The large creature seemed to really like Mia, but Mia didn't seem to like it. "Hey! She said stay away!" Marcy stood right next to Mia, reaching out to smack the monster.
It hit her back.

Going after her was one thing, but hitting Marcy.
Oh no. No way. Now you've made her mind.
"How DARE you strike her," she hissed, summoning her butterflies to attack.
Her attack connected this time, making the monster stumble back, though not before retaliating with an attack of its own.

The thing had hurt her. And then Mia was there, with her pretty butterfly army, and the creature was attacking her, too.
"No, leave us alone, you big thing!" Marcy slapped at the monster, who in turned flailed and hit her back.

Mia wasn't sure how she felt having Marcy fight that giant thing as well, since as a member of the student council as a well as a sort of mentor (at least she'd like to think that), she really shouldn't be letting her handle this on her own. If she got hurt, or WORSE...
Still, she was admittedly doing a better job than her in terms of offence. Some mentor she was.
"I doubt that thing will listen to us." she sighed, summoning forth another attack, and getting hit in return.

"You're right, I don't think it's listening. It doesn't seem very nice." Marcy scowled and ducked away. She was scared of getting hit again. Besides, Mia seemed to be good at keeping it away.

Oh, the poor thing.
Mia gave her a sympathetic smile and then turned her attention back towards the beast.
"You'll pay for hurting her!"
She lashed out at it once more, yet missed, though it seemed that at the last creature had the decency not to strike back this time. She took the opportunity to check up on the ghoul.
"Marcy, dear, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine! Are you--" Marcy let out a squeak as the monster moved in close, for what Marcy assumed was an attack (though it may have resembled a hug). It's fat hand smacked her, and she hit it back.
"Bully!"

She should have stopped her from coming in her. As a member of the student council as well as a friend, she should have kept her from harm. But it seemed there was no way out until one of them was victorious, and Mia had no intention of being dissipated, nor allowing Marcy to be dissipated. It was already unforgivable that she allowed harm to come to her, and for that, she deeply regretted it.
"I am fine, but you need to take care of yourself."
Admittedly she herself was not much of a fighter, but Mia could only imagine how much it was as a first year. She regretted not training herself more, but she'd do what she can.
Mia summoned more butterflies, yet instead of attacking, they hovered around Marcy protectively.
"I won't stop you from fighting. I doubt I am strong enough to take this thing down myself, but the least I can do is support you. Please promise me you won't do anything rash."

"I won't!" Marcy found herself cowering a bit behind the butterflies. It was reassuring.
But it also left her friend out there to fight. Dilemma.

While it wasn't as strong as she would have liked, with the barrier in place, Mia felt a bit more at ease. Even if the monster should strike, it should hopefully hold up.
Luckily, Mia didn't have to worry about it as it decided not to attack, and Mia took the opportunity to heal Marcy up a bit.

Marcy flashed Mia a smile of thanks. She felt a little refreshed, and it was heartening.
So much so that she reached out to kick the monster when it came near the butterflies.

Mia deeply regretted swearing off battles in her earlier years. Now when she needed it the most, she couldn't even protect fellow student. What would happen when it became something even more serious?
As much as she hated it, she decided she would train herself more after this. If she let Marcy get dissipated, she'd never let herself live it down.

Marcy cheered Mia on, grinning. It was almost inspiring to watch her. So strong, so in control. Marcy was in awe.
But she also wanted to help. Too bad she couldn't seem to find a good place to kick the silly creature.

She was watching you, purple creature. Watching you. If it would just turn a little more....Marcy leaped forward, intending to hit the creature. But she missed.
It didn't even notice her.
