Third time, perhaps, was the charm. Traps were sprung right off the jump, but she did find a mirror, and that was reassuring.

It could not be said that Nergui was not resilient, tenacious. She would not let the sting of failure dissuade her from her path.
The rain of spikes hurt, both times, but she was growing better at distinguishing the glitter of mirror shards from the crystal of the cavern walls. Two were retrieved, tucked away safely, before the mare was continuing on her way, carefully.

It was impossible to judge where death from above might be lurking. Again, the mare was caught unawares, startled, gone, then waking at the entrance. Angry and frustrated.

Before her lay an audacious task. Frustrated, she continued onward, spirits as of yet unbroken, but certainly strained.
This was a test from the Goddess. She sought to test Nergui's resolve, and she was doing a really good job of it!
