Alright, so she definitely didn't know who he was and wasn't just not starstruck. "Well, there's quite a few pae on the island that aren't precisely too happy with me at the moment. Up here I'm relatively safe, for the moment." He considered flat out telling her of what he did, but he rather enjoyed a normal conversation. No praise nor judgments, no questions asked about why he did what he did. All around pleasant, regular conversation with a girl who knew what photosynthesis was.
"I do rather enjoy that. And the library is so close, I am reading more books than I have in years. I could do without the fully stocked refrigerator of HQ, but I do miss the electricity...and the warm water." He glanced up at her movement of fixing her hair. She was a pretty angel. Why did he have such an affinity towards angels? "To be honest I haven't done too much exploring of the City. Mainly been keeping to my room, the library, or the market here." So 'meeting pae' wasn't a huge thing for him besides the signing of autographs and chatting to excited fan pae for details about 'how he did it'.

His answer was accepted as it was given. What he could have done to upset pae down there was a puzzle. Did he help the hero blow up the tree? It was rude to pry so that she kept to her own wanderings. One thing that she did ask came from concern for the family she had below, " Do you know if it is hostile down there for all Angels and Demons? My father is down there somewhere." She hadn't seen her mother and brothers in the Catacombs, they could be down there too.
For a few moments she turned her head to the gates, frowning, worry took residence in her golden eyes. Only allowing herself those moments, she turned back to Raken a smile back on her face as she continued the conversation. "Have you been to the feast hall? They serve food twice a day, I like to help." There wasn't much she could do but they tolerated her all the same.
Going on, she excitedly took him on a verbal tour of her favorite places, "The Chapel is wonderful, it feels like a private meeting with the Guardians in there." Next to it was for the Squires. They had the same golden eyes as she, some thought she was a part of their order. That was a place she avoided, wasn't a place for her. Serving the Guardians would be amazing, it was a goal she aimed,
"The Bath House here is amazing, just like the Falassian Healing House!" That was another place she enjoyed helping out even through she was no healer. The Catacombs frightened her, dark and scary to no end. The Hall of Lost Souls was there. It was proof of the Guardian's mercy and power. Thats where she woke up. It was a place that deserved more honor. When she had someone to go with, making it a happier place was always a happy duty.

The sad truth was, he didn't know. He couldn't risk much contact with his family. What if somepae intercepted his letter and put two and two together? He let his oldest siblings know he was safe; Tristen and Dameon, but beyond that communication was near nonexistent. But the look of worry on her face... "I have family all over the isle, so I'm certain I would have heard if something was amiss down there. Your father is probably fine."
At the mention of food twice a day, he paused thoughtfully. Perhaps that would be better than his step up from begging. "I didn't know they started twice a day. I went there previously and they only served food on Sundays." The bathhouse he was quite familiar with. Hot water was one of the things he missed about HQ. "I enjoy how close to the Guardians I feel here in the City. Sometimes in the forest, you can forget yourself. But here the feeling is alive and well."EvilSilverDragon Thanks for the ref! Here's the line I found in it for the food; There is a Feast every Sunday in the Great Hall, otherwise Pae'il have to fend for themselves to eat the rest of the week. The Holy Knights eat in the Great Hall every night, so can sometimes invite others to join them, but they use this time to talk shop."

His reassurance was accepted bolstered by the faith she had in her own father. She never grew out of her daddy being her hero, he was touchable. Probably down there somewhere worried about her. Nodding she endorsed the idea, "My Daddy is one of the strongest pae ever, I just haven't been able to find him when I tried to look." Every other time he had managed to find her, that he hadn't troubled her just a little. Did he forget about her?
The idea had her on the verge of wanting to cry when he mentioned not knowing about the food. Blinking, she turned her gaze towards the feast hall and innocently said, "They always had food for me." Walking in no pae seemed to think twice about making sure she ate. They were really nice to her every-time. She offered an idea, "Maybe you came too early or late? We can go together next time, I'll introduce you!" Surely they would feed him too, it had to be the timing being off.
Looking up to the sky, she remarked, keeping her eyes upward, "The Guardians feel more active, like with the notes about." Sending pae on missions, sending the Hero out for something to do with attacking a tree, there had to be a reason. Though why blow up a tree? That part still didn't make sense but the Guardians were beyond her and that was easier to accept.Tartara Seabreeze Asked Sei she replayed "I'd say the newer information is probably the correct information, so that would be the Newbie Guide"

It was a kindness for him to reassure the female, something he wouldn't normally do for a stranger. Perhaps solitude had softened him, or maybe he would want somepae to do the same for his own daughter. Dyas was no doubt worried for him. He wished he could send her word...
At her suggestion, the demon found himself smiling lightly. Was she suggesting meeting up again?
Perhaps if he would be staying in the City for a while, he lay some roots. Menolly seemed to know about the area, so for the moment she was a good candidate to befriend. After all, already she was proposing a way to receive free food. "That is kind of you to offer. I'll have to take you up on it." He stopped by his destination, another vendor with vegetables. In similar fashion to the rabbits, Raken smiled kindly to him. "Would you have anything to spare today?"She shook her head. "Nothing today. The winter has halved my stock. Apologies Raken, but I can't afford anything to you."He quickly shook his head. "No, no it is quite alright. Thank you." Looks like his rabbit wouldn't have a side, but he didn't mind. He was more worried for the vendors dwindling stock. The male looked back at Menolly. His shopping trip was finished, but now he was set on making that friendship. "Do you have anything planned today? I don't want to keep you from any duties you have."

