As time passed slowly in the car Adam grew impatient. He was a man who could wait for things, he could wait for plans to fall together, but he dreaded the waiting that came with driving. Normally he would be caught in a morphine haze by now but he didn't want his daughter to see that. Adam shifted his weight to his right side and spoke up to Rick "How long until we arrive at their dismal home?" The senator turned to his daughter "No offense intended."
"A few more minutes." Rick responded in a bland tone as he focused on steering. Adam let out a slight sigh and reclined in his chair. The next few minutes would seem far longer for him than they would for anyone else in the car. Time always seemed to feel longer for him. However by now they were well on their way to the apartment. Soon, they would arrive.
