"So?" Was Abbi's quip to hardly knowing Claude. She was kind of a hard-a** about Abbi looking like a kid, but she seemed to be coming from a place of fun. And the teen was officially not allowed to judge people based on how grumpy they first appeared when she counted Leslie as her best friend. Or Jack too, for that matter. Misunderstanding her, Abbi rose a quick hand to her face in concern. "Oh no! Was I being rude? I'm sorry!"Only the apology didn't come fully formed, half cut off by the initial gun shot and half by the girl hunkering down to protect her face and squeal at being hit. When the loud sound subsided she stood, shaking out what she could. That had hurt! But that had reminded her of the battle at hand and without a word the girl swung her blade back into both hands and bolted forward. One fierce attack deserved another and Abbi swung the blade into the older woman's side. "But seriously... Nobody's be mean to you, right?"HP: 16/50 DMG: 12 Charge: 3/3 Lucyal oh man she finally hit jeez

Oh...she was... one of those. Hm. Soft hearted. Definitely didn't belong somewhere like here. Claude didn't reply to her question of being rude, because she wasn't. Claude didn't answer stupid questions...or much questions at all really. Abbi, surprisingly, countered that attack with a powerful one, indeed showing she was a higher ranking hunter than the Sun trainee. Claude was pushed back, but managed to stay up as she raised her pistol and fired a shot back. She barely clipped the girl if anything. "Don't worry about me." She deadpanned at her. In such close proximity to the woman, Abbi was surprised to find that Claude still mostly missed her shot. Maybe it was because she was unused to her weapon just yet, or because the teen's rush surprised her but Abbi could not help but grin and run away. At this point Viveca had begun to glow, the majority of her light focused on the rosebud strung up in the crook of her pole-arm. Still grinning the girl lifted her hand and touched the gem, which rained a glowing glitter down on her a second later. Where she had begun to wear thin before, Abbi felt all better and rounded back onto her heels before she sprang forward, her scythe stuck out in challenge. "She says "don't worry", but what she really means is "please worry about me a bunch"." She lilted with a shrug, tilting her head to one side. "There are some mean people on the Island, just like everywhere else... But ya can't let them get you down! That's no bueno." Had Claude asked for advice? Oh well! Claude tensed as Abbi's weapon glowed brighter, indicating a charge of some sort. Her first impression was that it'd be an offensive attack...but it wasn't. Her eyes narrowed briefly as Abbi healed herself. Ah well. The trainee circled around the girl to keep moving, and fired a shot at her, a brow quirking. "No." She dead panned at her. "I mean what I say." This little girl was something else. Putting words in her mouth and making assumptions. HP: 16 / 40 DMG: 5 Charge: 2 / 3 ; 1 / 2 spent

The bullet hit and Abbi yelped, but it turned into a laugh a second later. "Oh, trust me, I'm well aware of your meanings!" She zig-zagged forward and struck the pole-arm at Claude, darting back a second later to begin running a wide circle around the woman. "Miss Older Than Thou." The teen gave her a devilish grin and twirled her scythe for show and something to do. "But I guess... What I mean is... Like if you just... Well, I mean..." The teen stopped and huffed, taking a second to clear her mind. "Not everyone is mean! Lots of people are nice, so... Being guarded is good, but its ok to let it down sometimes!" Alright, that was her point! HP: 25/50 DMG: 3 Charge: 1/3, 1/2 Spent (The Chill Y2)

"Mn." That came off as a something of a skeptical sound. Claude's eyes followed the zipping trainee, and she couldn't avoid the strike the girl landed. The trainee continued to move around her in an arc, firing off a shot back at him, and noting that her weapon was charged again. "You like to make a lot of assumptions." The next shot hurt more than it ought, and when Abbi looked up the gun had begun to glow again. Great! She was not doing well, but against fellow Hunters the teen always seemed to go easy and forget her place. Even as Viveca nudged and grumbled and hissed for stronger action, the girl was content with what she was doing. Carefully she edged forward and tapped the end of the pole-arm to Claude's arm, as though that might keep her from wanting to attack. "Only when people give me a lot of material to work with." She shrugged and shifted back, waiting for the attack. HP: 19/50 DMG: 1 Charge: 2/3, 1/2 Spent (The Chill Y2) Lucyal Dear Abbi, Please stop being a little punk about hitting Claude. Claude quirked a brow at her, because she hadn't been giving Abbi a lot of material to work with. She was making assumptions on the limited material she had to work with. Oh well. She braced her pistol with both hands and unleashed her last charge on the girl, showering her with bullets once more. Once it was finished, Claude switched her pistol to the hand she hadn't been using prior, and took to moving again. "What brought you to Deus, exactly?" She couldn't help but ask...because this girl was quite the spunky character, and still very out of place here. HP: 12 / 40 DMG: T2 Swift Strikes - 10 Charge: 0 / 3 ; 2 / 2 spent

