Fiction1119 aww, thank you! That's very nice ^^ <3 <3 <3 I love Rping with you! =D Painite laughed when she lost her balance and hit the ground, looking up at the angry squire and shaking her head. She was all too confident in herself, despite the mishap, considering she had some natural advantages as well. She was not lost to fury, for one, and she was a rank higher. She was usually not hindered by any kind of inhibitions.
Tonight, though, was the exception.
She could not afford to be injured too badly, in a way more than some energy would fix. She had a guest at home to take care of, after all, and she knew a battle loomed in the distance, though she had no real idea how things would turn out.
She did have to be fresh for it, though, and ready when the rescue crew finally came looking for her captive.
"You fight like a Nega," she cooed, getting to her feet slowly, "you're lucky I don't believe in bringing you miserable brats to our side, or I might want to corrupt you for myself."

Pompeii was surprisingly proud that two attacks in a row struck. She stood watching the nega as the general was sprawled on the gritty rooftop and briefly a part of her asked if she was willing to have blood on her hands. Unconsciously she glanced at her fingers and took a shocked step back when she saw the flash of red blood in the poor light. Pompeii had been in quite a few fights and had dealt damage as well as been dealt damage but never had she killed anything other than youma. Could she be not only judge and jury but executioner as well? The squire felt like she was swimming up stream as she slowly shook off the haze of anger and retribution. She knew the blood on her hands was her own, no strike she landed would have caused it, but it acted much like Lady Macbeth's 'spot'. It was a reminder that she had figurative blood on her hands not only literal, and Pompeii knew that even if she was to kill the general she would would only have more blood on her hands. She looked up as the nega started to talk and took yet another step backwards in denial. Pompeii shook her head with venom, "I am no chaos puppet!" Was she? Could the hatred she had felt been a type of chaos? Could she be more like the figure now standing in front of her then Pompeii originally thought. "No! I am nothing like you!" It was spit out with conviction Pompeii felt even while a small part of her asked if it was really true.

Painite watched as the knight retreated, grinning at her and looking calm and collected once she got her footing and breath back. She was having more fun with this fight than she thought she would, considering this was just a Squire and she was all too used to them being quick and pathetic opponents.
This one was not only putting up a fight, but proving a very amusing toy to play with. The look on Pompeii's face at the mention of chaos was pretty priceless, and Painite could not help the delighted laugh that bubbled up in her throat.
It was like playing a game for her.
"I'm sure you'll find, when you think about it, we're not too different. Isn't that what you lot always tell us, when you're trying to convince us to betray chaos? that Knights and the Negaverse are the same, two of the same things. Sides of a coin, isn't that it? Two sides. You could be the opposite side of me, you know. Just a little Chaos, and you're the same. You fight like a Nega. Maybe I'll mention you to one of the others, the ones that like to corrupt. I'll let you live, at the very least. I'm a very nice person, you know."
Her speech was jilted and came out in strange bursts of thought, her mind too far corrupted by chaos and the ordeal she had recently suffered through. But she was not much changed beyond that. Except that she could be considered even more evil.

Lithiasaur Attack or not is up to you..... Pompeii is more or less just up for talking now ^.^' further fighting will likely have her split depending on how bad it is XD Pompeii eyed her adversary as she watched the general get to her feet. The squire would not underestimate the negaverse officer but unlike before she had regained her mind, no longer was she thinking with her heart in charge but with just as much cold calculation as Pompeii could sense in the figure standing across the rooftop. She still felt the pressure of balancing the cosmic scales for the deaths of the civilians, as well as the the metaphorical blood on her hands. The thought of becoming what stood in front of her, Pompeii knew would haunt her dreams but what the general was saying also gave Pompeii a mental handhold. "Balance. Yin and yang, life and death, light and dark. You're right we are two sides of the same coin. But there is a big difference between us!" she could feel the blood seeping into her uniform from her wounds. They might not be serious but the blood loses could cause a whole new mess of problems. "Unlike you and your cronies I know that I might die in this war but I won't ever go over to your side... I would rather die than become someone as twisted as you. Chaos and darkness might cover light but it is not the same as putting it out. All light has to do is to exist to destroy the dark." Pompeii took a few steps forward and continued to say, "you might stop one of us but you can't destroy all light because there will always be someone to fight against the darkness." Pompeii once might have worried about being shoved into the darkness but she knew now that she truly would fight to the last breath since it was only part of the way she could pay back her failure in saving the innocents this night. Once again however she was letting her feelings take over, just not quite as badly as before as the sting of her injuries kept her more aware of her surroundings.

Fiction1119 Painite is not much for talking if she can avoid it. Painite rolled her eyes with spectacular theatricality.
"Do you all get the same script, or something, when you sign up for the obnoxious life? I get it, you guys think you're the only light in the universe, and that you're doing what you do for the good of everyone. But if that were true, wouldn't you also have to consider us in your grand scheme? At the end of the day, you're just another evil force, doing what you think is right, to get what you think is yours. You're no different to us, and you're certainly not our balance. That's just what you tell yourselves to make it feel okay. But we're not opposites: we're the exact same. That's why knights and negas end up the same, isn't it? It's just the color of your jersey. Different teams, but all playing the same game."
She shook her head, watching the other with keen interest, though her focus shifted between Pompeii's eyes and the growing blood stains on her uniform. Painite grinned wickedly, shifting from one foot to the other.
"But I'm not here to get all philosophical with you. I'm being real, I'm perfectly fine with what I do, and how I do it. I sleep perfectly at night, because I don't try to lie to myself. Not at all, not at all. I am Chaos. And you, my lovely little friend, are going to die tonight."
Deciding the conversation was done, Painite charged forward again, lifting her spear for another swing.

