"You know, I've been wondering... Have you ever eaten at a Sonic's before, Monster?" A wild Falinn has appeared! Where she appeared from is a mystery to even the writer... But she is now walking along beside the mermaid and werehog, looking around curiously.

"Oh...s-so l-like a t-treasure hunt..?" River tilted her head as she took the newspaper clipping and looked it over with curiosity. She wasn't sure she understood, entirely, but she did want to help. ...As long as nothing scary happened, of course. Though even if it did, she'd try her very best to be brave.
As her blue furred friend made an entrance for them, she moved to follow after, unsure of what exactly he meant by getting back in time for Inventory Hoarders, but not asking, either.
Hearing a voice suddenly beside them, her eyes widened and she jumped, letting out a soft squeak. Seeing it was a familiar face, however, and one that had saved her life in the past at that, she calmed down. "U-um...h-h-hello..."
What was a 'sonic', and when exactly had Falinn appeared? She didn't know the answer to either, but knew better than to ask by now.

The green man was there alright, hiding. He was starting to hear voices all over, and peeking out from his cuddly pile, he had seen people moving about. Why were they here, though? Were they coming to steal his pop-corn kernels? They were, weren't they? The nerve of people! Those kernels were rightfully his, upon the laws of finding them first. It was just the other night that someone had been sneaking around the place, too. He probably went ahead and told all his friends about the free snacks... Orrin did not like this one bit. It was only a matter of time before someone tried snatching his fluffy new friends, too. He would run away, but he couldn't with all these people about. All he could really do was to remain hidden and hope not to be seen...

"Yeah, a treasure hunt!" Once inside the abandoned park he fiddled around his knapsack until he found a magnifying glass, "Like fearless explorers-" And at the sound of Falinn's voice the "fearless" explorer yelped and fumbled with the magnifying glass, quickly recovering and turning around to face the thief. "Falinn! What are you talking about?" not even bothering with his usual 'long time no see' greeting, "...Did you portal all the way over here just to ask me that?"

She grins and waves at River, "Hey merpuppy~!" Upon hearing Monsters comment and question, her facial expression goes decidedly neutral. There's a brief silence as she just stares at the werehog before responding, "I'll take that as a no then. It's a fast food place where they have special parking places that are covered and hooked up with a speaker so you can order your food from your car. They'll then bring it out to you, usually on roller skates." She turns her attention back to their surroundings, humming along quietly to whatever song is playing through her headphones.
Her completely ignoring Monsters question means that it was a very silly question to ask. I mean seriously... Who wouldn't portal all the way to this forgotten place just to ask Sonic the Hedgehog if he had ever eaten at a Sonic's before? "Why are you guys walking around such a dump like this, anyway?"

River blinked, listening as Falinn explained what a Sonic was. Not that her explanation made any sense to the confused mermaid. Fast food? Was that a fish that could swim really fast? Parking space? Huh? Not that she questioned any of it. Rather, she simply followed them along into the park.
At Falinn's question, however, she smiled brightly. At least that was a question she could answer. "W-we're on a t-t-treasure hunt! F-for...um...th-this thing!" She held the newspaper clipping out to Falinn and pointed to the article in question.

That Green Gentleman Anon "Orrin, Orrin where are you?" Minty called louder, "I will eat this pie myself if I have to."
Did that pile of stuffed animals just move? Minty sniffed the air.
"Orrin, I know you're in there. What are you doing?"

Busted! And he who used to be so good at hiding... Or maybe it was just so that no one was ever looking for him before? The whole concept of friendship was starting to look quite troublesome... "I-I-I'm... I-I'm n-not hiding...!", he called out. Not that it was likely to be fooling anyone, seeing as he sunk in deeper into the pile as he said it. But then again, logic had never been one of his strong sides.

That Green Gentleman Anon "Not hiding? That's too bad. It looks like a really good hiding spot." Minty carefully pulled a plastic food container out of her bag, "If you're not hiding, are you looking for something that's been hidden? There seem to be a number of other treasure hunter's here tonight..."
The fairground was filling with flashlights and voices. It was almost like summer season had come early.

"T-t... T-treasure hun-t-ters...?" Orrin carefully peeked out between some stuffed toys. "A-are you... Are you s-sure th-th-they're not here f-f-for m-my p-pop-corn...?" He for one didn't sound too convinced. Why would they be looking for treasure here, of all places? Did they not know of the perfectly fine dumpsters down the block?

