The more the General spoke, the angrier Palatine became.
“You're a God damned liar,” she said. “You know exactly where she is.”
She paused a moment, taking a few steps back toward the direction of the other arriving figures when he threw a dagger toward Oberon and another young Senshi, but it missed them by inches and landed on the ground instead. Struck by sudden inspiration, Palatine darted passed the General to pick the dagger up off the ground, wielding it in front of her like she meant to attack again if provoked.
The suddenly appearance of several youma was only slightly concerning. She'd faced enough of them to know she could handle them well enough.
“Listen up, you God damned son of a b***h. If you think a few youma are going to save you, you've got another thing coming. You've got three seconds to tell us where you're keeping the prisoners. If you don't answer, you can consider yourself a dead man.”

"Wait, there's a dead civilian?!" Glitnir had missed that part of the story. "Well, uh, go ahead, then?" he said back to the senshi (Metis) who had addressed him. Actually, there was an opportunity here, and so he raised his voice again. "Wait, guys! Don't kill him before he can tell us what we want to know!" He took a step closer, like he was going to join the fight, then stopped because he didn't want to get caught in the crossfire. "Yeah, you hear that? We're gonna get something out of you, big guy!"
Megrez didn't know who the Mars Page was, but at least he had good ideas and was wisely staying out of the way of an enemy who could trounce him easily. "The Mars Page has a good point! Grab him!" This time, she called up a Super-level ostrich egg and attempted to bring it down on the General. If it hit, it would pack a punch.
Glitnir was a little bewildered by the "dangerous" Megrez's agreeing with him, but he didn't have long to consider it, as something sharp rammed into his ankle. A flat but sharp-looking youma was trying to ram him and cut him like a living buzzsaw. Clearly, the solution was to dust it, and he started by stomping on it. It caved the youma in a bit but failed to totally dust it.
Mimisbrunnr let go of her magic once she realized he was sufficiently tangled with other people, but she kept her bow drawn and trained on him.
Youma weren't a problem - surely between the lot of them they could handle it? "I don't think my magic works on those!" She said, her tone slightly warning. Aishe had explained how it worked, after she'd taken her bow and gone all Squire. Could youma know things? Maybe the ones that could talk, she supposed. "I can try whacking them with the bow, but I think I do better threatening this jerk over here."
Swears did not come naturally to her.
"So how about it, buddy? You tell us where our people are, and maybe, just maybe, I don't remind you that there are horrors in this universe far beyond your imagining." Wow, that actually sort of felt badass.

