artman_2.0 As the dwarf of a man hefted another girder on his shoulder, he saw a haggard, pallid figure ambling up the road. Was is someone in desperate need of help, or another mindless spook wandering the barren wastes? "Halt! Speak yer business here or wander off where you came from, cause if ya rush me, I'm takin' off yer head," he growled, glaring and standing his ground. With that metal girder easily twice his size sitting on his shoulder without a hint of effort, his words carried quite a bit of weight. But as Sasha sized him up, Tony merely stood at attention as he awaited her actions. In response to Tony's threat, Sasha held her hands into the air as a sign of non-hostility. "I'm sorry. I'm no threat to you at all. I'm just a dying woman looking for other survivors." As she kept her hands in the air, a few drops of blood dripped out of her right hand, and onto the ground. She knelt onto the ground to get a closer look at her hand. She had attempted to remove the glass herself, but all it had done was cause more pain. It seemed all she could do was pretend she hand no right arm at all, unless someone could remove the glass.

Tony gave a little sigh and placed the girder on the ground as a sign of non-hostility in kind. "Come on over here. I may not be a doctor, but I can at least patch you up," he replied, ordering a robot to gather materials as he tended to his new houseguest.

I'm glad that I could find someone of your kindness in this land!" Sasha rose up from her kneeling position, following Tony to his house. "Say, you haven't seen any other people around here, have you? The thing is, I'm searching for my sisters. I haven't seen them since the bombs dropped. Oh! They must be worried sick about me! They may even think I'm dead! Please, sir. Tell me you've seen at least one other person besides myself." She looked at the place ahead. Was this their destination? Is this what her short savior called home?

He led her inside the more homey part of the garage, just past his office and into a den. "Sit here, I'll be right back," he replied as he sat her on a surprisingly clean couch. Tony returned a few moments later with a small basket filled with bandages and medicine. He pulled out a pair of tweezers. "This is gonna sting, but what will happen if I don't will hurt way worse," he said, taking her hand and starting to slowly pull the slivers of glass out from her dainty hand.

"This is gonna sting, but what will happen if I don't will hurt way worse," he said, taking her hand and starting to slowly pull the slivers of glass out from her dainty hand. Sasha just stood still, clenching her teeth while keeping her eyes shut. She definitely didn't want glass in her hand for any longer, knowing that she had to endure for a brief moment. It's what her mother used to say, "If it is to heal, it is to hurt." She began to think, it's kind of like taking all of the pain at once right now, so she doesn't have to take any later. "Nngh..", she lightly grunted as she felt some glass begin to be pulled from her flesh. With closed eyes, she couldn't see what Tony removed. All she could do was feel where the glass was. She started to wonder which would be worse, seeing AND feeling this surgical process, or only feeling it, kept completely in the dark on how well the person helping you is doing? As time passed, Sasha kept herself occupied with such thoughts. They seemed to last long enough for Tony to declare that he was finished. She opened her eyes to find her hand was glass free. It was cut and bleeding, but it seems her host had some nearby bandages he intended to use. "Oh, thank you! I am ever grateful for your assistance!", she exclaimed. Sasha awaited the bandages, and a chance to express further gratitude.

"Right, now I'm gonna need you to take a deep breath and hold it. You can close your eyes if you want to," he said as he dug out a bottle of antiseptic. "No two ways around it, this is going to sting like a b***h," he said, uncorking the bottle. "But it'll clean out those wounds and make 'em heal faster."

It seems that the time to endure was not over. She prepared herself for one last thing. She had to take the sting of this medicine, and that would be it. She looked away, not wanting to see it while it happened. She just gritted her teeth as she thought of her plans after this.

After he cleaned her wounds out, he carefully wrapped her hands in gauze to keep out infection. "Alright. I'm sure you're hungry too?" he asked gruffly. He couldn't turn a blind eye to someone in need, especially since she was the first company he had in a long while.

It was rather strange to see it cloaked in gauze like this. She chuckled as her hands make her think of a mummy. "Oh!" She turned to Tony to answer his question. "Hungry? Well..." She looked at the floor unsurely before looking up. "I mean... I kinda am... but I wouldn't want to burden you any further. You've already done enough for me. I don't need to be a freeloader." "I'm not sure how much food you have, but it couldn't be enough to sustain two people for any prolonged amount of time.... Could it?"

"As long as you ain't worried about it tastin' good, I've got enough hardtack and military rations to feed a small army for several years. No joke, this stuff never expires. Though I'm often trading it to caravans who roam by for more perishable supplies. So what I do have that tastes good, I don't have a lot of. But I could let you look through the fridge or the cabinet and find something you like," he replied, helping her to her feet.

Tony was obviously a very generous man. Not only that, but he was resourceful. Where Sasha had withered, he had flourished. While she had no other contact with people, Tony claims to see tradesmen. It would be a wise decision to take this chance while it was still here. As long as she didn't bother Tony with anything, this could provide a temporary shelter for her. "I see your point.", she finally said, "We can't be picky about what we eat, can we? In that case, I'll take anything you're willing to give." She walked with him to wherever he kept the food, curious of what exactly his "military rations" consisted of.

Among the more 'gourmet' options in the cabinet were baked beans and wieners, spiral pasta and processed cheese powder, a brightly colored box of cereal designed to catch the eyes of children, and instant mashed potatoes and rice. The frozen and refrigerated options consisted of some stale bacon, milk that was rapidly approaching it's expiration date, some accompanying 'butter', and a frozen pepperoni pizza.

She took a small frame of time to explore her dining options. He surely wasn't kidding when he said he had enough to last many people. Though she still felt a bit guilty for living off his supplies. The tried to tell herself in her head, "I almost died out there. What other option do I have?" She decided that she wouldn't stay here much longer. She planned to eat, thank Tony, and leave. "May I have the instant mashed potatoes?", Sasha asked Tony.

He simply gave her a nod before digging out a pot, filling it with water, a little salt and a little butter, before bringing it to a boil. "So, what are your plans for out there? It ain't really a place for a delicate flower like you."

It ain't really a place for a delicate flower like you." Initially, she didn't say a thing. She didn't expect a conversation to start while her meal was being made. Once she realized it would be polite to speak back, she did such. "As I said before, I'm looking for my sisters. I have six of them, and we all used to look out for each other. I don't know where they could be, but that's what I have to find out. After this meal, I plan on leaving to continue my search."
