Masae looked up at Ryuu. His usual impassive glare set on his face. He loved Ryuu, he really did. Apart from when he treated him like a child, he was merely trying to do what was proper. Flushing slightly in mixed embarrassment and a hint of anger he picked his chopsticks up again.
"I was merely treating you with the correct ammount of respect. Old man." He said smoothly before biting into a piece of sweet potato. The urge to stick his tongue out was overwhelming, yet he managed to supress it. Straightening his back he picked up the tea and took a sip. Eyes still fixed on Ryuu.
"When do you want me to move in?" He asked loosening up a little. "Give the word and I'll be round as fast as my mother's lowly Gehaka can move." He said giving a small laugh at the thought of the stupid creatures running around with all his belongings whilst he and Ryuu sipped tea in the gardens.

Ryuu tilted his head to the side and stared at Masae. He hadn't meant to embarras him, it was just that he expected such formalities from gehaka, and other haka, but not Masae.
"I know you were. It's just so odd coming from you..." His eye twitched once at the jib concerning his age. "You shouldn't be so quick to judge, my little friend, this old man knows quite a few tricks that even you could benefit from." He smiled and reached for his tea. Unlike Masae, his posture was extremely relaxed.
"I can send Yoshi and Mori round later to help out. I know you've got a few ancient pieces, those things weigh a ton. Mori can lift anything. Yoshi will be able to assist with directions." It really wasn't a question, more of a statement. Refusing would be the paramount of rudeness. Ryuu smiled at Masae, a warm, very content smile. "I'll have some tea waiting."

Masae smirked at Ryuu's twitch. He could always get him with his age, barely twenty one and Ryuu already had a complex. No doubt he was having visions of the wrinkles that were still a long way off. "You're going to have to get used to my quirks Ryuu." He said relaxing out of the seiza position as he finished his meal.
Placing his chopsticks down he sat, knees hugged to his chest. "I think I could do without your tricks for the time being." He laughed looking out at the budding trees. "Thank you, I'm sure Yoshi and Mori will do a much better job than my mother's..." He wrinkled his nose in disgust and looked back at Ryu at the mention of tea. "I would expect nothing less." He smirked. "Only allow me one request. That I make the tea." His face brightened, a rare occurance, at the thought of one of his few passions. "I can show you my new bowls. They are quite beautiful."

Ryuu bowed his head towards Masae. "Of course, of course. You are the sensei afterall. It would be an honour to drink your tea. Should I bother setting anything out, or I imagine you'll be bringing your own supplies?" Picking up his tea he sippped softly while watching Masae. It truly was a rarity to see Masae so happy, and not even Ryuu was arrogant enough to spoil his friends happiness. Besides, NOTHING was better than Masae's tea. Nothing.
Hmm...now about these quirks Masae spoke of. Ryuu paused a moment to think, then began to laugh. "I hardly think getting used to your 'quirks' will be difficult... I should mine will be much more difficult to get used to." Masae's nose wrinkling hadn't gone unnoticed either. "...and I know Yoshi irritates you, but despite your opinion of him he is rather useful. He knows everything about the business, the house, this city, society. Everything...and I don't think it's too much to expect that the two of you will get along." He sighed. "I do so hate fighting. Make love, not war." He grinned and chuckled at Masae, then returned to sipping his tea.

Masae nodded again smoothing the silk of his kimono with his finger. "I can have my own brought over ahead of schedule." He stared at the table thinking for a moment. "Actually I have the perfect blend of tea powder to celebrate the occasion."
Masae looked up, shocked at Ryuu's mention of his dislike with regards to Yoshi. Realising he must have made a face he shook his head in protest. "No, you misunderstood. My distaste was for my mother's Gehaka. Although I dislike Yoshi, it's nothing personal to him." He felt this distaste to all gehaka. A sly grin replaced his shock. "Besides as long as Yoshi stays out of my way, I'll stay out of his. I am well aware that my status is below his. I will try my best" He added with a slight nod. Masae was not one for fighting. Tantrums, yes but few even dared to enter an argument with him, especially gehaka. He could be quite vicious when he got going. Blinking, his face brightened again. "Shall we pay up and put the gehaka to work? I can't wait for you to try this tea I have."

At the thought of having 'Masae Tea' Ryuu was suddenly regretting having taken that last sip of this tea...
"I would love to try this new tea of yours...and my apologies for having assumed. But you've not to worry Yoshi will certainly keep his distance unless it's absolutely necessary. That's one of the things I love about him. He doesn't need much attention. Perfectly happy off doing his own thing. Brilliant really." Ryuu grinned, and got to his feet.
"As to this whole 'status' business..while I suppose society demands it, when we're in the house feel free to think of him as more of an equal, and all that that entails (ie. you can try and boss him around, but i put an emphasis on try...etc.) . I only wish that same relationship could extend outside of thouse, sadly it can't." He sighed, heavily. It really was a tiresome ordeal, having to keep track of this whole status situation. Situating himself he waited by the door for Masae, parasol in hand.

Masae stood and crossed to the doorway, taking his own parasol from the large vase by the door he smiled at Ryuu. "So many rediculous rules." He sighed nodding to the restaurant owner and giving a compliment on the food. "I sometimes wonder how we ever manage to have any fun at all." He laughed as one of the present gehaka opened the door for them.
Masae tended to be rather vocal about his disregard for the rules of society. He rarely broke them, but he despised them with a passion. Especially the ones that involved inheritance. "But needs must and all that." He sighed stepping out into the sunshine. "I can't wait to see the look on my mother's face when your boys go to get my things." Sometimes it took so little to amuse him.~~ Moved to the House. ~~
