copying her so even in the mood he's in now he's still trying to copy her because it's one of the hundreds of things that she loves about him. He never copies anything he knows she wouldn't like, or knows she did accidentally. Making her look foolish isn't what he wants even if there isn't anyone around to see what happened. So while she stomps her hooves, rears, whinnies, and races off without him, he tries copying her anyways. Though the racing away without him has him wonder inf if he's thinking too much and not paying as much attention to her as he should be. That is until the tenth or so time of jumping the log that it starts to sink in that she really is just racing off without him. So when they get ready for the next run she lines up to jump over a different area, a line of fallen branches because that's what they should have started off with. Being they are much smaller/shorter than the logs that are laying around and or the small to medium trees that have been pulled right out of the ground. This time he pays a lot of attention to her to make sure they start at the same time since he's caught on that his mind has still been wandering enough for her to start without him.

When she catches him carefully watching her out of the corner of his eye she knows that he finally caught on to what she was doing, though she's not so sure how much he has caught onto her because he doesn't seem angry. Her sweet, little, Yukio Beck just seems to be trying his best to pay more attention to her. So she motions for him to wait there while she decides to show him how to jump over the next ones because they are all at different angles as well as at different heights. Nothing too high, though with the branches at different angles it might catch him off guard the first few times that he jumps over them. A good deal of them are angled up or down, though some of them are angled so that they aren't straight across. They are turned more to the left or right if looked at form above so she wants to make sure he sees he jump. Then she'll take him through it slower to make sure he starts to get the hang of it. Then when she thinks he got the hang of it she'll let him run it with her. Looking down at him she stomps her front, left hoof, the amount of times she intends for them to take the jumps slowly. Before turning and cantering off to try the jump because she should have remembered to go over all of them a few times with him before actually leaping into the whole distance and jumping lessons. While getting closer she gets over the first few ones because there isn't much that's complicated about them. It's when she gets to the ones that are higher up, lower down, and then keep in that sort of pattern that start to throw her off. Trying her best not to fall she finally makes it past the last one before turning around to see what he thinks. Then looking back at the branches she ponders the idea of getting back without having jump all of them all over again. Making her wish she never choose this one to be the next one. Glancing over at some of the larger/taller logs she wonders if it's too late to change her mind and start them on just normal jumps. Though, looking back she see how happy he is and decides that she might as well do it for her sweet little one. Looking around she finds a better way around them before getting back to him. Yet, when she turns around to go again something interesting happens.

Shaking his head no he starts pushing her towards the stream, "I think it's about time we had a break, got something to drink, something to eat, and then we should relax in the stream a while before we do anything else. Because even from the distance that you were at I could tell you didn't seem to want to do the jump again. And I'm sure you have your reasons and I'm also sure it'd help a lot more if you stopped slightly moving and actually started heading towards the stream." Trying to catch his breath after trying to move her, he looks up, "See, we just need to get to a nice trot and we'll be over there in no time." Blushing slightly, "That, and I'm not so sure how well I'll do over that jump you went over. With all those branches at all those angles it looks hard." Smiling brightly up at her he nuzzles her while he replies, "Though, you made it look less difficult when you slowed enough and or jumped high enough to get over those jumps. A few times it looked like you might actually trip and fall over a few of them. So when you got over my heart soared knowing that if you can jump over it then I can go under it." Lightly laughing they both start walking over while he notices her smiling and shaking her head. When they reach the water he smiles up at her, "You should have known that was coming because there is no way I can jump over anything that you almost can't. The only ones that might give me problems are the lower down ones." Then reaching down he starts to drink from the cool stream while the smile starts to fade.

Hours later they had practiced together enough that Esperenza decided it would be a good time to start heading back before it gets any later. With Yukio Beck still uneasy about having hurt her earlier even if they do have to pass through the same area that it happened at. It wasn’t that bad, though, he’s so young and so sweet, it doesn’t take much to scare him especially if he does something that accidentally hurts her. Shaking her head she walks over to Yukio Beck and quickly puts her head under him to roll him down and onto her back. Seeing as he had really started to get into the whole practicing so much that he was starting to really wear himself out. She coos sweetly, “Alright, practice is over and it’s time to head home for the day, on the way back we’ll get some more apples.” Before he can feel sorry for himself some more and suggest getting something else to eat she shakes her mane a bit, “I’m not going to go all the around that area because everything is alright.” Smiling brightly she turns her head to the right and nuzzles him a bit before saying, “Anyways, I think I know a very interesting, fun, and very safe way to get the apples down. It'll be a lot safer for the both of us and there won't have to be any jumping from the tree to the ground this time. If you don’t feel like having a bit of fun I can always kick the tree trunk to get them down. Though, I think it would be rather nice to work together this time to get the apples down, don’t you think so as well?”

While she starts heading in the direction home he wonders what sort of safe way he could work with her to get the apples down. Seeing as he doesn’t want to upset her by saying no, and she does know some fun ways to get food. After yawning a bit he replies, “If you are sure it’ll be safe, and if we have to go through that area anyways, then I could give it a try. Seeing as you’d never do anything to hurt me I have no reason not to work with you to get the apples down. I guess if I had taken the time to talk about how I would get up the tree and then back down it would have went better for both of us?” Shaking his head a bit to try shaking the memory away he looks over, “So what sort of safer way do you have for me to get back down? Because the only way I can think would be to find a tree where the lowest branches are about head level for you. Which would mean I would have to leap onto your head and then to the lowest branch. Of course the branches above that one would have to be low enough for me to jump safely jump to. That way when I have all of the apples that I can carry I would only have to leap from branch to branch until I safely got back to you?” Never liking to have anything press against his gut he starts to turn to the left to start at the back of her neck before he lays his head down to rest a while.
