"Maybe it's silly, for that one thing to mean so much. To have clung to it..." But how could he not? How could he be content with so little, when he'd seen so much?
Hebi's words caught his attention and his ears perked to listen, a smile forming on his maw. Although he didn't know if he believed it, he wouldn't dare to disagree with Hebi's feeling. It had been Hebi's kindness and his own innocence at the time. Hebi was kind and not a monster or someone to be feared just because he was different. Kimi knew he couldn't have been the only ulaya to ever see that. Not in the same way that Hebi had shown him so much. Either way, each point of view was important, if Hebi wanted to owe it to his youth, so be it.
"Holding on to certain memories... life so far has been good. With a dear friend such as you..."

Hebi smiled at his friend who had wise words of his own, even if he didn't realize it himself. Laying his head down on the ground he wrapped it around Kimi's body, like a mother goose protecting it's young, and closed his eyes. The wind whipped around in the cave and the fire flickered hard with the sudden blowing that pushed it around. Closing his eyes he continued to keep the smile plastered on his face. "Perhaps we can go for a flight in the morning." He held Kimi tightly with warmth and affection in a way that only a few have had the chance to receive from him. "If the snow storm has ended, that is." He released a laughing sigh and nuzzled into the boy's arm with his cheek. Sleep was starting to take it's toll on the draco and as much as he wanted to enjoy the evening with his friend it was getting harder to keep awake. Hebi was surprised the ulaya wasn't asleep himself for he seemed to be even more tired than the draco was but perhaps he was just quite comfortable wrapped in the warm embrace.

Wrapped up in the warmth of another, as well as nostalgic company, Kimihiro became aware just how much he really did miss that comfort. Even if he didn't know Hebi well, it was still a very comforting feeling to share warmth like this and he was again sure that heading home was a trip worth making. He'd gotten to used to the cold, the sound of wind and not the presence of another's breathing.
The suggestion from Hebi caught Kimi to lift his head once more. "I'm probably too big..." he began, but realized all at once that even if he'd grown up, he had probably not gotten too big for a draco to carry after all. The size difference between them was still clear. "Ah, that is... if the weather, and if time permits." He dropped his head back down, tucking in close, curling more tightly against Hebi's side.
"I'd love to."

Hebi smiled but didn't speak another word for he knew they were both drifting off into a comfortable slumber wrapped up tightly against each other's warmth. Sleep soon came for the large draco and it was quite the restful night which was a lot more than he had expected when the night had began. The wind blew sofly into the tiny cave as the sunlight made an attempt to shine through. The draco's body was starting to feel the warmth the day was greeting them with as the snow blew up with the breeze and flew around in a sparkly shimmer of beautiful white. Hebi's mind was away but his eyes told him they wanted to go back to sleep. It was then he remembered he had Kimi bundled under his wing and he opened one of his eyes to see the pale ulaya still sleeping peacefully under his draco blanket. Smiling slightly, the orange draco lifted his head to release a wide yawn before blinking to the morning's light. The storm had retreated back into the clouds it had come from and the day brought a new feeling to Hebi. It had been a while since he had company of another and he was having mixed feeling about the storm's absence. On the plus side, it was now clear enough to continue on his own adventures but that also mean he would soon be saying good bye to a good friend once again. Releasing a sigh be remained as still as he could so not to wake the small ulaya who was still off in his own dream world.

Kimi came awake all at once. Although he did sleep warm and peacefully, he never had the most pleasant of dreams. Waking up curled beneath the wing of the draco in a bubble of warmth was disorientating at best. Kimi didn't startle, but still it took him some time to become aware he was awake and that Hebi was not only really there, but that he was perfectly safe. He did his best to yawn politely when the urge overcame him, tucking his face against the crook of his arm, stretching out each limb slowly after that. He wasn't as stiff as a cold morning alone would bring, but still, best to move slow, or not at all later.
The amount of sun coming into their tiny shelter said that they had the good fortune to find the storm had past, and remembering the words from his friend from the night before he was quietly excited. "Good Morning, Hebi," he spoke softly, breaking the hush as he lift his body, still stretching out his limbs this way and that. "Ah, I hope you slept well."
