"And, thus, it seems to be a matter of glass houses, you teasing me for not being promoted a second time." HP: 21/50 [-4 + 4] [+50% for 2 more turns] Charge: 0/3 DMG: 8 lucyal It's your choice, but Ever's charge can feel really nice when it lands. pleasant, instead of hurting.

Whatever attack Ever just did, she hadn't felt anything like that before. "I still stand that me being promoted to intermediate isn't in the ball park of you making it to hunter." Claude replied idly, paying Ever less attention, and more on her weapon. She had tried using her charge attack again, and instead of firing, the flint clicked, sparked...but then nothing happen. Inwardly she sighed. A failed charge. Ah well. Her lidded gaze shifted back to the other, noting that her shield was on the verge of breaking. "Are you content to be an intermediate for while, then?" HP: 4 / 40
DMG: 0

He offered it easily, and maybe it was even true -- though, as he said it, his blade came up hard against the edge of her shield and, finally, shattered what was left. Ever actually looked a bit surprised. By how fast that had gone, perhaps, or perhaps that she hadn't said anything. But he didn't drop her weapon. Instead he drew in a slow, shaky breath, disappointed that he wouldn't get one more stab in. "I don't know why you do. Yield?" HP: 24/50 [+3] [+50% for 1 more turns] Charge: 0/3 DMG: 5 lucyal It's your choice, but Ever's charge can feel really nice when it lands. pleasant, instead of hurting.

Claude was musing, and when her shield shattered, she didn't look surprised, or seemed to hardly care, really. As soon as it did, her pistol was de-summoned automatically, and she straightened herself. "I don't." She finally replied, eyeing him thoughtfully. She was curious. Promotion seemed to offer inciting extras, such has a bigger room, more pay, and more vacation time...but then she thought back to their conversation in the Underwater Observation Pod, and that seemed to answer itself. She snorted, softly, amused by her own thoughts, before she finally focused back on Ever. "Is your friendship avenged now?" She drawled.

"Pretty sure it'd only be avenged were I to drag you outside the shields and beat you unconscious." He said it cheerfully, though, dryly; there was, honestly, no chance in hell Ever'd do that. He paused just another moment before desummoning his weapon, assuming that she did yield. She just didn't give a ********. A good attitude. "Anyway, you're the one who picked this fight, not me."

"Fair enough." Claude replied with a small shrug, and though he had said it cheerfully, she didn't feel like he'd go through with it either. The trainee hooked her thumbs into her pockets, and tilted her head. "Yeah. Needed the experience for promotion." She smirked a bit. "Thanks."

"Any time," was his reply to that, and it seemed like Ever meant it -- even if she did get that promotion. He saluted her absently, turning it at the last minute to an easy flip of the bird, and retreated.
