He was relieved to note that the disoriented girl was not so stubborn when it came to offered help, considering that would be a rather awkward situation to find himself in had he been brushed off. He rose back up once she grabbed hold, making sure she didn't take a fall right back down. It seemed that she was still under the effects of the attack he used, and he was fully intent not to let her injure herself any further from something that was his doing to begin with. Aether had found the answers he needed, so the move had run its course in usefulness. He didn't relinquish her hand after she managed to stand so that he could keep tabs on her as he showed her where the mausoleum was. He didn't need to offer the instruction to use him as a cane, or at least he figured as much.
It seemed strange for her to be thanking him, after everything that had gone down already. It seemed almost backward... but Aether wasn't going to question it. He still wasn't fully sure as to how she was taking some of this interaction, for her responses didn't seem to line up exactly with what he was trying to convey to her. It was lost on him that she considered the boy to be one of the spirits he had been referencing, when he was merely the one that kept the danger from them. He had toyed with the wordplay beforehand, sure, but he wasn't entirely the same as a person that had passed on... he was born like this.
"Hmm, it happens," he responded, indicating the graveyard with a quick glance, "Some think it an easy way to make a quick buck, to steal objects of value from the recently-buried, or as a thrill to venture through a place most consider haunted. And then there are others that..." Fae timidly began following the both of them, but kept herself at a distance in her insecurity. Aether let the thought die on its own. Let the rest be up to a restless imagination, he had already said more than he really wanted to.
She really did seem to be treading a lot more carefully than when he had initially run into her. Idly, he began wondering if it was other variables at play that she decided to change her tune, but it was a curiosity he was not bound to follow up on, if given the choice. Her apologies were starting to make him feel bad, as though he had scared her a little more than he had meant to, but if it kept everyone safe... perhaps it had been for the best. "It shouldn't be a problem, nobody really uses it these days," he reassured; the spirits whose bodies the mausoleum had been built for had departed ages ago. The small building wasn't much further, but the boy was taking his time, making sure the girl didn't trip again. Her respect may have been an oddity in these times, but that was beside the point, "You've no need to assure anyone... action speaks louder than any words could have, you know." They spoke louder and caught a person off-guard the most, that was for sure... He wanted to ask about it, but there was no reason to pry; she was confused enough as it was, so it was difficult to say if he'd even get a straight, or coherent, answer.

Ylerian was glad her hand hadn't been let go as she got to her feet, she wasn't sure what was causing her head and eyes to feel as if they were going in two directions while her feet felt like they were going in a third! It was good to have a sturdy hand to hold onto at this point. Maybe she was coming down ill. Of course it left her confused how a spirit had a solid body but then it was a spiritual matter, so she didn't dwell too hard on it, it was making her head spin worse trying to sort it out! All for the best she held off trying to make any sense really. The explanation made perfect sense, and she didn't even push for him to continue the half finished thought. No, he'd said plenty. Moving carefully through the graveyard, she let her ears and eyes attempt to work in tandem and found that whatever had been making her feel odd, was starting to fade away, and though her hand remained in Aether's own, her grip had lessened. She was steadier on her feet. It would seem the effects of the attack were wearing off on her. Her skin prickled slightly, and she felt eyes on her but she had a feeling it was ghostly eyes, and so she said nothing, and did not react. It was a sixth sense sort of thing just then, more than anything. "I will try to be on my way soon after the sun rises in the morning, so I don't over stay my welcome." that and really, no one chose to stay around a cemetery. Right?

Aether felt Ylerian's grip loosen in strength as they neared their destination, over the course of the short distance, and her steps indicated less caution when it came to setting her foot down. It was about time Confuse Ray let up, but he was unsure if it would leave her completely before she had passed out. Who knew how long she had been awake, and if she had to choose between the cemetery and somewhere in town... Well, this place was not often the choice of the weary, especially so late at night.
He slowed as they came to what appeared to be the only covered area of the place, aside from the stray tree around the perimeter. "Watch your step," he instructed, moving forward to guide the hybrid girl that much easier, "There are just a few stairs here." He reached out to grab her other hand to steady her easier if she were to take a misstep. There were only about three steps, but he couldn't be too careful -- after all, he'd never been under the influence of confuse before, that he could recall. Who knew how deeply it could affect a person?
It wasn't until they were safely under the stone roof that Aether answered Ylerian's prior statement, as he released his hold on her. "You won't overstay your welcome," he assured, "The spirits here are not malevolent, they merely fear the unknown. You've already shown your intentions -- they have no reason to fear someone merely asking for asylum." He sighed a bit, sure that he was the only one here that could be considered 'malevolent' at all. It wasn't as though there were any poltergeists here or anything, so Aether was really the only one around here that could potentially harm a person. At least, as far as he knew he was.
Fae remained outside the mausoleum, staring up at the design work on the front. She was curious who had something so large built in their honor, and without anyone there to be wary of, she took it upon herself to snoop out the front for a marker of some kind in her nervous energy. She was quite curious when not preoccupied with apprehension.

She was glad for the help through the graveyard, even as the confusion she'd been feeling lifted from her mind, making it easier to tell where she was going, where she was putting one foot at after the other. Maybe she was waking up a little bit, not as mentally worn out as she'd been before. She wasn't sure.
Even more she was glad for the help down into the mausoleum, it was hard to see with the almost complete lack of light. Though her eyes needed to adjust from the slight lighting that was out there compared to in here. "Thank you for letting me know, for letting me stay here." tonight was the most honest she'd been in quite a long time really. The most humble even. It was definitely a humbling experience for her all the way around.
She set her things down off to the side, and turned back to the boy, her head tipped slightly. "Are you a spirit too?" she wasn't able to tell! He could have been, maybe she was so tired she was hallucinating...or already so deeply asleep she was dreaming, and because of a graveyard being her bedroom for the night, she was dreaming of ghosts. Either way, she couldn't tell, nor did she try to guess what she assumed to be a dream ghost to say to prove (or disprove!) that this was a dream or something.
A light yawn came from her, which she smothered quickly, and moved to settle against a wall, leaning agains it for sleep. Not as comfortable as stretching out, but it would still offer comfort. Though her eyes darted to the open door area... she wasn't about to be shut up in this place was she? The thought brought a chill to her spin, and worry to her eyes.

He watched Ylerian carefully as she made herself more comfortable, making sure she had regained enough of her balance to set herself up without further injury. Confusion was tricky like that, after all. Aether had released her hands and backed up, to stay out of the way but hovering about close enough to offer help if it was needed. She seemed like a resourceful, if strangely equipped, girl.
He did not, however, know how he should respond to her gratitude. As a confined event, he could easily accept it with a simple nod. When joined with the entire situation as a whole, it was unnecessary. Try explaining that one to someone who was nearing their limits of comprehension through weariness and dizziness, however, and that became near an impossible task unto itself. "It was no trouble," he offered, a diluted explanation.
Ylerian was more wary than Aether had expected her to be, enough to ask a question prompting response. Perhaps she wouldn't be able to process his answer, but that did not mean he couldn't give it to her anyway. He glanced away for a second in thought, landing on the decision to merely explain it like he would have any ghost, "I suppose... I'm a bit of both. Stuck in both worlds and neither, all at once." It wasn't as though he could really say he fit in with either side of the divide, after all. He held up a hand for a moment and waved his fingers a bit to give a less confusing answer, "But you were able to feel my hand, right?" Let her make of that what she would, Aether wasn't really too sure what he was, either. "Rest well," he concluded with a smile, lowering his hand and turning to head back out the entrance to meet back up with his ghostly counterpart.