Again the girl turned her back to Claude, scrunching up her whole body in hopes it would lessen the blow. Again, Abbi was sad to learn it did not. When the barrage stopped she let out a long whine, straightening up and pulling her scythe back into a more serious position. Maybe if she got another hit in she could show off with a fancy attack too! Shaking herself all over once like a dog, Abbi sprang forward and sliced at Claude at the same time she ran past her. "I'll answer that question, only if you answer the same one for yourself." She chirped it, but looked more serious than normal. Not many people wanted to know that particular story and she wasn't going to waste an opportunity. HP: 9/50 DMG: 8 Charge: 3/3, 1/2 Spent (The Chill Y2)

Abbi's hits were up and down...and Claude couldn't comment, because her own hits were as well. She staggered at that blow the girl delivered, and as she righted herself she immediately fired a shot in return. Abbi's offer was met with a thoughtful silence. Claude pondered it over for a few moments before she decided it was fair. "Alright." She agreed. "After you." HP: 4 / 40 DMG: 3 Charge: 0 / 3 ; 2 / 2 spent

Another kick of heel against pole-arm sent the scythe into a quick spin where it ended upright, the teen using it to lean against as she settled in for a story. Sure, the blade had begun to glow ominously and Viveca was starting to whisper a chant for more, more, more, but Abbi had a mission! And that was to enact the Super Special Backstory Mode! "Beauty before age, in this case." A cheeky, all too pleased with herself grin split her mouth, but Abbi was all exposition a moment later. "A recruiter brought me to Deus, but the super special meaning behind it all is... I didn't have anywhere else to go." Quick to explain herself least Claude think her's was some sad sob story, Abbi hurried on with only a perfunctory hand wave. "I'd always seen shadows and stuff, like most everyone here. There were lots of haunted houses in my home town, it was a real drag during Halloween season, lemme just tell ya. But no one believed me and I stopped trying to tell anyone after a while... But a few months before I graduated high school, a year early, just B-T-W. Got a smarty pants on your hands." That self satisfied grin was back, lopsided and silly. "They offered me a hand in saving the world. I hadn't applied to a single college, I never knew what I wanted to do, so I took the offer. My dad and I don't have... Didn't have a good relationship. He was a real butt after... Um, since I was a kid... Well, my step-mom was super nice but she was the only attachment I had. So I left. Came here and became a Battle Nurse In Training." Certainly nothing exciting, but Abbi was writing her own story and she looked thoroughly cheerful to continue pursuing it. HP: 6/50 DMG: -- Charge: -/3, 2/2 Spent (The Chill Y2, The Bite Y3)

"You're lucky to be born beautiful..." Claude commented. "Unlike me, who was born to be a big liar." A bit of a smirk pulled at her lips. Abbi was definitely something else. She seemed way too lax, and while this wasn't a serious battle by any means...she definitely took it to a whole other level. Abbi may have relaxed and settled for story time, but Claude did not. Her pistol was still poised to attack, and as Abbi went on, the trainee did still. Her pistol was still raised though. Not incredibly dramatic, but not every story needed to be, this she knew certainly. It was still interesting none the less. She wondered what exactly made Deus the more appealing option than to give the outside world an earnest try. No matter the reasoning, Abbi still stuck out here like a sore thumb, she still felt like she didn't belong. Too young, too earnest, too sweet, and too kind, and Claude found herself hoping, that those qualities were never drained out of her by this place, because it'd be a real shame. Even with the bratty attitude. "I see." Claude then shot her, and continued to keep moving. A deal was a deal though. "I came here to look for my brother. He disappeared a few years ago and I wasn't content to continue without knowing where he went." Simple and straight to the point in comparison. HP: 4 / 40 DMG: 5 Charge: 0 / 3 ; 2 / 2 spent

Not sure what to make of that comment, mostly because Abbi did not consider herself beautiful at all, but was merely making a joke, and was doubly confused by Claude's admission of being a liar. It only served to make her further doubt what the woman had to say and for a moment the teen looked genuinely upset. Sure, she wasn't a 10, but no need to rub it in. The next shot wiped the look off her face, the hit shrugged off a second later and the girl was poised to attack, but paused due to Claude's story. It was much shorter than Abbi's own, by quite a lot, but still interesting. In fact, it raised many more questions than the teen's had and so she rushed forward to question Claude on it. "Have you found him? Does anyone have any information on him? I'm guessing you guys were close?" Without waiting for an answer she swung her blade and struck the woman. That did it. With that last strike, Claude's shield dissipated, and she leapt away from the girl, steadying herself. Her pistol was de-summoned, and Claude brushed off her coat before she addressed Abbi again. "He's here." Was all she said. Meaning she did find him, and it should have been obvious they were close...because she threw away everything to come here after him.