He had sensed the Chaos aura and in silence he rejoiced-- in a city full of lunatics, he had accepted that he was no better than the rest of them. When he encouraged others to flee and abandon this hell, he lingered around, though he was absolutely certain that his reasoning for staying was at least more sound than there’s. He lingered in this sesspool for revenge, and once Buddingtonite’s blood soaked his hands, he’d grab Richard and flee before the walls could come crumbling down on itself. Like hell he was going to go down with the ship when it offered him and his family nothing but misfortune and tragedy.
So when he felt a nearby Chaos aura, he pursued… silently hoping that it was him, and for a brief second, he thought that it was. He turned the corner to see the figure and the colors that popped up screamed at him, but a second glance only left him with a sense of despair.
It wasn’t him after all! And worst yet, the body on the floor confirmed that he at least had another similarity with the officer he longed to hunt down. This man was a murderer, and a cold hearted one at that, and before Sarras could decide to jump in or slink away, accepting that he had arrived too late, the wolves came down upon the officer. It was swift, merciless, and Sarras was content to sit back and simply watch, leaning against the nearby wall and crossing his arms over his chest. There wasn’t a single shred of pity or remorse in his heart for this officer, and he might have been content to simply slink away and leave him to his justly deserved fate, but there were familiar faces. He had seem them all recently in the park, with the girl in the mask…
He had found Richard (and thoroughly felt like a fool for ever having worried for the a*****e) and thus his concerns should have been over, but he could not ignore the others’ convictions and their despair. A part of him, a small, scraggly, malnourished part of him did have some concern for the ones that sought to rescue, though of the names listed only Hvergelmir struck his interests, and it wasn’t for any lofty romantic ideals… he wasn’t sure exactly what it was about her that made him care more about her than the rest that were abducted, but he chocked it up to simply having been part of the same sphere of influence.
He remained in the back, offering an eye on the surroundings though hoping to do a better job than last time, and he snickered at Mimisbrunnr’s interrogation methods. Not a mocking one, but a proud one.
"You can always take him to Mistral..." Sarras said with a near sadistic tone, and he felt as though he didn't need to explain himself. Mimisbrunnr knew all too well what he had meant by that, and that was all he needed. "Finally put that trinket to good use... you want to call her up?"
Not that he'd have much of a chance to do so, as the youma posed a more pressing matter. He didn't bother with his cup this time, instead raising his fists and looking ready to sock the nearest one right in the jaw should it dare get close- and it did. WHAM! He had no use for magic, not in this setting.
Falias wasn't sure why he'd decided to power up tonight. It was four nights after the train wreck that had been the ball. He had got out okay, although the two friends he had been with had not been so lucky. Chloe had gotten out okay, he had managed to catch up with her two days ago, but Steve was in hospital having been hurt in the panicked scrambling.
Chloe's face had been tear-stained, but there had been a mixture of anger and worry in her eyes as she had talked about how the terrorists had come and ruined everything in a voice that seethed with anger.
It had made him uncomfortable, even though her anger wasn't directed at him because according to the media he was one of the 'terrorists' too, but he had said nothing. Eventually they had parted and he had promised to go visit Steve with her in a couple of days time.
To be honest he was angry that one of his friends was in hospital too, although there were a few things niggling at him from that night - such as the blue-haired Captain that had attacked him. He remembered him reversing his daggers, deliberately choosing to strike out at him with the heavier but less damaging pommel part rather than the bladed end. In fact it was only at the last...
The auras - the many auras - distracted him from his thoughts. The majority of them were Order auras senshi and knight both but there also the strong chaotic aura of a Negaverse General as well in the same vicinity.
It was curious enough to bear checking out.
It lead him away from his usual haunts and towards the city limits but by the time he'd found the source of the auras it seemed that a lot of the action was already over. Of the assorted senshi and knights he recognised three and off those only one by name - Sarras. The pink clad Squire he recognised from his yanked trip to Avalon and the Mercury Squire she'd... She'd been a Page at the time but she'd been there on Mistral.
He arrived in time to hear the tail end of Sarras' comment, green eyes glancing towards the Knight and then the scene in front of as him as he tried to work out what had happened to make the Cosmos Squire wish that particular brand of horror on anyone, before moving to gaze at the youma.
The lizard one in particular drew attention - hard for it not to with the line of flames dancing their way down its spine and stayed by the General almost as if it was trying to protect him. Falias wasn't particularly worried however - there was more than enough of them there to handle a few youma - particularly with the General already down.
Liryn was once again out and about and trying to find answers, however since coming across the hotel lady two days back his need to find answers had taken a more pressing quality... Because the Negaverse had taken some of their own, the plan seemingly capture based on what the hotel lady had told them - had risked her life to tell them.
She hadn't been able to tell them much before she'd gotten hurt bad by the dagger, but she had told them some.
He found himself wondering what she'd been about to tell them when the dagger had struck her down. She'd told them that she'd seen people disappearing and heard heard the words 'go to the ffff' but the ffff could be anything or anywhere - he - all of them needed more information.
Athene was finally home, he'd returned home late two days ago, but he had listened as Liryn shared all he knew including the information that he'd found out from the hotel lady and had agreed to get the Black Watch involved in trying to find those that had been taken.
Liryn knew he had to do his own part to help though.
Which was why when he picked up on a bunch of auras with the strong, chaotic feel of a lone Negaverse General amongst the bunch, the little tabby bobtail had naturally decided to check it out - after all the best way to find information was to poke his whiskers into things and a Negaverse General by virtue of their rank was high up and that in turn meant that he had to know something - just had to.
By the time he had found the source however it seemed that much of the action had already happened, the General down and on the ground and there were more chaos auras - this time from youma - one a large lizard with a spine full of flames staying close to the downed General.
He recognised some of the faces from two nights back - the pink clad Squire, the chibi girl and the purple and black haired girl. Chaldene was there too as was a senshi that he had first and last seen about eight months or so back - the Super senshi that had helped save Athene's life after the nasty corrupted eternal had taken his starseed.
He caught sight of a glint of something on the ground near the chibi girl, no make that two chibis - there was a boy by her as well. Purplish eyes looked at the dagger for a moment and then back towards the General - there had been a dagger the other night as well - one that had hurt hotel lady but was this the same one?
He remembered the youma and bristled, looking like a miniature fluff ball as his purplish eyes gazed on the things unimpressed. Youma didn't scare him - he could totally handle youma.

