If King could be considered anything it would be a tactician, although he was a trainer by trade he was an expert strategist. His ability to play chess and compete so effectively against Pokemon so much stronger than his own was one of his strongest traits. He was willing to push on with these conditions as long as possible, with a power advantage he tended to get cocky, but feeling like an underdog he felt as if he had the world behind him pushing him forward. The idea that he was going to unite the world, with it at his back kept him moving forward. He showed promise as a trainer, although not the usual age of a trainer starting his or her journey he was still young. He had a lot of years ahead of him, and he would use them all as effectively as possible, for he was aware how quickly they could all end.

Now spending time near the statue of the Legendary Pokemon he was overlooking his strategies for longer battles and foreseeing what he would do in certain situations. With such a small group of Pokemon he had a hard time piecing together strategies. He was used to having a large stable of Pokemon with a large variety of move types. In the starting leg of his journey he was doing fairly well for himself. But his training for the upcoming league battles were going quite well. He couldn't formulate much in terms of a strategy until he was able to collect a few more comrades to help him with his cause.

Unable to sleep, unable to rest, the rush of being on this journey and winning his first badge had taken over. He had no idea how he would relax the adrenaline was running through him, he looked forward to challenging this leader, but knew that he would have to wait for a better time to do so. Right now he needed to focus on his training and his strategy. Looking to add another Pokemon to his team would be the best way he could improve his strategy, although not sure just which Pokemon he wanted to add to the roster he figured this would be as good a city as any to do it with. And hoped to soon have a full roster of six Pokemon to battle and strategize with.

It had been time to challenge himself once more. Standing before the statue of the Legendary Sinnoh Pokemon he offered up his hand in battle. Challenging the public to battle him in the open, in front of everyone. The crowd applauded after the dominant victory. Receiving a reception much warmer than he did in Oreburgh King bowed the crowd as he returned the triumphant Prinplup to his pokeball. The battle had gone well, and he had noticed some flaws in his strategy and type coverage, strengthening his need to widen his roster with more powerful Pokemon.
Compared to other trainers he spend much less time socializing and speaking with his Pokemon as if they were his friends. This led some to believe he was inadequate as a trainer, whereas he saw it as more of a strength, not growing too close or dependant to creatures he wasn’t sure could help him in the future. Once he settled into a routine he planned on strengthening his relationships with Pokemon but now was not the time for that, now was the time for rapid expansion.

Another wild Chingling, not the type he was looking to add to his team, he wanted something a little tougher. A Pokemon who could help round out his team, Ralts had proved to be fairly useless thusfar but as usual with psychic types they held great potential to be great in their later stages. Either way Chingling was of no interest to King.

It had seemed like ages since he had healed his Pokemon. They were all in fairly good health but it was just odd to him that he hadn’t been to the Pokemon Center in such a long while, he had a habit of going after nearly every battle, but lately he had been so focused on the rapid training of his Poke comrades that it wasn’t something he had even been thinking about too consciously. It was strange just how adrenaline affected him, although calm and cool on the outside he was driven but such a passionate fire inside of him that just pushed him further and further forward with his training.

Training for the battle with Gardenia was going well so far, there was a lot to be done while he was on his journey but the focus on badges would be the best gauge of his power. He needed power, both political and literal to be able to achieve his goals. Being able to focus on who he wanted the public to perceive him as well as being able to back that up and prove himself if need be would be vital in uniting the world. Without power a dream like that was far too unattainable, even though it was a long shot as is, he had to try, had to do all he could to make his dream come true.

His search for the right pokemon to add to his roster was proving troublesome. He wanted to make sure that he only caught Pokemon who were a good fit for what he wanted to achieve, he wasn’t out to complete a Pokedex, he had a goal he needed to accomplish and without the Pokemon who would be able to help him achieve that. Zig zagging in an out of town to run into any Pokemon he could without moving too far from town was the best strategy for running into the Pokemon he wanted to, whichever that may be.

It was a surprise that he could keep himself so clean while he trained and worked all day. His attire seemed to be more of a formal outfit, the royal purple suit, the mask, the elegant cape, it all seemed so regal and unnecessary. Somehow he made it work, it was a technological marvel that he didn’t sweat through the suit. But it appeared that he was just so cool that he never sweat, whatever it was, it was a large mystery.

Eterna city was going to be a much tougher gym than Oreburgh, although rumor had it that Gardenia was a grass type trainer. The grass type was the absolute weakest of all types against his current team. He was aware that Prinplup was weak to the grass type but he had more than enough in stock with his other Pokemon, as well as the Oblivion Wing to hold his own, he would be able to hold his own. He was curious to battle against Gardenia but again wanted to be sure that he was going to be able to defeat her, and that was the challenge. It was hard to be convinced you could convince a trainer you had no experience with, but he was confident nonetheless.

Healing up his Pokemon at the Center he was ready to continue his training. He had been doing a lot of work since he was in Eterna, he was making a lot of progress. He had a general plan for where he saw himself, it was going to take a lot of training to get that far. He needed to be able to defeat any trainer who stood against his goal, and that included these gym leaders, although no interested in going on a happy fun time Pokemon adventure he did need to go through the motions in order to garner enough power to achieve his goal.

As his Pokemon were healed and rested he sat in the Pokemon Center, ostracized as usual, by himself. With a small chess board in front of him he looked down at it. He had been playing a game with himself for quite some time now. He didn’t have much time to play since he had started his journey. But he had remembered where the pieces were place, whose turn it was and things of that nature. Looking at the board, he tapped the glass on his mask, he was at a loss, moving one of the bishops across the board he sighed, wrote it down in his journal what move he made and packed the board up, putting it back in his back. He usually only made one or two moves as he thought about the next one. He could of course play the game out in his head but preferred the feel and look of the board as he planned out the moves.

As he set out to return to training he used one of the Dawn Stones in his possession to evolve Snorunt to Froslass, a brutal combination of Ghost/Ice, making her a powerful addition to the team. He was looking forward to hammering away at this grass leader with the Ice Punch of the Froslass. Looking forward to the battle now he had more of an idea of what he was going to do against this leader.
