"yeah.." he muttered in confirmation. It'd been a miracle Mako himself had been able to befriend the little guy to begin with. But maybe it was just one of those things fate had decided beforehand. As ideas were rattled off, he pursed his lips in thought, trying to think of things that may work. "Well... yeah he likes battling, but that could get out of hand.." he trailed off, frowning a little. Sometimes the Emolga got a bit too into battling, and didn't leave anything in its path safe... But as he saw how engaged Emile was with the fruit, it did give him an idea.
Lifting his hand with the treat in tow, he let the rodent sniff at it, and slowly began to extend his arm to lure the uneasy creature out. Emile crawled along Mako's oustretched arm to reach the prize at the end, sitting nice and pretty while nibbling away contently... not seeming to give a care of the other trainer. The fruit was too good! "Will this work? Could probably place him somewhere more scenic, or what ever, so long as the fruit's there."

"He's fine just like that," Shaun assured him. "Photos showing a bond between trainer and pokemon are always nice, too." This camera had very little shutter sound, since it was intended to photographing wildlife, and Shaun switched the flash off, to be even less noticeable. He sat up, but didn't stand, since he figured the movement was more likely to catch the Emolga's attention. The longer he could encourage the shy pokemon to ignore him, the better. So he just stayed where he was and started taking pictures.

Emile was digging into the ripe snack, entire little snout concealed with in it as he munched away, making cute little smacking sounds as he chomped, and stuffed his cheeks. His face would be a mess... but the Emolga was quite tidy, and neat, always grooming and keeping his fur sleek and shiny. Of course Mako would assist with some brushing and baths on occasion.
But with all the attention that Emile was now getting, Fontanne was getting a bit jealous... Looking between Pokemon and Shaun, it gave him an idea... if eating the fruit was so great, and interested the photographer, then he'd partake in it too! And so he went ahead and hiked up on his hind quarters to take a lick at the little feast, pulling off a large chunk that'd been whittled down from the Emolga's persistent nibbling. With a few chomps of his own, the Absol looked to the Watcher, expecting him to be impressed.
Emile, on the other hand, gave a displeased squeak, and a few sparks began to spring from his cheeks, as only a small pinch of the fruit remained. Glaring down at Fontanne, he 'shouted' at the canine, before huffing, puffing, and falling into a very firm session of grooming, grumbling all along the way.
Mako simply gave a flat expression and a light sigh at the two, quite used to this behavior by now, "Fontanne, can't you share the spotlight for once." he chided, the Absol looking quite pleased with himself.

Shaun was chuckling at the exchange and had a little trouble keeping his camera steady, but he got a few shots of the whole event: The Absol stealing the fruit, the Emolga yelling at him, then settling down to groom. Setting then in a sequence could actually have the impression of a comic. He'd have to remember to try that sometime. And to remind himself, he hung his camera around his neck by its strap, pulled out a pocket notebook, and jotted down a note. "Looks like this guy wants all the attention, all the time, huh?" he commented, nodding towards the Absol. He looked around, spotted a driftwood branch not far away, and added, "Maybe we can find something to keep him busy, then." He headed over and broke off a piece about the length of his forearm. He thumped it on his palm a bit to make sure it was sturdy enough to not fall apart with one good bite, then held it up. "Hey boy, wanna play Fetch?"

Prancing with gusto, and confidence brimming, the Absol snuck a few glances Shaun's way to make sure the trainer was indeed watching him, paying no mind to the steamed Emolga.
"Seems to always be that way with him.." Mako grumbled, with a harmless firm glare aimed at the canine, who was still unbothered by any sort of displeasure shot his way. Almost as though he were immune to such distaste conveyed towards his person. With the mention of a game of fetch, the petite teen cocked a brow curiously. It was a bit of a cliche idea, but... maybe it'd work. The dark type did enjoy doing tricks and was exceptionally athletic.
With the prompted stick, Fountanne perked up nearly immediately, bright eyes flashing to the raised branch, and trotting on over to poise himself before the watcher. His rigid tail twitched in a wag, his attention focused on the challenge that was being presented.

Looks like that might do the trick, then. He wound back his arm for a couple practice swings, then threw the stick as far down the beach as he could manage. The stick looked like it would land behind a sand dune, which might give them a little more time before the Absol found it and retrieved it. With the canine pokemon momentarily diverted, Shaun looked back at the Emolga to see how he was doing. Would he calm down now, or still be annoyed?