Same, or almost the same clustering of auras, but this time, there was a fairly powerful Negaverse aura mixed into it. Oh, this was more than she could pass up in favor of solitary searching. Following the energy trails, she was rewarded quickly enough by some familiar faces and some not so much.
The General though. That was the one that interested her most. Well, and the youma beside him. She couldn't call up her magic, not when it would trickle into the people she most decidedly did not want hurt. Much as she hated it, she might have to rely on words. And her fists. But fists could be fun if used correctly.
Stepping from the shadows, she grinned tightly and spoke in a soft, venomous voice.
"Y'all could let me try to talk to him. We could end up real pals, you know. And I have so many friends I could introduce him to. There's Mr. Righty," she held up her right hand, balled into a fist and then her left hand. "Not to mention Ms. Left. Or I could introduce him to the Nutcracker Duo," she indicated her knees."
Eyeing the youma, she moved closer. That ugly ******** was going to be a problem. "Surely some of you can handle that thing while the rest of us have a friendly little chat with Officer Assface here."
Spying the very pink knight, she bowed politely in her direction. "I'm willing to hold him down while you beat the ever-lovin' hell out of him. Just let me get a few licks of my own in."
Chariklo had never believed in torture. The very idea of it made her sick. But in this case, she was willing to make an exception. If this officer knew where those spirited from the ball were...
Criminy, though. She'd have been happier if there hadn't been a youma to contend with.

With the portal closed he was stuck with just the hand full of youma and his own personal youma, Fyre. It stayed close to him which he appreciated because he needed a moment to recover. He was slight annoyed to see one youma flattened, but the thing seems persistent and retaliated by swinging at the page (Glitnir) legs.
To the squire in pink he frowned (Palatine), "I don't where your child I you stupid woman. She is your responsibility ... but oh did you mean the prisoners. Oh im sorry yes I do where they are. Which is your? I'll be sure to visit her personally, tell her mommy says hello. Maybe carve mommy loves into her gut. Quite a greeting no."
The senshi (Cybele) heading for the flaming youma didn't concern the general. Fyre could handle her, his teeth span in his open mouth and she would be greeted with an expelled ring of fire, straight from the youma's mouth.
He recalled his dagger to him and glared at the group wondering where his back up was and wondering if he should teleport out, but instead he gave a wicked grin before disappearing and reappearing behind the chibi senshi (Oberon and Perdita). He quickly grabbed each tightly, an arm around each, and immediately made to start draining both. In doing so he missed the ostrich sized egg from tossed at him, but it was received by a youma, which poofed into dust.
He growled at the words of the dark mirror (Chariklo), "pathetic," he hissed at her, "mind your words. You have an alliance that you really ought to mind. None of yours are taken, this is none of your concern. You would do well to remember that and to leave."
He tightened his grip on the chibi senshi, "how about we go for a trip, shall we kids. Maybe upset a few more mommies. You would like to that wouldn't you. A nice quick trip to a fun place, made just for the likes of you. You'll enjoy it and I'll introduce you to friends personally."
He looked to the mercury squire (Mimi), "you don't get to know, but I really think they ought to. No?"

