At least it wasn't Peyla. She'd gladly leave that particular sprite pouting on the ground. This one seemed legitimately hurt, and she wasn't sure it would be able to fly before it cleaned up a little.
"Here."
She placed Atipi on the ground, and the kinfa looked up to her with curious eyes. Down now? Okay! She waddled to Hijil's side to be near her sister and watched as Bhima crouched and gently scooped the sprite into her hands to carry. With that she turned back toward the inn and nodded for Atipi to follow. "Come on, little one."
The green kinfa happily obeyed and waddled after the trio. She would need some help getting up the stairs, but hopefully by the the sprite would be able to sit on a shoulder or in a pocket and allow Bhima to lift her again.

Achik was too rattled to do more than vaguely protest the lifting in a miserable (and perhaps indignant) squeak, looking up at the Alkidike and the world in hopeless defeat. If he had been in a thankful mood, he would have been happy, though, to be handled so gently...Ath wiggled as her sister came near, flapping as best she could, even as Hijil returned her hand to the fluffy feathery body. Look! She was flying! She was up in the air and flapping! See? She flapped again, squealing in delight as they moved. Ath was sure she was doing this – all by herself.
She called to her sister to look as she tried to replicate half-remembered gestures from their parents, before the nest had been abandoned by some tragedy and left to the small bug thing that fed them.
Of course, Ath could not fly yet, but she didn't seem to know or care...Hijil secured her bird gratefully as Bhima took up the mantle of 'sprite holder'. She followed behind Atipi, just to make sure the little one made it in, though her own hands were full of excited baby kinfa and she was fairly sure she was trailing feathers.
They walked past the amused, astonished, and annoyed eyes of the shifter family, Hijil too preoccupied with keeping a hold of her charge – and helping her other charge - to notice it much. They made it up the stairs – Hijil waving Bhima on as she gave Atipi a few sneaky (for the prideful bird would likely have pecked her or refused if she hadn't been careful) boosts with her foot – and back to their room.
It couldn't have been more than a few minutes since they had awakened to the Kinfa's cries, but Hijil felt drained, as if she had been up and out all day. Between Bhima and the kinfa and the sprite and the Shifters, Hijil's day was more active than it ever had been. A good kind of active, but tiring. If this was how things would be... It would take some getting used to.
She nudged Atipi into the room. A question that had been stewing inside her mind burst forth, a fragment of genuine curiousity. She looked at the tannish creature, who had recovered enough to move about Bhima's arms (though his wings were still being shaken out) and look at the Kinfa intently. ”What do sprites eat?” she asked.

Atipi happily copied her sister, stumbling forward and flapping her own wings. Certainly if she flapped hard enough she could take to the air too! She peeped and trilled in excitement and Bhima could only turn down to her.
"Shhh, you!" Except they hadn't been together long enough for the kinfa to know what that meant. She did calm as they came inside, though, entirely sure that the little bump up the stairs was of her own doing, giving a little peep at the pressure each time. Bhima couldn't help but smile. This had been one heck of a day thus far, but she was with Hijil. There was no negativity here.
When they reached the room she turned to the Shifter and furrowed her brow.
"I'm not sure," she replied, and then looked to the sprite. Were they... omnivorous? That was her best bet. Rather than fuss over a language barrier, she lifted the sprite gently again and placed it on the table where the food had been left the night before. "Go ahead, eat up." If it was even hungry. Atipi wandered over to Hijil, peered up at her sister, and peeped. She would like sister-down now, please!

Achik didn't think he was hungry, but apparently he was, because when he took a tentative and grudging bite of the bread that had been left there the night before, he suddenly knew it with certainty. He wrenched out another piece and ate it, needing the nourishment (or at least the carbs) after the trying day he was having...Yes! Down now! Ath flapped, trying to 'land' herself. Hijil obliged her, placing her gently on the ground as Ath flapped vigorously at the air with her thin, not-yet-developed wings. She crowed triumphantly as her small talons touched the floor and she proceeded to tackle-glomp her sister.
”Aww...” Hijil exclaimed at their playing, hoping it was just play. She decided to leave them to it, going over to Bhima and reaching for her hand. ”I think” she said softly, gazing at Bhima shyly, ”We'll be very busy.” together.

Atipi fluffed and flapped happily, accepting the forceful affection with glee. She pushed back, making a soft trilling sound and nuzzling her beak into her sister's feather. They were together again! Atipi had missed you so much, Sister!
Bhima sighed, but it was a relieved soft of sound, perhaps even a little excited. Two baby kinfa, an irritated sprite, and Hijil. It was that last part that sounded so nice in her head. She had found Hijil, finally. Nothing would ever be the same again, and that was a wonderful thought.
