She actually hit her? Padma was so angry she didn't even pause, but in the back of her mind she realized how easy it would have been for her wrestling-prone sister to topple her over and knock the heck out of her - but somehow, Padma had her on the ground instead!
Yanking Ujana's hair, Padma snarled at the shouts - then wrinkled her face and pinched her eyes shut against spittle. Recoiling, it left her open to the kick, which knocked her slightly off her sister, the air shoved from her lungs painfully. In retaliation, Padma rolled to the side and used her hand to knock a palm-full of sand at her sister's face.
Whether it actually landed or not, Padma scrambled away, clutching her sore stomach, and whiping her face with the back of her arm. "Ugh!! You're so gross! I wish mom and dad never had you! You're so embarassing, Uja!"

Ujana grinned and wiggled to the side, only to inhale a palm-full of sand as she moved to stand. She flopped back down to the ground and dissolved into a coughing fit, her gaze falling shamefully to Padma. Augh! What a dirty little trick! She'd need to remember how much sand hurt in the future, but for now, she could barely breathe!
"I-WISH..." She gagged, hacking and spitting as much of the sand as she could out of her mouth before she could breath any more of it in. "I wish mom and dad had-DUMPED YOU IN GARBAGE! You're so ugly and fat and stupid! I don't want to look at you!"
She turned her eyes away and continued to cough before her arms rose to cover her face. She didn't want Padma to see that her eyes were tearing up from all her coughing, or she might think she was weak or something.

Now, you'd think that after serving all these insults, Padma would have no problem taking it- that it would slide off her like water. But instead, like an arrow, her sister's words shot into her and left her staggered, staring at her. Thankfully, Ujana was too busy coughing at the sand (her coughs made Padma feel a lurch of worry, despite herself) to notice Padma's concerned looks.
Although, following the 'I don't want to look at you' Padma read Ujana's raised arms more as her LITERALLY trying not to look. Crawling forward in the sand, Padma sat next to Ujana and reached to tug at her arm, frowning fiercely. "Come on, Ujana, I didn't mean it. Don't be a baby! " She thought her sister was being obstinate, and had no idea that her sister's eyes were watering - or that, since Ujana was hiding her tears, her words might be construed as calling Ujana a baby for allegedly crying.

Ujana's arm flinged itself backwards as Padma came closer. She wasn't a baby! How dare she say that! She was big, strong, and coughing her lungs out! She inched away from Padma's hand and turned her nose in the air. There was no way, no how, that she was going to show her face! Not until her eyes stopped watering!
"UGGGH! I'm not being a baby!" She snarled, wheezing. "There's sand in my eyes and my mouth and IT HURTS!"

Padma leaned back as her sister scrambled away, dropping her hand to draw in the sand, feeling guilty but doggedly pretending she didn't. "If you weren't such a butt I'd..." She started, opening her mouth to continue, but the fight had drained out of her, as it always did. Finally she stood up, reaching to tug Ujana's hand until she stood.
"Come on, lets go get some water for your baby face."

Ujana sniffled and wiped at her eyes. Darn these stupid tears, she really did look like a big blubbering baby!
"I SAID I'M NOT A BABY." She grumbled as she took her sister's hand. "... But, okay."
