"Thank you, to be fair I had a head start, but doesn't this feel good?" She asked back, the wind the roots, dodging branches. She weaved around a tree and came back. She giggled and pulled cobwebs out of her hair, it was so much fun to run like this, she did it with Rue too but that was kinda more running down prey then this. She stomped in a puddle and hopped on one leg loosing speed. "Ack! That startled me, so cold, so cold." She hurried to catch up with his longer stride...how was he living in that coat here? It was so hot..of course his butt was cute too but stilll, he must be melting in that. She wondered if he had nice abs, she was pretty sure he did. He was also quieter then her which was probably a good thing, but not without attitude which she found interesting in a male, she probably would have never done well with the gentle healer type. What she needed now was more nights like this, get to know him better. He was almost a blank slate to her, besides his two mothers and his dating history and his good taste with friends.

”Sure does!” he said, impressed by her breath control. He wouldn't have been able to say so much while running, not without getting winded and having to gasp for air like a landed fish.
He took advantage of her little pitfall with the puddle to put on a burst of speed, laughing a little as he playfully ran on ahead. She would probably catch up soon, but that was part of the fun of it. And he gave her a good view of his tight, leather-clad butt... Inadvertently and completely unintentionally of course.
Admittedly, though, he wondered if running had been such a good idea in his coat. He loved his coat, and normally he did fine with it on, even in the horrible, ever-present heat of Jahuar. Plus, it – along with his other leather goods - made for good armor, protecting his skin from the pricks and prickles of Jahuar's flora and fauna. It was a reminder of where he came from, of the lands he had been raised in.
Right now, though, he was steaming inside of it like fish in a broadleaf, and he was wondering if he shouldn't take it off...? It was good to practice in it, but if they ran too long, he didn't want to faint from heatstroke. Maybe they could rest at some point – there was a lake nearish by that was great for cooling off.
If she deigned to rest.
Somehow, Iroia didn't seem like the resting type...

Iroia was started to sweat rather horribly and she was relieved when she heard a chorus of spitorogs ahead, frogs meant water and water would be heavenly right now. She leaped through the brushy barrier to the shore and dove head first into the water..sadly it was a little colder then she had espected and she charged out just about as fast as he had dove in. Her teeth chattered and she giggled. Well she wasn't sweating now was she. Sagely she went back in slowly up to her calves. "I don't recommend the water just yet..it needs a few...er months." She swept her hair off her face then strode over to one of the none itchy giant fuzzy leaves to dry herself off a bit, so handy that they grew near water some of the time. She had discovered this during her long stay in Jauhar...they were great as long as ...as long as ...ACHOOOOOOO!. You kept your face away from the hairs. "Sorry! Sorry." She called out.

Votzhem slowed to a stop and rested, hands on knees, laughing a little as she shivered from the water. ”You're supposed to go in slowly!” he commented, stretching once before walking over and testing the water with his hand.
He removed his boots carefully, and his coat, before dipping his feet in the water.
”Ahh...” he said, wiggling his toes. He was bare-chested beneath his furs, his blue skin flushed dark with exertion and rippling with muscle earned with hard work and not a few fights. It was definitely a relief to cool down after the run.
He rummaged in his pocket and brought out a pemmican bar – fruit and nuts and smoked meat, rolled and cooked into a sort of cracker-bar. It was an excellent pick-me-up, though it had to be salty and dried to last in the jungle, and kept in a waterproof container. He bit into one and chewed at for a few moments, struggling to get it down where it could provide the energy he wanted.
After a few moments, he held out a strip of the stuff to her.
”Want one?”

In hindsight his method would have been much less shocking to the system. Her hair was up on her arms and she felt a little better as the water dripped off of her. Iroia peered at Vosh's broad back, how could he just stick his feet in that near freezing puddle and not be cold? Of course she hadn't been running in a fur coat but still. At his offer she walked over, her feet also in the water and she worked not to flinch...hmm after you stood in it for a while your feet went pleasantly num. "Yes please, they look very good." She would try all things once ...like jumping headfirst into a cold lake. She nibbled the bar he gave her, "Oh that is deliscious! Would you mind telling me how to make them? It doesn't take much to get over the meat and bread that is usually taken into the field, this is delightfully new." It was full of flavour and delightfully salty, which was helpful if you had been under great exertion and had access to water. The perfect and compact way to recuperate. "Did your parents teach you how to make them?"

