As the clock ushered in the New Year, the rabbit joined in on the merriment with a joyful yip of her own. LuLu withdrew from Luka so her palms could press her delicate ears into her hair. It succeeded in muffling the din and, despite some still getting through, the girl had a grin plastered across her face. She was drawn to the railing of the bridge. The show reflected in the water beneath them and served to double the magnificence of the lights in the air.
"I know we will."
The sigel leaned into his hug and watched each firework stretch across the sky in a vivid display before fading to black. Soon, the show drew to a close. LuLu breathed one last satisfied sigh. "Beautiful."
Hands withdrew from the sides of her head and one slipped into her pocket. LuLu withdrew the picture she had brought for one final time tonight. In one quick movement, the paper was torn into a handful of strips and scattered on the lake. She watched the scraps flow away with the deep water, and she felt relief in the sight. However, she should also thank Luka for this feeling. Seeing that he had moved on had helped her fully realize her own progress. "I am glad you were here tonight."

Luka's eyes grew wide as he saw LuLu rip up the photograph and throw the pieces into the river. "That's even better than a bonfire!"
Taking the moleskin notebook in his hands, he took one final hard look at it before flinging it into the river with a swift gesture. With the night sky lit up by the fireworks, the Satyr could see the notebook sink into the river with a low bluup as it broke through the water's surface.
There was something oddly satisfying about seeing the notebook sink into the river.
The river wasn't the only thing that was lit up by the fireworks. In the dark, the occasional flashes of the fireworks brought a certain allure to the Sigel's face. Her bright lively eyes, soft features and plump lips.
"LuLu," Cupping the rabbit's chin in his hand, Luka found himself taking the Sigel in a kiss.
There was something intoxicating in the night, from the bright flashes of color from the fireworks, to the brisk air, and dark surroundings. Luka could feel something strumming through his chest.

LuLu cheered with a small whoop as Luka joined in. She turned to face him at the call of her name and was caught off guard as they met in a kiss.
She found herself sinking into the moment and enjoying the heat exchanged between them in the cold night. However, a soft intake of breath quickly turned into a distressed squeak. The sigel pulled away and placed a few fingertips to her lips to will away the lingering warmth of Luka's lips. Her previously cold cheeks now held a pink flush. Her bright eyes grew a bit frantic as she tried to find the right words, "Luka. I can't. I have my prince. I am sorry!"
The girl kept mumbling sorry over her breath as she spun away.
Like Cinderella, she escaped into the night.

The Satyr let out a smile; the sigel's words barely registering in his brain from the ensuing adrenaline rush of the night's events.
Today was truly a perfect night.
Leaning against the rails of the river's bridge, Luka found himself staring into the night sky oblivious to the people who were leaving the area.
He could only think about how amazing it felt to have last year's bad feelings behind him now.
