"I will say it as bluntly as possible," he snaked an arm around Noah and pulled him firmly hip to hip. "Noah, I. Want. You." He finally untensed at this point. "I'd scream it from every rooftop in this ******** facility if it wouldn't probably get the both of us set on fire," and finally he was smiling again and his body was trembling now. Not out of fear though, it was excitement and a suppressed surge of emotions erupting beneath the surface. "Do you want me to show you how much I want you?"
He looked away finally and was grinning ear to ear, " 'cause I don't mind getting set on fire if you don't."
He didn't really seem to care about the experiment, a week felt like nothing more than a drop in a bucket compared with everything else.

"Okay. I believe you." Noah leaned into the contact, still shaking a little himself. He swallowed. "Is it okay if I don't want people to know yet? I mean, would you be mad? I don't want everyone thinking we were cheating, it's, just for a little while so it's not, like. You know." Tentatively, he slipped his arm around Al's waist.

Al leaned his head over to rest heavily against Noah's, "it's okay, I understand why-" He suddenly frowned. "I- um." He lifted his head again to look at Noah with a concerned frown. "Can I tell one person? I mean, he is my boss and I don't think I'd be okay keeping this from him. It would seem like I was doing something wrong - when I'm not."

"Yeah. Yeah that's fine, I just." Noah met Al's eyes worriedly. "People are gonna be mad at me, I just want people to be mad at me for something I did, instead of something I didn't do. You know?" He rested his head against Al's, sighing. "Thanks," he said, very quietly.

"Y-yeah, I know," he squeezed Noah a little tighter and held his phone up. He turned his head to face it and smiled big. A soft beep emitted from his phone accompanied by a flash, immortalizing this moment forever. The moment he felt like he was on top of the world. He attached the picture to a text and sent it to his 'boss'.and then he thought better of leaving it with just that, this was Rep after all.Quote: Text to Rep: Don't tell anyone. He turned his phone off and pocketed it away. There were no other pressing matters in his way anymore. All focus slid back to Noah himself. He moved to slide a hand along his jawline and eye his lips. "Would it be too forward if I kissed you?"

Noah looked up at the phone, wide-eyed, just in time to catch the flash in his eyes. He squeaked again and rubbed his eyes with his free hand, feeling another moment of weightless panic, but he didn't move to stop Al from sending the picture. He'd said it was okay, even if he hadn't expected photo evidence; he could only hope that that decision wouldn't come back to bite him in the a**. He'd ask for the picture, but later.
The question made him forget about the picture in short order. He held his breath a moment, trying to figure out what he felt, what he wanted; he wanted that, but he was a mess right now, but he'd done all of this so he could have more than friendship, but he didn't know what he wanted right now, but it had been over a year since they hadn't kissed and ohgod this would be the first --
Laz growled, startling him into breathing again, and said peevishly, MAKE UP YOUR JACKING MIND. YOU WANT TO OR NOT?
If he was going to put it that way, it was a pretty clear answer, and it made Noah feel better that Al had asked first, given him the option to say no if he didn't want to yet. He took a breath, shook his head a little, and leaned in to kiss Al himself, because he'd decided, because if he was going to do this he wasn't going to just passively let things happen to him.

Al shivered just a little out of surprise at first before he realized, rather delightedly, what was going on. He smiled into the kiss before throwing his arms around Noah and trying to join in.
Unfortunately, he was extremely bad at kissing, the only lesson he'd had was from a long ago memory in another life that never got to be led. At least he was enthusiastic, even if a bit messy.

Noah didn't know why he hadn't expected Al not to be good at kissing, but it was still a bit of a surprise. It wasn't awful, but the lack of experience showed, and in a weird way that made him relax further. Maybe it was sort of hypocritical of him ... no, definitely it was sort of hypocritical of him to be pleased that Al hadn't been off practicing, but he couldn't help the feeling. He'd get to show him how, and that was kind of a nice thought.
A small, almost-detached part of him couldn't keep from making comparisons. It was different, even past the obvious surface differences and the clumsiness, unlike the calmly escalating slow-burn he'd gotten used to; this was an intense and restless feeling, immediate and all-over, like electricity skittering and arcing just under the surface of his skin. It was too much for his raw nerves, and he pulled back after a few moments, shivering. "I - I just want to rest for a little, is that okay," he asked.

Al wilted a little when Noah finally pulled away. He was very certain he had been doing it right, even now, so he understood the request when it finally came as nothing more than what Noah said. "Of course," he shuffled around him, pushing the pelts out a bit so Noah had room to lay down comfortably. Al was a bit uncertain though when he realized there wasn't enough to cushion and cover two people without basically being on top of one another... he was sure that isn't what Noah was requesting.
Was it?
He looked around his room for anything that could be used to expand the area so it wasn't as awkward. He started gathering up his dirty clothes for the first time in weeks and started to pile them up.

The slightly awkward realization that the bed was pretty much a one-person space hit Noah at about the same time; fortunately, it seemed like Al had an idea about what to do about that and wasn't just automatically assuming that they were going to squish together. He gave Al an apologetic look and helped to pull some of the furs into place to make the makeshift bed wider. Once that job was done, he flopped back onto it, taking the right side without thinking about it, and put his arm over his eyes, trying to calm down. Too many wild and opposing feelings, in sequence and all at once, and he felt like he'd been twisted and stretched and wrung out, his sense of himself stretched thin and ragged.
"Sorry," he said in a small voice, and then, "thank you."

Al shoved the clothes pile to the edge of the furs and crawled to rest on top of them. He looked at the elk around himself and then at Noah and slid it over him. He grabbed a couple shirts, putting one on and spreading the remaining one over his top half. He curled into a tight ball for added warmth and attempted to sleep.
He couldn't, not really, his mind was abuzz with excited thoughts. He wasn't worried about people finding out or making a thing. He was worried about Noah worrying too much about such things. But that worry was small and shadowed by the fact he was actually here. In his bed. In. His. Bed. The mental squealing was accompanied by trembling again. At least he had the excuse that he might just be a little cold. He honestly couldn't even feel the cold.

"Here," Noah mumbled after a minute and slid the fur over to share it. "I'll bring a blanket next time." He moved over slightly and turned onto his side to make a little more room and put their backs together to share warmth. He was worried, tired, uncertain; still hurting, still elated, and the tension between the emotions was unbearable, and he wanted to not have to deal with it for a while. Still, he didn't think he would be capable of sleep any time soon, not with the swirl and skitter of his mind.
Exhaustion overtook him anyway, and within a few minutes, his breathing had evened out to the slow, regular rhythm of sleep.

Once Al was sure Noah was asleep, he carefully turned around and slid an arm around him. He nuzzled into the back of Noah's head and eventually also found his peace drowning in the scent and warmth of the other man.
He realized, distantly, that the adventure had only just begun. His final thought before finally drifting off to join him.