Votzhem didn't think it was that cold, to be honest, but it was certainly refreshing – just that, refreshing.
”No – I didn't learn it from my sisters, either. It's a Wind-tribe recipe. Not hard to make.” he watched her seem to take energy from the compound meal. He had always found it just the right blend of sugar and fat and meaty protein to perk one up after a long journey, and travel in Sauti and Zena was long and arduous: more so than all of the Tale or the small patches of jungle that hadn't been traversed enough to make paths. ”All you really need to do is make dried meat, salt, and fruit into a chunky paste, mix them together, and there you go. You can use nuts too – you have to make them very pastey-y though.” he gestured to the bars, ”I like to bake mine a little – gives them an extra crunch and helps them hold together. It's better than just dried meat and fruit – really picks you up.” he could see she was appreciating it.
”I don't think my mams would even know it...” he mused quietly, swishing his toes in the water, ”They don't do much travelling themselves.” though, obviously, Lakshmi had travelled a long way and possibly Vennan as well. Since he had been alive, however, he had not known them to take even slight trips beyond the environs directly around the village and the forest and badlands that fed it.
”How about you? Do you travel much?” Votzhem asked. The question was innocuous, but he honestly was trying to get to know this girl – this strange leaf tribe girl who had outright confessed she liked him.

"I don't know if I would like to be stuck in one place for too long, I like to travel too much and there is jut so much to see out there you know, espiecially what with Oba and Matori, maybe a good disguise would work to help avoid trouble if I visited there....or find it depending on how I feel." She tilted her head, thinking, "Well I was born in Talea dn so far I've only been there and Jauhar, our expedition was distracted by the war, I believe we were potentially heading to Zena before that. 'Lash grew up there and I had the urge to travel, but the prospect of a good brawl against a pile of Obans kept us here. I am starting to get a bit antsy but not overly so yet." She patted him on the shoulder. "Where do you want to travel? Or are you rather fond of all this rain?" She giggled.

”I passed through the Tale on the way here... harsh place to live, if you're in the middle of it...” Whether he wanted to travel further was an... interesting... question. He had longed for this place all his life, but did he want to leave it? It hadn't been the most welcoming of places.”I grew up in Sauti... always wanted to come here though. See my mother's people, join them...” and look at how well that turned out. He was grateful that he had come from a lotus, and that they hadn't killed him. They would never entirely love him, in any way: that much he knew. ”Not particularly keen on the rain.” he said, shooting her a grin, ”No, I prefer the snow. And something other than muggy heat.” he sighed, ”I don't see myself leaving anytime soon, though.”
No... he had made his nest, he had made his decision. He was a part of the Alkidike tribe, whether they liked it or not, and, as such, he was bound here by them. ”I might go back to Sauti soon, though. Say hi to my mothers.” he said, thoughtfully. It would be a great and highly excusable way to escape the closeness of the forest and the distance of his tribe. ”So, you've never been to Sauti, have you?”

"No I haven't ever been there, I hear its warmer then Zena for the most part, and I know that sailscales live there, they might be cool to see too. What part of Sauti do your parents live in?" She wondered how his alkidike mother had adjusted to the cold of Sauti, it shouldn't be a problem for his other mama. Iroia had never tested herself against cold before, but she thought if she kept moving she would be okay, and she had never really had a problem with keeping moving. "It might be nice to get out of the rain and damp for a while. I'm not entirely interested in growing gills ya know." She giggled.

”Iory. Its sort of Northern Sauti, not too far off from Zena.” he explained, ”So, still the mountains, but also fairly cold and snowy.” he explained.
He laughed. ”Well, up there, rain's more likely to come down as snow, so you'd need a shovel more than you'd need gills.” He looked at her for a moment, ”Kaa ain't likely to come. She's been once, and she's one of those people who does not appreciate the cold, you know?” He thought about what he was about to say – was it too soon? Nah, Iroia was a friend. She found him attractive and that changed things, but she was still his friend... right?
”You and your strange buddy are welcome to come with. That's his homeland too, ain't it? He's from Zena, right?”

"I am almost positive that he came to Zena and I would be delighted to visit there, it sounds rugged and different and not nearly as sweaty as Jauhar." She giggled. She looked up, it was getting dark, "Speaking of Ruelash I better go check that he hasn't destroyed a village out of boredom. Its a serious condition for us." She smiled but was not at all joking. A bored pack was a dangerous pack even if it was just one pack member. She hugged him quickly before her nerve left her. "Thank you for the pemmican it was lovely. I hope we can meet again soon?"

Votzhem laughed, ”Well, its not sweaty, just cold.” he clarified. He looked at her appraisingly, taking a moment to admire her powerful body and lean features. ”I can imagine!” he said, ”Neither of you are the sort I'd ever want to see bored” He chuckled, ”Well, I hope never to bore you, anyway.” He stood up, offering her a hand to help her up from what had to be a comfortable seat, ”I'll make sure to have something interesting planned for next time, all right?”
And then she hugged him, taking him completely by surprise. Oh.: was all he could say, as he awkwardly hugged her back. "W-well. Until next time."

"I highly doubt you will ever bore me." Iroia grinned. "See you later," she chirped cheerfully, waved and disapeared off into the forest again. Well that was almost as fun as a good brawl! (Fin?)
