Merlinite sighed and nodded his head, though he was not sure he could imagine a civilian life right now. He was spending so much time doing Painite's bidding, he wasn't actually sure of the last time he powered down.
Actually, when was the last time he had any food? This morning? Yesterday morning?
"That seems like a better reason to fight than what I have, anyway, so it's heroic enough. Sometimes I think you guys really are the good guys, and Chaos has it wrong. But that kind of thinking... I don't know what to do with it. I used to be all about punching first and not asking any questions at all. Sometimes I think that's easier, too, than caring about others. Ugh. I don't know what's right."
"Maybe I should get out of here. If my boss comes looking for me, she'll rip you limb from limb. And I kinda don't want that to happen, so..."

If you feel wrong or can't sleep because of guilt? ******** that. Even if we're arguing on a battlefield sometime." She nodded. At mention of his boss, she shuddered. "I'd like to keep my limbs, yes. I take it she's a touch violent?" The senshi asked. If high commander was stronger... Yep, her a** was grass, likely.

She was right about a lot of things, he supposed. It was the same thing other senshi were telling him, and it was surprising how nice they all were to someone who was not exactly on their team. At least not yet. And they were nice to him even before they knew he was considering changing sides.
Hell, they were nice to him even before he knew he was considering it. He had already made a few good senshi friends, before this whole mess.
"More than a little violent, I'd say. She's one of the craziest people I've ever seen, to be honest, and that's saying a lot. Ever since she healed she's just been... something did not set right in her head, I guess. But Painite is the kind of person that will not just stop at you, but all the people you care about, if she hates you enough. And it's really not hard to get on her bad side. But yeah. Thanks for the pep talk. I've got to make a decision."

"Painite. I'll pass it to a knight I know too, just to be safe." Her father would need to know who to watch for, and liely Helicon as well, but for now, she finally offered Merlinite a full smile. This one? For his bad choicers was a Good Kid and she offered him her hand. "Hey. Merlinite? Any time. If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to track me down and hit me up. I tend to wander around, but I'm always happy to help someone. Okay?" Cautiously, she lightly pat his shoulder. "You seem like okay people to me. And don't worry." She winked. "Everything will work out how it's meant to."

"Try not to talk too much about this to anyone right now... I'm just not... I don't know if this is a thing or if I want to risk anyone or... I don't know. Just don't put your neck out there."
He looked at her hand, then up at her skeptically, but his instincts were fleeting. Reaching out cautiously, he took her hand and gave it a firm shake, even managing a thin smile of appreciation.
"I think I believe you," he said, and that was a hard thing to understand. However this was supposed to end, he couldn't tell yet. But if most senshi were like her, and the other friends he had made so far, then he felt like the White Moon might just be the right place for him. It was a big step, but it was more and more appealing.
"Thanks."

Elpis grinned a bit more, shaking his hand firmly. "I just heard from a friend in the field about one of the ga higher ups, that's all I know." She winked, feigning innocent. "Why, surely not an agent. Surely not." Because she understood safety, and he was trusting an enemy - trust she wasn't going to throw in his face and break, no matter how little. He obviously needed people to rely on not to hurt him. "Neck? Psh. Wouldn't be the first person I'd do it for. Call me protective if I like somebody. You're a nice guy. But I'll be careful." No sense risking dying. "And Merlinite? Anytime."

Merlinite watched her for a moment, not sure what else to say, and feeling a little too much all at once. No one in the Negaverse was so nice or understanding, at least as far as he had met. But then, he had never really been able to make friends with other Negas. Maybe it was just an inherent need to compete with them, or maybe it was just something a little more meaningful than that...
Whatever the case, though, he found the White Moon was a lot more accepting and, well... welcoming.
He was not sure he could think of anything else to say, though, and gave her a nod and a very small smile.
Then he decided to teleport away so he did not put his foot in his mouth and ruin things further. He vanished from sight, reappearing some distance away so he could power down and head back to the woods to meet up with Painite and take up his duties with her again.

Elpis tilted her head, and blinked, but shrugged. It was possible he had a very good reason to run, so she didn't press, deciding to start walking thoughtfully, muling over the information sher'd learned. Strange group. Very very strange... And likely many were dangerous.
