"Still one should know how to defend themselves so fighting isn't a necessity. Maybe you should find someone else to teach you that is not family and won't be as hard on you?" it was an idea really. She was sure there was someone he could learn from in this town!

Ylerian was well aware not everyone was cut out for this sort of training, or for fighting. That was why her mind was traveling along the road to self defense. Protecting yourself was sometimes more important than fighting. She'd seen and heard plenty to do with self defense courses.

Of course these were generally aimed at women, or adults. So of course this kid was going to have troubles, but the right dojo...it could make all the difference.

Him saying where she'd learned might be good for him made her frown slightly, a slight shake of her head given after a moments thought. "No, it will not do you good to go there. I am no longer welcome there, and to have them know you're in any way associated with me wouldn't go over well for you. No, you should definitely not go there. No matter how good they are, as yes they did teach plenty of defensive. I am sure we can find somewhere here in this city that would do good at training you at defense. Would you like me to help you?"

"Please don't worry. While the reasons I left are unpleasant, I'm not unhappy to be gone either. But I'm sure we can find a similar place to learn. I don't know how long I'll be here, but I'll stay for a short time, and make sure the place we go to will be a good place for you to continue learning." she wasn't going to dump him somewhere and run off to leave him to fend for himself!

She blushed slightly at his words saying he thought he could learn a lot with her. Ylerian was unused to praise really. Even before her mothers infidelity had come to light, it was usually a slight nod of the head to acknowledge a job well done. Hers had not been a demonstrative family. So the words...they warmed her a little.

"Lets see about finding somewhere we can learn then." and somewhere safe she could store her things, and stay. She would find somewhere she was sure. "Lets do a little exploring and see if we can find a decent dojo."
