The blond gave a soft nod to her question. "Yeah." Otto murmured, feeling lightly placated by the soft kiss to his cheek. "Not as guilty... but still disgusted."
"I actually talked to Ripley for a bit after I texted you. Tenya told me it'd be bad if I let myself be alone while I waited for you." She was right, and every so often, Otto pulled himself out of his own pool of self loathing and did what she asked.

Surprise was clear in the way her eyebrows rose at the mention of Otto going to see Ripley, not wanting to be alone, and recognizing the advice of his weapon. Cami smiled then, quiet in the stillness of their bedroom. "I'm glad you listened to Tenya. We've both come a long way to go back to being alone when we're upset." Before Cami would have run and hid before letting anyone see her feelings. Now she was fairly open with them. At least with Otto, anyway.
If he didn't remember much of the night because it was all blurry it would be difficult to do anything but press at what was obviously an open wound. There wouldn't be any answers obtained that way, only pain caused. Pain she wanted to avoid because hurting Otto wouldn't help him.
Toying with the golden heart around her neck it took another minute before her next question. "Do you want me to stay on the island for a bit?"

Tenya's presence was strong then, as both her hunter and Cami praised her advice.
"It's okay. I mean.... I like havin' you close by." He shifted a little, burying himself closer in their embrace. "It meant a lot that you came tonight." His voice was quiet again; sheepish.
"Thank you. But... are you sure you're not mad at me? I mean..." He hesitated, "I didn't mean to... cheat. But like... still. If the same thing happened with you or Maebe, I'd probably be a little pissed.." At least he was pretty sure he would be.

Cami's delight at Otto's admission of liking her company was enormous. It was impossible for her to do anything but glow when receiving praise and love from those that were most important to her. Fingers continued to play with Otto's hair as she tried to think of how to explain something that was fundamental to her but utterly alien to almost everyone else.
Tilting her head back so that she was almost looking at the world upside-down she blew out a long breath. "It's not the same. Growing up you were taught that love and monogamy are two sides of the same coin. You can't unlearn something like that overnight. For me? I never thought about it like that. I rejected that idea immediately. It's possible to have sex with someone without having your emotions involved at all...and that's what this sounds like. I could be no more angry at you for this than I could at you watching porn. It's all the same to me." Her hand stilled then, on a thought.
"Maebe thinks like you do, though. More like you than me." Sitting up her face was suddenly dead serious with a solemnity he wouldn't have seen since the Tower of the Ancients. "Otto. If you love Maebe you cannot tell her about this." Cami didn't know what their dramatic lover would do if she found out about all of this but she knew there was no positive outcome.
Not even in dreams were there positive outcomes.

So that was it then. In Cami's eyes, all Otto did was go out for drunken exercise, or reading a dirty magazine. Had he not had the conversation with Ripley, he might not have been so open to her claim. And really, maybe that was how he ought to have seen it. He had no feelings for Zac. None. He thought of him differently now, that was for sure. How or why any of it happened, he'd never know, thanks to the booze that started it all. But that was that. He relaxed in her arms; her soothing and gentle hair pettings calming his frantic heart.
But she was right about Maebe. He hated to admit it, but he could never ever allow her to find out about it.
"You're right. About all of it." He murmured. "It's gunna be really hard to hide somethin' from her though.... it took so long to get her to trust me."

At least someone's heart was calming. Cami's was beginning to race as she thought about everything that could go wrong if Maebe found out about Otto's drunken sexual spelunking. Or maybe he was the one being spelunked? Well, she didn't want to know and didn't want to ask though there were some interesting ideas that it could bring to the bedroom....which was where Kidana interrupted. Forcefully pulling her human by the mental ear back to the problem at hand the redhead wrestled with the idea a bit more.
Finally she gave up wrestling and conceded. "For both of us. I'm already anxious just thinking about it but...we can do it. I know it feels like it was a big deal right now but once you turn your mind towards thinking about it objectively, it'll be easier to forget. I'd talk to Zac if you can or, if you need me to, I can go talk to him. Mention that it should probably be good to keep quiet about the whole thing." And God if she didn't feel dirty about it! She already felt the need to find a church and a priest to confess to.
Maybe on her next leave.
"This whole thing makes it sound dirty and wrong. It's not but...it's complicated. We're trying to avoid the complication." Now it sounded like she was trying to convince herself, arms wrapped tightly around Otto before she buried her face against his neck and shoulder. "Urrrgghhh."

Talk to Zac. Easier said than done. He didn't want to see him again, for fear of so many things. But Cami knew better, he was sure. She was trying to convince them both, and for now, Otto could let himself believe what she said.
Her own sentiment was met with a groan of his own.
"I'm sorry I screwed up." If not for Cami's sake, for Maebe's.

Turning her head, despite the complications, she peppered soft kisses across his jaw and cheek. "Shhhh. I'm not going to lie when I say it's kinda hot to think about all the possibilities had you actually enjoyed..." Trailing off she made another frustrated sound, this one just a bit different in tone from the previous one. This one was decidedly related to Cami's frustrated sexual fantasies.
Trying to be serious, failing and forgiving herself, she squeezed him. "Don't think about it as screwing up. We're human. It's a part of living. Yeah this is going to complicate things but we'll figure it out. Just you and me, okay? Ohana." Reaching up she touched the golden heart around her neck, stretching it so that he could see the light glint off the gold. "You're stuck with me, Otto Graves."

His eyes closed; the soft kisses she gave him lulling him into a cloud of contentedness. "For real?" He asked in both disbelief and curiosity. Just what dirty thoughts were running through that pretty red haired head of hers?
She said such nice and wonderful things. All this would be, was a slight bump in the road. A mistake, and one he could learn from. He caught the glint of her necklace, and his previously frightened heart softened. A genuine smile reaching his lips for the first time in a while.
"I love you, Cami." He said softly, leaning to give her a kiss.