Palatine nearly lunged forward upon listening to the General speak. If he was looking to enrage her further, he was succeeding twice over. Her blood ran cold and hot at the same time, her body running on rage and adrenaline both.
But the dagger disappeared before she could make her move. One moment Palatine held it firmly at hand, and the next she was grasping at nothing but air. She cursed when the General followed suit, disappearing for the space of a few moments before his voice rang out behind her.
She turned to see that he'd taken hold of the two youngest Senshi—Oberon and a girl with long, dark hair. Palatine's expression grew dark and murderous. She might not have anything to use as a weapon now, but that didn't mean she couldn't kill this son of a b***h with her bare hands.
“Let them go,” she demanded.

Perdita was not expecting the General to suddenly disappear. She was expecting him to reappear behind her and Oberon even less. Though she made a move as if to run off and put a safe amount of distance between them, an arm snaking around her stopped her before she could even take a step. She whipped around to see if Oberon had managed to escape, only to see him entangled in the General's other arm.
She started to struggle almost immediately, wriggling around in the General's grasp and kicking out with her legs, trying to dig the heel of one of her sparkly bronze shoes into his shin.
Despite being engaged in her efforts to break free, Perdita was nonetheless aware of every word the General spoke. It was hard to ignore him, what with him being so close, practically speaking into her ear. Not that she wanted to ignore him. He had valuable information. He was talking about it now, the place they were holding the captives, offering (or threatening, one or the other) to take her and Oberon there.
“Go ahead!” she dared him.
Perdita twisted in his arm just enough to be able to look up at him, glaring like she were actually capable of posing a threat to him. She was growing weak and assumed he must be draining her of her energy. Stubbornly she held onto her waning strength.
“Go ahead and take us there!”
A foolish show of bravery from a girl who didn't yet know any better.

Falias had thought that the Nega-General was pretty much down, particularly given the numbers of Order people around - after all even with the youma about he reckoned that they probably had the upper hand.
He had forgotten one important fact though - Generals could teleport, something that the General put into effect targeting...
Green eyes widened and then narrowed as the General moved to target the two youngest members, taking a few steps towards the trio.
"Let them go" he could hear someone call out the same words, his words a masculine echo of hers, even as one of the two kids yelled at the General to 'go ahead', her words brave but foolish and ones he had no intention of letting the General carry out.
He took a few more steps forward, his hand on his 'weapon' - an ash wand wrapped with mistletoe. "Let them go."
He knew that his 'weapon', didn't look like much but his magic had helped him once before - perhaps it could help the two kids.
Interrogation, Mimis remembered, had been her specialty in that terrible future world. It was definitely not, now, but she could pull on that, some - and maybe, maybe that was what Sarras was reaching for, some other, stronger person, to even suggest that Mistral was appropriate.
"Watch him run around the labyrinth like a rat while the traps chase someone they're made for, for once? Oh yes, that sounds lovely. I wonder what he'd squeal while they bled the life out of him." Like they'd bled the life out of Degrasse, and Cove, and all the poor people that had been with Sarras and Falias.
But there wasn't much time for threats, because the General was already on the move.
When he grabbed the two Chibi Senshi, Mimisbrunnr's reaction was immediate. She swung fast, snapped off another arrow, and then charged forward, bodily throwing herself at him. "Get your hands off them!" She shouted, rage boiling over.