Menolly gave a little vocal cheer when he agreed to eat with her, the company would be awesome, "Great!" With a little skip step added, the angel was perfectly content. Upon reaching another vender, she watched curiously as he did something else odd. The interaction between Raken and the vender still seemed out of place. Why, she couldn't put her finger on it.
Though it did bring up the other downside to living on the isle, there really wasn't anything in the way of green space. Growing one's on food just didn't seem possible up here. The Guardian's provided so it wasn't completely necessary but it'd be nice to grow something of her own.
Plans? Shaking her head she said, "I don't, I just go where my feet take me most days. Anywhere I can help." A job would be nice, somewhere she was needed but such a place hadn't been found yet.Tartara Seabreeze got a bad case of the lazies.

The excitement she exuded was surprisingly welcomed to the male, the light smile returning to his face. Too much free time was a dangerous thing, he knew it well. It caused him to become lazy, as much as he detested to admit it. There wasn't huge grounds for him to train, he could not hunt nor grow his own food. If living in the City made him soft, so help him...
But back to the matter of Menolly. He lifted his rabbits up slightly. "Well then, would you like to make dinner with me?"
He, a notoriously solitary pae, was openly inviting another to not only enjoy his company but to join him into his dwelling. City life was making him soft.

Golden eyes looked at the rabbits then to Raken. With not a moment's hesitation she chirped, "Sure, I'd love to help!" Moving her hands behind her back, she held her left wrist with her right hand in a comfortable posture. Comforted by her own actions, she stood still enough to watch her new friend.
It would be a lot of fun, helping him out. Plus she'd know where to go to visit!Tartara Seabreeze Stranger danger, whats that?

With a nod, the male turned to start heading back from the direction they came. It would give him the opportunity to get away from the prying eyes of the public. Being stared at was...well rather uncomfortable. But at least they weren't partying in the streets like they did when he first arrived to the City.
"Do you know how to hunt and cook for yourself?" If not, she certainly was in for a treat to learn.

Menolly didn't notice anything unusual, just smiled and waved when she did catch someone's eye. Or was in the way of someone looking at Raken. It was a lovely day with not a thing wrong with the world.
Hunt? The idea of harming something didn't suit her very well. "I can cook. I've never tried to hunt anything. There was the HQ then Daddy did the hunting. I know how to grow veggies!" Wolfwood did for the short time she was with him as well. It hurt a little, thinking of him, so she kept his name to herself.

The endless HQ refrigerator. No one would believe him nowadays if he talked about it. It gave him a bit of comfort knowing that memory wasn't false, since he was separated from the only pae he knew from that time. "It's a good skill to acquire. Should you find yourself out in the middle of winter on your own, you won't starve." Knowing berries, fruits and vegetables to snack on was well and good, but wouldn't do any good in winter when everything became dormant. He turned the corner. "I'd be willing to show you...alas there's no appropriate grounds to do so in the City." And he didn't know exactly how long he'd be stuck up there.

It really never occurred to her that she'd be off on her own. There seemed to always be someone to take care of her. The city also had the meals offered. Trying not to show that the idea made her uncomfortable, she commented, "That is something I miss, there aren't animals up here like there are down there." He didn't seem to like it too much here, like he was trapped. Innocently she asked, "Do you know how long you will stay here?"
She didn't know the answer to that one herself. There was no reason to stay, besides the food. There was no reason to go, besides her father.

Meanwhile Raken loved the hunt. Missed it. Relying others for food was borderline degrading. As if saying he wasn't skilled, fast or strong enough to fend for himself.
If he didn't tell her outright who he was, it didn't look like she rightfully was going to know. Part of him enjoyed the fact of talking to a pae who didn't know, but perhaps it was wrong to knowingly withhold the information from her. However he certainly wasn't going to spout off about himself. Everyone else already did that for him. "No...I really don't. Could be weeks. Could be months. Who knows, possibly years." He turned his head up to look a the clear blue skies. At least he was never dishonest, and wasn't particularly secretive. Just wasn't outright saying 'Im the guy who blew up the Tree that everyone has been going on about'. "It's a sacrifice I pay for in the name of the Guardians." When he thought about it like that, it made him a little less bitter about being stranded in the City. Everything he did now, was in their service. He was a hero here.

At first it seemed sad, he was stranded here when it didn't suite him. However, the way he put it made a lot of sense, "No greater sacrifice then in the name of the Guardians." Even without knowing why he was stuck here, he seemed so heroic in her eyes. That and in an world steadily distancing itself from the Guardians, piousness was extremely attractive.
Hunting wasn't her thing, but her Daddy could get things so she offered, "If there is anything you need down there I could go for you?" It was dangerous for him but she had never felt threatened. Her Daddy then Wolfwood had kept her safe and that feeling still exist

At least she understood. Some of his relatives would...well, probably did hate him now.
What would Dameon think of him? Would Tristen give him a chance to explain?
Hopefully they would understand and embrace him, much like the town did. He shook his head at her question as they rounded the corner. "I couldn't trouble you. I'm content enough with your company." He could have far worse in the way of companionship. A pretty blond angel with an open mind was surprisingly hard to find.
He walked up his stairs and opened his door.
It was a modest house, but far more than he ever wanted. A very comfortable looking living room with a fireplace, soft plush chairs, even a rug neatly under a coffee table. The kitchen off to the right held pots, pans, an oven and more cooking utensils then he knew what to do with. Down the hall was his single bedroom, but that was out of sight.Evilsilverdragon would you like to see Rakens bedroom? *eyebrow waggle, shot*
