Kelina hadn't known he had proposed to Lasa. Once they both had found significant others they both kind of went their separate ways meeting up every once in awhile. But not often enough. There was the war and her own children that had happened of course, but how could she not have known that Ray had proposed? She exhaled deeply and closed h er eyes against the tears that threatened. "I hadn't known you had proposed. I'm sorry. But you can't blame yourself for going to Neued. We were needed there who knows what would have happened if you hadn't gone." She knew she had to try and take her own advice to not blame herself, but how could she? She promised she'd take care of her sister and now look what happened. How would she not blame herself?

"It was right before the war.." He muttered and ran a hand across the face. "Before I got captured by Obans then this...." He had to force his thoughts to keep from blaming himself and the obans. The same thoughts that kept circling and never ended...

"I keep telling myself that I needed to go, that I helped.. but was it worth it.. for this?!" He waved a hand at the jungle about them. Was it really worth losing the love of his life over?

She couldn't help it, Kelina reached out to him and laid her hand on his shoulder. "I'm not saying anything is worth more than my sisters life but this..." She said as she swept her hand in the same manner. "This is our home and the home of our people. By our fighting we probably saved hundreds of couples that couldn't and can't defend themselves. Don't give up hope. My sister is not weak and to think her dead or gone just because we can't find her is discrediting Lasarra. I know she's out there. She's too strong and resourceful to not be. Don't give up." Kel gave his shoulder a little squeeze before letting go. Maybe he couldn't see that the pain they were going through likely saved many more even more pain. She knew she'd just have to live with it and keep searching for her sister.

"I know..." He whispered as his shoulders slumped. He knew in his mind.. but his mind didn't hurt as much as his heart. and logic didn't help with feelings at all! "I know but.... I'll just.. keep searching. She is strong. She ... she can survive the jungle." He told himself, trying to convince his heart that just because he couldn't find her didn't means he wasn't there.

He stood up and gave a nod to Kelina. "I'm.. going to go search again. Maybe one day I'll wander by here again and will see you and your family." Maybe.. when it didn't hurt anymore.

With that he turned and slipped off into the jungle. Climbing silently up into the canopy then out into the wilderness to begin his search all over again.

Kelina hoped he would keep that frame of mind. That Lasarra was strong enough. Kelina knew she was and had complete faith in her. Her sister was alive. She'd never stop believing that. It was somewhat obvious that he didn't completely believe it, but after all it was probably more difficult for him. When he stood and started to make his way towards the forest Kelina stood as well. "Ray, be careful. Don't lose yourself looking for her." She sighed and sat gathered her stuff up to head back home. Her family likely missed her.