Oberon hadn’t even the time to thank Perdita for saving his life (not that he didn’t have things under control himself) before he was suddenly being grabbed from behind when the General disappeared. He let out a yelp of surprise, and to his horror, Perdita had been grabbed as well.
“Let go!” he yelled, struggling and thrashing to try and escape. His hands were gloved so as much as he would have liked to claw at the man’s arms, the gloves preventing any real damage from being done.
“Are you crazy??” he sputtered when Perdita agreed to let the General take them, not understanding her intentions right away as panic overtook him. But when she reiterated the desire to take them, he hesitated and frowned, staring at Perdita in surprise through sudden haze of energy loss.
“He won’t — he’s a coward! He doesn’t want everyone else kicking his a**!” Oberon shouted, shooting a look at the two knights rushing to try and help them. “See? I wouldn’t be surprised if he pissed his pants already! Gross! There's no way he can handle two kids!”
He seriously hoped Perdita knew what she was doing... Probably not, but he wasn't about to let her do something stupid alone.

Things were getting worse. Youma hit the deck, his personal one keeping him safe. Then he teleported behind the kids. Suddenly people were called for him to let them go, he was threatening to leave off. A flicker of a memory came to her then, and she set her jaw.
If Andronicus was angry before, she was furious now. For a moment, she wished she had the ability to teleport as well. Able to pop in behind him and run him through. That wasn't possible though.
A lot of things weren't possible right now. She stamped forward, mace swinging in her hand. The Sith had one thing correct, anger brought clarity. It cleansed the mind and focused it. The air around her seemed to tense and hang on her every step as she approached. She bladed herself to him as Mimis and Falias jumped on him.
"What could you possibly do with two kids? Hold them hostage for their parents or siblings? You realize they'll bring an army with them, right? We're very protective of our little ones. Besides... You don't see kids in the Negaverse; makes me think you can't do anything to them with chaos. But by all means, if you want angry, angry adults to come after you in mass... " she told him, giving a shrug of her shoulders that clearly showed she didn't care much about him at all. No, everyone would know of this a*****e if he left with them. She'd make sure of that.

She'd stood back near the younger senshi, trying to make sense of who was attacking what--and which copper figure was which. The deformed copper figures were clearly youma, but any time someone stepped near one, she couldn't tell the difference between the figures. A fair good reason to not use her magic, yet.... well. There wasn't much of an excuse for not assisting in going after the youma. Truthfully? She just wasn't sure it was safe to leave the kids--something she was sure a few very capable youngsters would go after her for.
When the General appeared behind the children though, she wasn't quick enough to try to intervene. That people were wasting their time trying to speak to the murderer who now had children in his arms was unimaginable to her. Sidestepping to try and place herself behind the General, at the very least to minimize her chances of hitting either of his two hostages, before summoning the white orb of energy to her hand. "Mind's Eye Vision," was hissed out as she threw the energy orb at the General, hoping to catch him off guard. And perhaps give some of the others more of an opening to attack him and get the kids away. Metis wasn't especially strong, but she still threw herself forward seeing another figure (Mimis) doing the same, trying to catch the General in the back with her elbow. Assuming he didn't just.... teleport away, the b*****d.
Quote:
Mind's Eye Vision Once the orb vanishes into the target, they would find themselves bombarded with unintelligible, jumbled, and all around random visions of... the future? The visions in their head would come in such a rapid succession that focusing on the present could be quite difficult, though not necessarily impossible. The visions last for 10 seconds.
The youma had swung for Glitnir's legs, inflicting a nasty cut and knocking him over. "Crap!" he shouted, scrambling to his feet. Fortunately, he had not lost his scales when he fell, so he was able to quickly swing it up and nail the youma on its top. This would be the hit that dusted it. Before he could do anything else, a medium-sized round youma flew into his back and knocked him over. What was with all the youma trying to take him down? Well, they were supposed to protect their master, so it made sense, but what had he done to draw so much aggro? Granted, it wasn't like it would be a good idea for him to take a swing at the General at his current power level, so at least he was doing something by attracting youma.
Megrez, conversely, was fully focused on the General. She remembered seeing that lieutenant steal the starseeds from those two children and felt quite certain that this General would not hesitate to do the same. Her temper was on fire once more; even as two others (Mimisbrunnr and Metis) did the same, she ran towards the general, intending to reach him first and tackle him to the ground. "Get your hands off them, NOW!"
