"No, but, this was really hot sauce, like breathing fire. I'll test you sometime." He grinned. It was... it was just really nice to hear Melvin laugh - he didn't seem like a guy who had much to laugh about recently. "Yeah, Dylon's a good guy - he's made it a personal project to sleep with half of the island." Horace rolled his eyes briefly. Not a bad pursuit (there were certainly worse), but Horace didn't think Dylon would ever succeed.

His blue eyes tracked Melvin's movements intently. He knew it was a golem, but it still was horribly unnerving to watch his friend get smashed or partially dissolved. The words filtered over to him and he stared, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

"You did it! This calls for a celebration!" He jumped onto the next tile, and it fell away into some bottomless void. With a yelp, he jumped again and waited, breath baited. Nothing happened.

Two more steps, two more, and he was done. Horace supposed he could find the course fun if he were into near death experiences. 'I like spicy things, but, alas, my tongue doesn't like being burnt." He liked that Melvin was sticking around - the other hunter could've left. He inched forward onto a tile with one foot and then another. Something clicked.

Suddenly, a javelin came hurtling out of nowhereand shot clean through his arm, pinning it to his side. Horace made a strangled noise and nearly fell over, stumbling forward. HE caught himself just in time, tottering, face pale, but still on his tile. "But why doesn it have to HURT so much?" He muttered through clenched teeth. It wasn't a good, bruising kind of pain, either.

He smiled back, glad that Horace had made it through the course relatively shortly after him. "That's the point of these courses. Do them until you get finished and never look at them again. Well, unless you want to help someone else." Which he hadn't done yet.

"Let's get out of here. Your talk of hot cause reminded me I skipped breakfast." He headed through the doors to drop off his golem and wake up from the control pod.