That Green Gentleman Anon "There was an article in the paper about something or another being stolen from a museum not far from here." She squatted down near Orrin, "Lotta folk think it might be hidden here. Hopefully they're all the benign 'Return for a Reward' type and not the dangerous 'Use for Nefarious Purposes' type or getting home might be more exciting than I originally planned."

A fast food place with cars and roller skates? It sounded interesting, at least. Of course the deciding factor on if he likes a restaurant or not hinges on if they serve chili dogs, he'll have to look into this when they're not out in a spooky abandoned fair at night. He watched River show Falinn the news clipping and nodded, "Someone stole it last night and we're gonna bring it back!" A thought then occurred to the werehog and he placed a hand to his chin and smirked at Falinn. "Say, you're a thief too, where do you think someone would stash a magic artifact of magic magicness?" It takes to thief to know a thief, right?

She takes the paper clipping and reads it, head tilting from side to side. "Huh... Hope you're not lookin' for this thing for free, kiddos." She gives their surroundings another look, "Yeah, I'm a thief. But I'm a thief with portals so I can stash my stuff in my base." She starts turning in circles, observing the area with a critical eye. "If the thief has a brain, they would either hide it in a hard to reach area, or somewhere no one would think to look for somethin' like that. But that's only if they're smart. Could be anywhere if our thief is an idiot." She shrugs and changes the song playing on her music player. (We all have matching headphones)

The green man tilted his head, looking rather confused. "M-m-museums have... T-tre-treasures...? I-I-I th-thought they o-only had... O-o-old s-stuff..." He scratched his head, not quite able to do the math. "A-are you... L-l-l-looking t-too...?"

Stolen astrolabes? Detective work? Possibly haunted fairgrounds? Why didn't anyone tell her about this before! Honestly, if she didn't read the newspaper religiously, Ravena would never have known about the theft of such a powerful artifact. As the Starlight Princess, she deemed it her sole duty to find and return the object back to it's proper place, and failing that, at least keep it out of the hands of evildoers.
Which is pretty much how she ended up here in the middle of the night. None of this bothered her, she was a nocturnal sort of person, anyway. The tiny strawberry-blonde had also made sure to dress for a night of adventuring, even going so far as to wear armored gauntlets and a pair of trousers. She was no stranger to dressing like this, being a sky-pirate's daughter, and it never hurt to be prepared.
Raiden, her guardian star and dearest friend, floated along beside her. Wherever his princess went, he followed, no questions asked. He felt uneasy when he couldn't keep an eye on the young woman. It was in his nature to be fussy, but he wasn't likely to let her do anything on her own anyway. He wasn't too worried, though. If anyone could find the celestial artifact, it was his princess. He would assist any way he could, of course. No such thing as being too cautious in this endeavor.
Stuffing the newspaper clipping she'd brought with her into a pants pocket, the tiny princess stopped before the chain link fence, scanning the surrounding area. She'd been to fairs like this a few times before in her life, though not often enough to be entirely familiar with them. When you grew up poor with a foster family, there wasn't really much opportunity to go out and do fun things like this.
"Looks like I'm not the only one out here on this treasure hunt.. Might make things more difficult." Ravena murmured, noting the multiple holes in the chain link fence where others must have entered earlier. Things could go either way, really. Regardless, she was prepared for just about any eventuality. She could have chosen to scale the fence by hand and drop back onto the other side, but why make things harder for herself? Simply parting the fence at one of the holes, she was able to pass through quite easily.
The princess had no map, but that was alright. Raiden would be her eyes here. With a flick of her finger, she sent her star off to survey the fairgrounds. Their bond was strong, and at times like this, there was no need for words. He knew what she would want him to do, and he obeyed immediately. He was back a few moments later, appearing at his princess' side via a poof of stardust. He flickered a few times near her ear, giving a brief summary of everything he'd seen and heard.
"So, a bunch of our friends, and a few unfamiliar folk have decided to join the hunt as well.. This could be interesting. Keep an eye on things as usual, Rai." All of this was said in Stellar, the stars' own language, which she is pretty fluent in. It's not something one can just learn on their own, either. She went through years of intense study to get to this point, and she's pretty confident in her speech.
As for now, Rae would start her search at the top right hand corner of the park, and began walking off towards that area with a smile. First, she would scour the perimeter, and if that yielded no results, then it was on to searching the interior of the park. You don't start putting together a puzzle until you finish the outside frame, after all..
