Before she could really think, Araie's instinctively defensive nature reared its head. Her parents had always taught her from the time she was a young child to always be careful when it came to the other races.
"Be careful, Araie. You never know what a non Ice Earthling is thinking. Always look out for yourself when around the other ones. Araie had done her best to distance herself from that kind of thinking over the years, but sometimes it was hard to get rid of years of being repeatedly told the same thing over and over again. But she wasn't going to be as close minded as her parents. She liked people and wanted to meet everybody she could. She wasn't going to let her parents teaching affect her like that.
"I would love to teach you about my people. I may not be the best teacher there ever was, but I promise I will do my best. I would also love to know more about the Shifters and the group you're traveling with, if you didn't mind," Araie smiled. No, she wasn't going to become her parents. As much as she loved them, she didn't want to be them. She liked Eziya and she trusted her. After all, the girl had just saved her life. Eziya was her friend and that was that.