Lithiasaur Painite will have to kill her just to get her to stop talking XD "A script? Of course not. It's not like this is some play or sitcom or anime." Pompeii completely missed the sarcasm that the general directed at her. "Although to be honest most of this is very reminiscent of a epic play or opera." Pompeii's thoughts had gone off on a tangent and she was seriously contemplating how the whole war could be written into a book or play. Her mind tried to place most of the fighters that she had encountered in such a plot and sadly could only see herself as a background character at worst and at best a character like Tybalt or Mercutio, someone who dies and yet spurs on the plot. "And of course I take in account of your side, you're the antagonist of the play.... Story?..... Movie! Movie world work. A series thing like Lord of The Rings or something like that. Or better yet it could be like Marvel's take on the whole Avengers genre thingy where you have a whole bunch of movies in one universe." Pompeii really had gone off on her own mental tangent and completely missed the comment insinuating that she was just as bad as Painite. But she jumped back to the conversation when she caught the tail end of the general's comment about jerseys. "Sports? I thought we were talking about movies or I was at least.... Ok so if we go with the sports analogy which sport is it? Basketball? Baseball? Golf? I don't think wrestling can be considered a sport." Even Pompeii isn't normally this bad but it was likely the stress added to the bloodless that was making her more scattered than normal. Either that or one massively devious plan to throw Painite off her game. "Did you know that they now play Quidditch for real in college campuses across the country. Is that considered a sport? I think that would be pretty epic." As the purple knight rambled she kept a close eye on the general as even seemed to completely ignore her opponent as the negaverser announced her intention of killing her right then. The attack would be next she silently predicted as her mouth continued on without her, "I guess if we keep with the sports idea at what point can it change from a game of physical prowess to mental acuity? Could it be chess or checkers? You know they now have tournaments for video games like Call of Duty and Halo and other massive games like them?" She continued her rambling up to the point that Painite came at her with her spear swinging. Pompeii danced out of the way and wagged her finger at the negaverser. "Shame on you, I wasn't done talking. Besides you can't kill me yet, you first have to catch me." She ducked under the reach of the spear and with a smile reached out with her bloody hand, "the problem with pole arms is the reach. You might have a farther reach but you have a wider personal bubble and its harder to work with in close combat." Once more she shoved out at the general hoping to just throw her off balance long enough for her to safely head out. Her wounds were slight but still bleeding and even though Pompeii needed to balance the mental scales for the death of the two civilians she knew it would have to be balanced slowly over a series of fights. She wasn't willing to kill so she would need the balance a different way.

Fiction1119 She just might. We gotta figure a way to end this, though. Without murder, I imagine. Painite is a rank higher than her, after all, so she can't be pushed for too long before she goes for the obvious method. "I literally did not listen to any of that. What is wrong with you? Do you just think out loud or something? I didn't know I was fighting a mentally handicapped knight, that makes me feel guilty."
Painite was getting annoyed by all the pointless chatter. She was, of course, all for witty banter, sarcasm, and barbed back and forth, as was classic for villain and good guy interactions, but the more in depth it got, the less inclined she was to want to continue. It was not because she had a particularly short attention span, but more she knew what over thinking things could do to her, and wanted to avoid any moments of even the slightest conscience.
It was much easier to be terribly vicious and heartless without pausing to think about it first.
Not that she ever actually felt guilty about anything, but why risk it?

Pompeii rolled her eyes and took a few more steps back. Her mouth might have just spit out a whole pointless tirade but her mind was working just fine. "It made you stop didn't it?" She knew that between the two of them the general would win. between her still bleeding wounds and the power difference Pompeii would need to leave as fast as possible. Every move she made had the cuts remaining open keeping her blood flow slow yet steady, her uniform not really helping at all other than absorbing the red fluid. Pompeii didn't want to leave but as she took yet another step back she wavered a bit as a flash of dizziness overtook her. She no longer had a choice, better to live today and fight tomorrow. "You have a lot to atone for, these deaths as well as anything else you have done in the name of chaos and your own twisted mind." Pompeii had her own atonement to make as well. "We will meet again. You can try to kill me then, but for now think on this... 'It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness'" Pompeii smiled softly and with sadness and asked, "I know who will cry for me when I die, do you?" She backed away until she reached the edge of the roof, only pausing twice as dizziness passed through her.

"Atone is a silly word. And a silly concept," Painite said with a laugh, shaking her head slowly. Having to atone would mean having to admit she did anything wrong, which she did not agree with. Sure, she was the bad guy, and was all too happy to play it, but she did not feel bad about it. She did not think it was unnecessary.
She was just a part of the balancing act. Good and evil, and all that garbage.
"You're insufferable. But I'll see you again soon."
She did not have a reason to let the knight go. It would be all too easy to follow her, catch her, and kill her. But Painite supposed this one was a little too weird for her tastes, at least at the moment, and she had enough of being preached at for one night. Plus she had managed to kill two people already, and that was at least a bonus for the night.
There were things waiting for her attention, anyway, and she had been away too long already. Distracted. Clicking her tongue behind her teeth, she teleported away.

Lithiasaur Officially done and poor Pompeii needs some serious training XDXD Pompeii nearly fell to the rooftop in relief when the general teleported away. She had been sure that her rambling and general distraction would cause the batty negaverser to attack further, something she would not survive. With a strength of will she locked her knees and made her cautiously down the fire escape, once in the shadows of the alley she began to run, remaining just beyond any clear visual of her. Once she had reached a safe spot she would have to power down, make her way home, and deal with her wounds. As long as she didn't pass out along the way. Without the threat of death over her head the thoughts the general had brought up were swirling in the depths of her mind, it would haunt her just how close she had become to acting just like a negaverser. That and the mental scales she kept were still wildly out of balance. It would take time but even she had things to atone for from this night. -Fin-
