Mostly little problem. Good enough. Oh boy.
"Jesus," Dawson said with a sympathetic if horrified and also bewildered look, followed by a wince as the staff cracked down on his shoulder. Immediately he lost his nerve and ducked behind his shield again, switching arms to give the other a break. "How the hell...? I-I mean, if it really skewered you, man, like...s**t, what kinda trouble were you in?"

Matt watched as he ducked behind his shield again as he lunged his spear forward into the middle of the shield. It did no damage but Matt was more or less curious of his footing and how his other arm was holding up. It really wasn’t much use as a weapon in terms of offense but the shield Matt had to admit was pretty awesome for the most part still. “I didn’t think we were in any trouble it was a mission we where in some sort of Europe like place, but two of the guys where taken out and I stayed behind to help another. Turns out she was crazy, should really avoid being friendly all the time.” Health: 37/40 Damage: 0 Charge: 3/3

It was like an instinctual jerk, somehow twisting his impulse to flee into a charge in the opposite direction, a thirst that wasn't his briefly overtaking him. There was a sweet spot in Matt's swing, and Dawson turned the shield to rake him with its spiked edges. Syntyche purred as she drank in the Fear.

"s**t! Sawry, sawry," Dawson apologized hastily. "I just...Wait, was she one a'us? How'd she go crazy? Why?"

There was a look of surprise on Matt’s face before it turned into laughter with a matching grin, he hadn’t anticipated the spikes but they were quite a nice touch. Pain extended up his arm as Kasi’s voice rumbled through his mind about being reckless, it was not the worse he had dealt with but it was going to be sore a few days for sure. Leaning against his spear for a moment to shake his non-injured arm at Dawson in a dismissive shake, “No worries. She was, or so I had thought but something had gone completely wrong earlier in the mission that I was not aware of. It was her, or at least the body of her as for mind, she was possessed by something else, but of course knowing that I was too late.”Health: 27/40 Damage: 0 Charge: 3/3

"Possessed?" Dawson gulped audibly and crossed himself as he gave Syn the go ahead. The runes on his shield flared a bright orange, and what looked like liquid fire coated the barrier resting just over him, briefly giving him a fiery glow. "Like, literally?" he had to ask. "You ever figure out what made her do it?"

Matt watched as the runes on his shield flared into a bright color, this was one of the first few times he had been in a spar where the opponent had actually use their charge it was rather interesting to see. There was a little curiosity that if he got close enough to the flame would he be burned by it. Jabbing his spear forward he aimed for the hunter’s thigh to see what it would do. “No No I never did, to be fair I have avoided her since then.”Health: 27/40 Damage: 0 Charge: 3/3 medigel SORRY FOR MY LAME TYPOS and apparently double post? idk wtf gaia?

Matt's spear met his shield with a clang instead. "Shee-yit." Dawson crossed himself with a shake of his head. "Job scares the hell outta me n' I ain' even done nothin' yet. Least ya got out alrigh', man."
It might have colored his mood a bit much, given that his retaliating bash was more a nudge than something that hurt.
"I hear ya can even go to the dang place it's all comin' from. You been t'Halloween yet?"

With the charge Matt was not really doing anything against Dawson for the time being, which was ok and reassured him he would wait to use his own charge. This didn’t stop him at least swinging the spear at his left side with some enthusiasm. “Job scares a lot of people but like everything else you get use to it. You don’t really get out all right you end up with a scar and usually a little smarter about it next time around. Like don’t go alone. Ever.” Matt shook his head at Dawson’s question, “Nope never been. I know you can go with a golem but its not something I would want to go alone for the first time.” Hp: 26 Dmg: 1 (0-with charge yes? Or does it subject from the 10hp the shield has?) Charge: 3/3

"Yeah, I, uh, learned the safety in numbers bit reaaaaal quick," Dawson commented sheepishly. As Matt tickled the extra layer around him, he took the opportunity to smack him particularly hard with his shield. "First time I e'er went out, I got smacked around by this lil' horseman fella. Got some friends who kept hittin' trouble too 'cause they thought they was so good on they own."
He shook his head.
"But yeah, ain' rarin' t'go over to their main world either. Bad enough here, yeah?"

"Haha..." Matt let out a little laugh as if the joke in his head wasn't so funny but more so depressing after the thought about it for a moment. "I learned that lesson the hard way, about not going alone, and a party of two isn’t really enough you need like three or more. Something along the lines of a party." Not that he was really alone last time he pulled the stunt just merely with someone who was really a traitor not that it was in anyway connected to him trying to pull some heroic pride out of his a**. "Now that is a group I have yet to truly meet, the horseman.” It was the one group he had really wanted to meet, the real opposition, the real problem or at least that was what Matt had gathered over the few years he had been at Deus. “I have only gone over to the real world for vacation trips and what not…. there was that one time when I was a cruise and it sank, but I don’t know how well I would count that as real world.” Like half of the events he was sure it was likely another dream, but he thought about as he swung aimlessly at Dawson missing completely. Hp: 20 Dmg: 0 Charge: 3/3
