Hermes too awaited the return of the leader eagle with great interest. He had definitely caught glimmers of recognition in her eyes throughout Vajrayana's story. There was something about it that she recognized. Maybe she knew of thief? They wondered this in silence for several long minutes before the eagle returned. Hermes squinted through the light, then inhaled a small gasp when he saw what she carried.
It was a golden crown, as fine and as beautiful an object as he had ever seen. Her wings beat heavily with the weighty load, but she still deposited it with as much gentility as she could muster at Vajrayana's feet.
It looked like Vajrayana had gotten his crown back, after all.
