Ever made a faintly amused sound, looking at the bricks -- but he'd fetch, even if he couldn't quite say why. Maybe he just wanted to see how this turned out. So he'd set them up for her, maybe a bit crooked and wobbly here and there, and tip his head to survey the work when he was done. He didn't say anything until the wave had passed, and the damage was done. Then he raised his eyebrows, considering. "...really, I think we're better off with the straw. Despite the fairytale." It was slightly satisfying to watch Peyton get chipped away by shadowlings. Kiki shrugged at Ever's observation. "I suppose we'll stick to the hay stacks. Off with you now~." Ever'd move some of the hay around, for sure -- but this time, about halfway through, he'd toss one of the bales at Kiki. Lightly, maybe, but she'd either have to dodge or be covered in fluttering hay while Ever grinned. It was a hint. She should help, at the very least. Either way, though, the results were much better, which confirmed his theory. Hay did seem more effective. Stupid shadowlings. Kiki squeaked, jumping out of the way from flying hay bales. She scoffed, looking completely put off by the gesture. Fine. She'd do some... ugh... work. The princess shoved the bale of hay by nudging it with her foot in places, until she was vaguely satisfied. She spat at Princess Peyton on her way back to meet with Ever. When she did return to his side, she seemed quite smug with herself. "I say we torch her if we win." Status Wave: 4 Path 1 HP: 16 Path 2 HP: 14 Path 3 HP: 11 Path 4 HP: 20 Princess HP: 15/20

Ever's turn to have a break, which meant he could light up a cigarette and then lean back to just watch Kiki at work -- not that he thought that would last very long. Eventually, he'd move in to help her fix up their defenses, cigarette still burning absently between two fingers. As the creatures attacked -- or tried to -- he made a thoughtful sound. "We just won, I think. But we could also keep going, if you want to lift more hay bales around...maybe they'll get to her, eventually." Well. Seemed Kiki had a knack for wall building. Yes, Kiki. Peon #45 meant nothing. It was all Princess. "Hm. We could. Or... burn down the hay bales, and let her get torn apart? I could use a funny video on my cell phone~" She grinned wickedly, tapping her bottom lip with a manicured fingernail. "Yes~ That would brighten up my bedtime. A nice story to bring to my dreams."

Ever gave Kiki a look at that, disapproving -- and, quite pointedly, went for the bricks. Bricks didn't burn, and while they didn't produce quite the same wall as straw did, Ever did the best he could, lining them up carefully to stop as many of the shadowlings as he could. "...we'll just keep going until it's over, see how far we can get. No burning." Status Wave: 5 Path 1 HP: 8 Path 2 HP: 6 Path 3 HP: 15 Path 4 HP: 20 Princess HP: 15/20 bittiface roll 4d12 and subtract from above! any negative numbers are damage to the princess.

Kiki scoffed. "You're no fun." So much for seeing her nemesis burn and die. Maybe one day she would be so lucky. For now, she settled for the pleasure of watching the little Queen b***h's dress and skin get torn by shadowlings who'd broken the barrier. He offered it absently, but beneath, maybe his concern was real -- sure, it was just a golem in this case, but it was hard to tell just how serious Kiki was about her hatred. Would it carry over to the real thing? Wasn't this what people were supposed to warn leads about? Only Death members, he thought. "After all," he offered, as he stacked more bricks. "You could be someone's princess here, someday." "I don't have to be anything I don't wish to be." She replied clinically, her smile still painted on as if she were a statue. "I am always someone's princess." She corrected. "I am my own princess." Anyone else's opinions were worthless. Garbage, the lot of them. The whole island was full of trash that were beneath her. The swarms began, and all walls were decimated in a flash. Kiki's eyes widened as she watched them swarm the princess golem, ripping her to earthy shreds. Kiki began to giggle. Kiki began to cackle. It was...something, alright. Ever watched Kiki for a moment as she dissolved into helpless, rather-evil-sounding laughter, and couldn't help but think she was more of the wicked witch than the princess -- but he didn't say that aloud. Instead he adjusted his clothes, the course done anyway, and tried to back out of there before she could notice.

Lucky for Ever, she did not notice. She just laughed, until the laughter softened and died. She watched with mirth as Peyton was no more. Only after she was satisfied did she notice Ever had bailed. "That.... cad."
