The 'playful' nudge was enough to send the little Alkidike girl staggering to the side. Of course, being Yitzah, she nudged the beast right back, unable to do much against its mountains of plates and muscle. She had to show, though, that she wasn't afraid of the beast, and she wasn't. She honestly wasn't, big and monstrous though he was.
It was her turn to take the dice, though she hadn't really been paying attention to the proceedings much. Nonchalantly, she threw it, before turning back to pet the beast.
See? Not scary.

Reill made a face at his brother's comment and picked up the die. Sir Luck was he? Well then, one more round then would show his brother. He waggled his eyebrows like the big brat he was and rolled again.
He watched it bounce in the dust, kicking up little puffs as it rolled and tumbled before settling before the janarim. Xarthin leaned over as if to eat the thing and Reill had nasty flashes of searching for the dice later.
He rushed over and pushed at the huge head before it could ruin the game before it started. "You great pest,"he grunted. Xarthins head was heavy and Reill did not doubt he could be thrown quite nonchalantly into the air with minimal effort on the beasts part. He had the oddest personality.

Keelthy beningly watched the little girl match wills with the janarim. She was cute, he could admit that, a little snarky but cute. Xarthin seemed to like her company well enough. Of course there hadn't been a male to wander into camp yet, Keel wondered if a male would get the same nonchalant, partly interested welcome that she had gotten. It was interesting. Keelthy crossed his eyes comically at his brother's chuckle and the short ...and if he might add awkward little dance jig. His brother had obviously scored another six..that die was fixed....maybe they would have been better off if Xarthin had swallowed it. He snarled at his brother in a playful way and wrestled the die from him before tossing it himself..this time away from the big four legged menace. He sighed as he saw the result and waved a hand at his brother to continue.

”Hey.” Yitzah said, leaning against the Janarim. She'd seen the dice roll, first from one dark male thing to the other, but this time... ”Isn't it my turn?” she asked. She pet the Janarim on the nose. He should get a turn said a stray thought.
But that was silly: he was a beast. Beasts did not get turns.
But she did.
She snatched the dice and rolled it herself with a challenging look to the brothers. Well? What would they do about it?

"Well we were rolling for first place but now we have the rest of the order, I rolled a six so I'm first, you rolled a 4 so you are in second place and Keelthy brings up the rear."
Reillan sat down and span the board, landing on a yellowish powder that he recognized. "Okay I choose Keelthy to ask his question. The person whos turn it is gets to choose the person they want the question from I thought maybe you would like to see a round done."
Reillan twidled his thumbs wondering what Keelthy would possibly ask him. Probably something only a brother could get away with like a love life question or something along those tortuous lines.
On the other side he really wanted to put this curry on the roast. Which meant he would have to answer whatever it was fully. Ugh.

Keelthy wasn't quite focusing on his question at the moment, the girls guardian had not found her yet and they were heading to Oba, neither brother would want to leave her here... so that meant..."Is Yitzah wanting to come to Oba with us?" Oops...Reill couldn't really answer that one, but Keelthy waited patiently while Reill turned to Yi and asked her that. Adding, "We wouldn't feel right leaving you here and you could ride Xarthin the whole way if you wished." They waited with baited breath for her answer, the game itself mostly forgotten. A youngling alkidike would be hard to explain but she was a guest not a slave they would be adhering to the rules, so it shouldn't be a problem..he hoped.

Yitzah wasn't so sure about the question game, but even as she wondered if it was worth a damn, she started to come up with some excellent questions, so she decided to tolerate it.
Oba?! Go to Oba with them?!
Yitzah stared at the dark skinned people, shocked. Leave the jungle? Explore? She had never even thought about that before.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to... But really, why not? She had no family anymore, and Dyakida was a huge b***h (bluh bluh) and all the people she knew who were her age were wimps and didn't understand.
Maybe it will be different in Oba... she thought, biting her lip. But... there were no bug monsters to kill in Oba. She needed to kill them. Kill them dead.
But if she trained in Oba... They wouldn't know what to expect. She would learn all sorts of things that the bug people wouldn't know, and she would be able to kill them even better.
But you have a teacher. she said to herself, And she'll be worried. Well, let her worry. The lady didn't really care about Yitzah anyway. Yitzah was on her own.
And honestly, the deal had been sealed when they had said they would let her ride the Janarim.
”Yeah.” she nodded, ”I want t' go.” They were far more interesting, and it wasn't as if she wouldn't come back. And kill bugs... of course.
”So. I'm second and that means its my turn.” she said, giving the spice wheel a forceful spin, because that seemed to be the thing to do. What exactly it landed on, she had no idea. ”So. Why do you two look the same?” she asked them. It was a valid question.

Reillan nodded. "That is a good question, we look the same because we are twins, not identical but very close wouldn't you say Keel? We can at times pretend to be the other as long as we keep our real personalities from showing, used to drive our aunts mad, it was so much fun." He grinned happily, innocent discord! Those had been wonderful times.
He tested the powder that the wheel had landed on, "I think this will pair well." He nodded happily and spiced the beef, "And that is how you play the game."
The meat roasted on the spit and soon they all ate their fill.

After dinner, they all found sleeping arrangements, with first dibs going to the big janarim which out weighed them all. He wedged his huge self between Yitzah and the brothers, making the boys groan cause there wasn't much room in the shanty to begin with. After a good sleep Keel got up and started packing the things for the trip soon followed by Reillan. When everything was ready they set off, back to Oba finally with the young Alkidike in tow. FIN biggrin
